Another really fun book club kit. I loved the pen name generator. Belle Henry here! Also tips for writers block and jasmines personal experience with it were a nice touch. The different charcuterie board ideas were a hit! The s'mores and pretzel boards were my favorite. The story itself was such a unique retelling. Finding a way to make the house come alive in fun believable ways, was a favorite of mine. It made me want to redo my bathroom immediately to recreate the magical one described in the book!
great kit! loved the discussion questions and the interview with the author. definitely leaves lots of room for productive discussions in any bookclub!
A fine resource for Book Clubs reading Jasmine Guillory's incredibly popular BY THE BOOK. Can't wait to use it for our book club!
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.
Opinions are mine.
I accidentally downloaded this one instead of getting the book. I still would love to read the book down the line but do not have access yet.
This was really interesting to read! The discussion questions were for the reader to give a cliff notes version of what they thought of the book.
I really enjoy author interviews because it gives the reader insight into what they were thinking as th book was being written.
This book and pack make a perfect pair - ideal if reading with a group, friends or a book club! I particularly enjoyed the design of this one
I loved the bookmarks and the recipes in this. I was super cute and I can’t wait to print the bookmarks and try the recipes.
I've never read a Book Club Kit before (i just picked this and another up). It's honestly brilliant, and I'm not sure why I didn't discover these sooner. This is an excellent method to engage readers in debate and help them pick what to read next. I used some of the questions provided to start discussions online. I wish more books came with kits.
This book club kit would be the perfect companion to any book club meeting about By the Book. I loved the variety of content included in this kit and I particularly enjoyed the interview with the cover designer as this is a part of publishing I've never really thought about before. I loved the colour scheme used throughout this kit and thought the design was beautiful.
I definitely want to read By the Book after reading this kit and I'm now excited to read the entire Meant to Be Series!
I really enjoyed this book club kit. I would highly recommend it to anyone that needs. I enjoyed the author's interview, though I felt it could be longer. The questions were great and they had tips for making a charceuterie board and drink for the book club. They also had writing prompts, which would something new to bring to book club. I feel like this is great if you are just starting a book club and need help getting ready.
This was a fun read but missing some of the sparkle and pop that makes a great Jasmine guillory read! Her books have so much energy and this felt a bit weighed down by the concept.
Another great book club kit. These need to be purchasable via Amazon. The general public would love them! In this book club kit my favorite part was the Enemies to Lovers book recommendations and the Pen Name generator and writing prompts. It is just so fun to immerse yourself more into the story by participating the activities.
This is one of my favorite books ever. This is the best retelling of Beauty and The Beast and I have read it twice now. I always love a book kit to dive deeper into the story. Thank you Netgalley
Love this kit it gives something extra to the book club . Since this was only the a kit and not the actual book I didn’t link a review .
A really good kit, my friends loved it and felt they enjoyed the book more after reading the kit. I would highly recommend it to other book clubs before reading this book
Great tips and feedback for the book with good discussion points. It was a nice companion to the book.
I didn't realize this was not a actual book. But I loved this kit and hearing the author thoughts and the book club thoughts.
This bookclub kit is fantastic. I like the interview with the author aspect, followed with questions to help with discussion of the book.
The bookmarks are a nice edition,
The book recommends really help as a guide to what to pick up next.

Jasmine Guillory's "By the Book" offers a delightful and contemporary twist on the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale, set in the world of publishing. This modern retelling brings fresh and engaging elements to the age-old story, making it a charming and heartwarming read.
The protagonist, Isabelle, is a relatable character who finds herself at a crossroads in her career and life. Her journey of self-discovery, self-empowerment, and her pursuit of professional recognition will resonate with readers who have faced similar challenges and aspirations. As the only Black employee at her publishing house, she navigates issues of representation, diversity, and inclusion in a nuanced and authentic manner.
The reluctant "Beast" of this story, Beau Towers, adds depth and complexity to the narrative. His initial standoffishness and struggles mirror Isabelle's, and their gradual connection and shared experiences create a touching and believable romance.
Guillory's writing is engaging, witty, and filled with humor, making it a joy to follow Isabelle and Beau's journey as they collaborate on his manuscript. The novel also explores themes of self-worth, creativity, and the transformative power of connection.
"By the Book" is a heartwarming and inspiring story of two individuals who find unexpected love and understanding while pursuing their creative passions. It's a celebration of diversity, empowerment, and the idea that true beauty lies in the depths of one's character. If you're a fan of contemporary romance with a modern twist on classic tales, this book is a must-read.
Adorable kit! I love the bookmarks, discussion guide and games to play. A great way to keep the topic of conversation on the book.
