Another fantastic addition to the Twilight, Texas series! Lori Wilde has once again done an amazing job!
This is cheesy in all of the amazing ways that Hallmark movies are cheesy. Ive learned getting to know myself as a reader that this is not the type of book that I usually gravitate towards. But for the right audience, I think this book would do very well.
I love Lori Wilde and the stories she writes. Her characters are funny and easily relatable, and the stories a fun read with a bit of heart. This story takes us back to the Cookie Club and we provides a witty and funny read, that tug on the heartstrings a bit. Great read!
Definitely the perfect little holiday read from Lori Wilde with a cozy Western feel. With a campfire Christmas Cookie contest at the center of this charming tale, Jazzy manages to open Roan's heart as he tutors her on how to win the contest. This book charmed me from page one and all the way through. It was a little tame by my standards in steam, but for a book that could easily be a hallmark holiday movie, it was definitely enjoyable!
My opinion is my own and freely given.
If you love baking or not, if you love a good competition or not, if you enjoy read around Christmas you will enjoy this light hearted story. You can root for Jazzy. I think everyone wins. I can say I liked the book but it wasn’t as good as others in the series.
I wasn't a fan of this one. 3 stars because the writing itself wasn't bad, but I didn't really enjoy the characters. Jazzy is really young, and her constant optimism was tiring for me. Roan was only 32 but he acted more like he was in his 50s. They didn't really make sense to me as a couple either. The whole feud between Jazzy and Andi was over the top and annoying at times. Even though wasn't for me, I would give this author another read.

Adorable Christmas book. I got a copy for my mother-in-law as well.
This is book 13 in the Twilight, Texas series. It can be read as a stand alone because the connecting factor is the wonderful small town. Lori Wilde does a good job of bringing back some of the previous couples for updates. Jazzy is determined to win this year's cooking challenge for the Christmas bragging rights. It's cookies baked over a campfire and she has just the person in mind to help her beat rival Andi. Roan is a well known cook but is still morning the death of his wife several year past and raising his 4 year old daughter. A fun sweet romance with lots of small town Christmas traditions.
Lori Wilde did a fantastic job developing Roan. He was such a curmudgeon in the beginning but ultimately succumbed to Jazzy’s can-do attitude.
I had also never realized that campfire cooking was a thing, so I did learn a lot about that!
An overall very enjoyable Christmas read.
OMG I couldn’t get enough of this whole body feel good love story. Life throws you so many challenges and the fun is in how you overcome them with those that you love. Loved this book!!

The Cowboy Cookie Challenge is the story of Roan (a campfire chef) and Jazzy. It is a light-hearted holiday romance. This book has potential to be a decent book, but maybe the author and/or editor was in a hurry? I am not sure. There are a lot of discrepancies in this book (for example at one point the book says that Roan and Jazzy stop at the pharmacy to get her prescription on the way home from the hospital, then a few pages later Roan tells Jazzy that he should go get her prescription before the weather gets worse...). There were more than one of these type of scenarios int his book, which was really annoying. Additionally, the characters of this book were very immature for being in their 20s and 30s. I didn't feel connected to the characters or feel their connection with each other.
This is the second Lori Wilde book I've read and both have been mediocre, so I'll probably pass on her novels in the future, they're just not for me.
I enjoyed this story! You never know exactly how it will turn out and it's twists and turns will have you reading until you can finish the book. I highly recommend this one and love Lori Wilde!!
This was a good one! I love these sweet western romances, and the Christmas setting was exactly what I needed this holiday season. I loved the characters, but more the town and the setting. I love the tight knit community these books are set in. I loved the premise of the cookie contest, and the baking aspects as well. Highly recommended!
This was a sweet story. Roan just wants to be left alone to be a rancher but Jazzy is very determined to get his help for the baking competition. Roan finally gives in and starts teaching her lessons on how to bake and do it over a campfire. Feelings start to develop between during the endless cookie lessons. Will they be able to overcome their past to take a chance on their future?
A charming, "Hallmark" type story. Small town, single woman who wants to win a contest to spite another woman in town, one who always wins everything. Enter a small town handsome, single father, with relationship issues. Cute, quick story develops.
The Cowboy Cookie Challenge is a perfect holiday read. A cowboy and campfire baking at Christmastime, what could be better? Roan, a healing widowed cowboy with an adorable four year old daughter and Jazzy, a pediatric nurse a decade younger than him (but old enough and wise beyond her years) quickly find themselves falling for one another as he tutors her in campfire cooking so she can have a real chance at winning the campfire Christmas cookie contest. This book is the perfect holiday blend of sweet with a bit pf heat.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
I always enjoy a quick cowboy Christmas read and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed visiting Twilight again. Loved each of the characters. I Look forward to the next book in this series.

THE COWBOY COOKIE CHALLENGE, Twilight Texas #13
Lori Wilde
Holiday Romance
Jazzy Walker enters a cookie bake off to spite the woman who has been taking everything from her for years. She gets the help of a sexy single father to teach her to cook over a campfire. This book was full of charm and whit.
This can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. I had given up on this series a while back because it was a bit too steamy for my liking but in this installment, the author toned down the steam a bit. While there were still some smoking hot scenes, there was more character development in this than some of the previous Twilight stories. definitely give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
This was a charming story that I had a hard time putting down. I loved that the characters were full of spunk and charm. I thought the competition between Andi and Jazzy to win the cook off kept the story interesting. It does get a little spicy between Roan and Jazzy and I skipped over several chapters. Their relationship towards the end drove me a little crazy, but it ended happily so I was satisfied.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
