This was a fun, light romance! Second chance, brother's best friend, and lots of steamy scenes! I was hooked on the premise from the beginning, but I wish we'd had more scenes of them recording the audiobook. And I would have liked a bit more emotional depth and connection between the leads. The parental conflict (especially Sam's with his father and Piper's with her mother) also felt a bit underdeveloped and I would have liked a better understanding of the character's motivations. Overall, I enjoyed the read, but some things were missing for me. But, the writing and voice were so engaging and I look forward to reading more books from Livvy Hart! Thank you Netgalley & Entangled Publishing for providing me the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
A second chance romance.
This book had me hooked from the first page. The will they or won't they moments between Piper and Sam had me on edge. Loved every single bit. Can't wait to have the physical copy of them.
This was AMAZING. I loved this book through and through! Talk flirty to me is a new adult novel with the perfect amount of funny, sexy and sweet dynamics that won't let you put it down ♥ I'm looking forward to read more from Livy Hart.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
I'm so sorry, but I DNFed this novel. I read only a couple of pages, skipped to the end and realized that it's not for me. Here is the thing: the heroine has NINE brothers and her mother is pregrant with 11th child! I'm not sure how old her mother is, but she is probably around 45-50 and she is pregnant with 11th child. And it ruined any romantic mood for me. I couldn't enjoy reading this book after that. Plus, I didn't like that the heroine drinks alocohol to take her mind off the familial stress. It's very subjective. I just couldn't relate to that. When I skipped to the end, I read a scene where a guy wants to bring a condom and the heroine convinces him to have unprotected sex instead. Even though seh is on the pill and both of them got checked... I kept thinking about her mother who is pregnant with 11th child. Why would the heroine do something so reckless?
You should give this book a try. The premise is so cute! I didn't enjoy it because of the personal reasons - a mere thought about eleven children makes me freak out. Plus, I'm against unprotected sex. Please don't let my comment affect your opinion. It's a good book. Just not for me.
I have never laughed so much. Almost every page had me dying of laughter. The interactions between the two main characters are great!!! The plot is unique and has amazing dialog. Definituely a must read romance that I couldn't put down. I finished it in two days!
"My best friend’s sister is not just off-limits, but off-limits to the second power because we’ve crossed the line once before."
This book guys.... I seriously loved every second of it! The storyline was something new and refreshing and with the second chance and brother's bestfriend tropes added, it became a whole lot more enjoyable. There was never a dull moment when the Bellini family was on page, I loved the interactions between every single family member because they were just so chaotically amazing! I was captivated by the dynamics between Sam & Piper from the first page they conversed. The slow and gradual change in their behaviour towards each other felt so natural. When all the pent up emotions and feelings from the past resurfaced, I definitely felt all the angst that I was expecting. Piper was unreasonable at times but Sam was equally responsible for all the things that went down between them. Some situations were oh so hilarious and some very very serious, it helped to maintain the balance and because of that, though the book was cliche at times, it didn't feel cheesey. But it was one big entertainer and I look forward to read more of the author's work now!
Thank you Netgalley & Entangled Publishing for providing me the ARC
I decided to check this book out because it was approved for me and I like romance books this was a fun read it took me a day and a half to read it.
In case the 5 stars don't tell you how I feel about this book, allow me to elaborate, the minute I can get a physical copy of this book, I am buying 5. One for me and four to gift my friends because this book was just my cup of tea.
What I liked:
-The Writing- was fantastic. Entertaining, and easy to digest without being immature. It had a great balance. I really felt two different voices with the POV switches,
-The characters- I felt the entire cast was lovely. You really felt the chaos of all those brothers and trying to keep them straight. Also, the scene with Nova, IYKYK, was hilarious. Also, I want, no, NEED a prequel story for how Caleb and Jane got together. Their chemistry was fantastic and I would love to see some more sassy Bellini.
-The tropes- we have them all. The non-spoiler ones being: second chance at love, enemies to lovers, older brother's best friend, close proximity for work. There's more but you'll have to read to know what.
-Pacing- I could not put this down. I never felt a lag, it was just a smooth read. This book only took me 2 days because I have a kid who likes to eat and see his mom, otherwise, I would not have put this baby down.
What I didn't like-
-Miscommunication. While it is not central to the current timeline, it is very present in the past. There is a reference to a famous misconception in a 90s sitcom, and it is basically exactly that. I hated it with Ross and Rachel and I hate it now.
-Tropes- I know this was a plus and it is. however, I would be negligent to not point out just how many of them there are. Not listed above in the pros are the small town trope and the miscommunication trope. There is a lot happening here. now I think this is fine given that there is something for everybody, but one more and it would have lost all appeal from me. it tows a line.
-the wrap-up. both main characters have some big moments with their respective parents and I don't feel they were addressed in the wrap-up, not in a satisfying way. There was more closure needing to be had, from both leads and it just sort of feels forgotten.
All in all this is a fantastic read if you love contemporary romances and I will absolutely be adding this to my personal collection once I can.
Fans of The Love Hypothesis, The Ex Hex, The Hating Game and The Spanish Love Deception would particularly love this.
A huge shout out and thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing LLC, and Livy Hart our fabulous author for providing an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I requested the opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this book. And boy am I glad they said yes!! All thoughts and opinions are my own and truthful.
I am literal goo after that epilogue.
I enjoyed this immensely! A little slow in the beginning but once I hit my stride, I devoured the last 70% in a single night. Livy Hart is a romantic mastermind. The banter, the steam, the tension! And can we talk about the audiobook dialogue? I wanted so many more scenes in Piper’s closet!
Thank you to Netgalley and Livy for providing me a copy to read and review. I can’t wait to see what Livy has up her sleeve next.
Omg Piper and Sams relationship is one of the cutest and sweetest things ever. I loved the banter and angst between them. And the prologue almost had me in tears so freaking sweet and original. This entire book was original I’ve never read anything like it before. Sam and Piper have known each other forever and dated all through high school till it crashed and burned. Sam is Pipers older brothers best friend although they are only a year apart. You get to know Pipers family a lot which I also loved. Sam and Piper end up getting a gig for recording a steamy romance novel, which they had no clue how steamy it really was. And somehow they had to get through it while pretending to hate each other. Can these two get their happily ever after? Thank you Netgalley, Livy Hart and Entangled Publishing for allowing me to read and write my honest review!
Livy Hart’s debut novel is steamy, fun, emotion-provoking debut. Sam and Piper have a compelling story, and are easy to root for. Definitely recommend.
Livy Hart's debut is a fun, sexy contemporary that reads like a combination of Penny Reid and a more modern version of Rachel Gibson's work from the 90s and early aughts. There's some angst, lots of heat, a very large family, and interesting info about the audiobook industry. I'm looking forward to reading more from Livy Hart.
Talk Flirty to Me is a second-chance romance with the perfect balance of angst, banter and romance!
One thing I particularly loved in this book was the characters and their relationships to each other. Not just the chemistry between main characters Sam and Piper (which was incredible by the way), but the way Piper’s huge family are written is funny, sweet and relatable.
The slow build-up between Sam and Piper was perfect for me and I couldn’t put this book down, I just wanted to see where they were going next! In terms of the conflict, it felt natural, as did its resolutions.
I can’t wait to have a physical copy of this book and, if this debut novel is anything to go by, I can’t to read more from Livy Hart!
Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing LLC and Livy Hart for allowing me access to an e-arc for this book. I voluntarily read this early access copy and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
4.5 stars
I had so much fun with this book! This is a debut author, and sometimes there’s a learning curve and some hiccups, but not in this book. It’s well written, the banter is good, and the sex scenes are steamy and well done. There’s even an “only one bed“ scene (those are always fun). My only tiny complaint would be that everyone has way too much going on. To be clear, I didn’t dock my rating because of these tiny complaints, this is just commentary. This really is a fun book, albeit with some serious moments (as it should have). Entertaining for sure!
Thank you to NetGalley & Entangled Publishing for this advanced reader copy. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This was a sweet second chance romance. I loved the banter between Piper & Sam, and thought they were a cute couple. However, they each have a lot of baggage - mostly stemming from their breakup as teenagers. I feel that this clouded the story a lot, as most of their arguments were based on their history but it took them a long time to actually sit down & discuss what had happened. Having an ambitious overachiever & a self-sacrificing people pleaser as a pairing also makes for an interesting read - we see glimpses of how they could be a couple, but due to the decisions they make, it takes so long to get there. There's no denying the chemistry they have - they have it in spades - but for me, there was just too much background noise to them getting together. I still enjoyed it & I'm glad to have read it.
If enemies to lovers and second chance romance books had an offspring, if would be this book!
I have already preordered my physical copy because I need this one for my collection. Sam and Piper are one of those couples that you're really rooting for. The banter is funny, witty and so much sexual tension which makes this book so much more fun!
I do wish we could have dove more into their backgrounds and history, but it's nothing that makes it seem like there are holes in the story.
This is the prefect book to grab, snuggle up and devour on a gloomy day. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
*Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review*
I really enjoyed this one! I was immediately rooting for Sam and Piper's love story to find their HEA.
Piper is a voice actress who finds herself living at home with her parents, and her many younger siblings. She is trying to land some jobs so she can get on her feet and move out, but is struggling and losing hope...
Sam is Piper's High school ex-boyfriend, and her older brother's best friend. He is a local fire fighter and running for mayor...
Their breakup 7yrs left things unresolved between them. Now that Piper is back in town, they are given a second chance on love...if they can get out of their own way.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC!
Piper and Sam’s relationship is an epic second chance/brother best friend romance. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and Pipers family. It was an easy heart felt read that i couldn’t put down.
Talk Flirty to Me is a brother's best friend, forced proximity, and second chance lovers. That I really enjoyed to read.
Piper and Sam are exes that were forced to reunite. Trying her hardest to avoid him, Piper ends up needing him when he offers to help her get the job of the dreams.
As much as I loved the book Piper kept getting me mad that she couldn't communicate, and Sam not being able to put 2 and 2 together. However I do recommend for a nice and cutesy read.

A good enemies to lovers (again) kind of story. The premise follows up Piper Bellini, a member of a huge and noisy italian family, trying to get a living as an voice narrator worker, a job no one knows exactly what is done, and She doesn't know if She is good at it, but it was something She truly loves to do. And When the opportunity of her life hits her, She needs a help from a partner , who ends to be her ex-boyfriend, and first love, Sam O'shea, her brother's best friend, Someone She never forgot, but tried strongly. Sam is trying to reconnect with his best friend after years apart caused by his broken relationship with Piper, and try at least to get along well with her, altough He never stoped love her. So when a chance to work with her is up to him, He accepts to partner with her in a voice record of an audiobook. But When they discover that the book is actually a romance, a hot one, They'll have to figure a way of no let their true emotions come arise with old memories that's trying to become new ones once again.
The narrative is funny, and compelling, and the story goes pretty well to the reader. Altough some of the characters actions and decisions had me nervous and angry(beacuse a simple conversation would prevent worst damages) I was completely cheering to Piper and Sam reconciliate with each other, since It was so well developed the feeling they felt for each other. It was a good reading and I've enjoyed the ride.
