Thank you to Net Galley for giving me a copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. I must admit I was a bit shocked when I delved into this one, it was in the History section and I was expecting a researched History of women's experiences throughout history. Instead, it was a personal reflection of past lives. I think like many people I fell trapped to only reading the first half of the blurb.

This was a really, really long book, that did have a lot of interesting elements, however, ultimately it was not for me.

I really must read the blurbs with more attention. I thought this was a history book about women through the ages, but it's actually a book about one woman through the ages. The author is a deep memory specialist and she writes about all her past life experiences - in great detail since this book seemed neverending.

Absolutely not for me.

In Woman Through the Ages author Ann Merivale takes you on a trip through her previous lives, ranging all the way from Atlantis up to WWII. The book describes not only how Merivale learned about her previous lives and how she reflects upon them in the present day, it also describes vividly how life was in remote places, some of which you probably never even heard of!

This book had me wondering. Do I believe in past lives? Yes, I think I do. Do I believe in being able to revisit those past lives I have had? That I am not that sure about. Maybe I simply have never had an experience like Merivale. I have to admit that I also do not really long to get to know myself in past lives. I think I have my hands full with myself at this very moment, but perhaps some parts of me that do not make sense at the moment, could be explained by a past life. Well, who knows?

Even though you might be experiencing the same hesitation as I do, I would still recommend that you read this book. Even if you do not believe in past lives at all, read it because of the interesting stories it tells about places and times all over the world!

This book was far too long for me personally; I can deal with larger books but not when the subject is as dry and dull as this. It just came across as a self-indulgent vanity project.

I love a good book based around females so knew this would be right up my street and I'm so glad I read this. Thank you so much for the chance to read this arc. It had me wanting to learn more and more throughout.

It was an interesting collection of essays, there was one essay that felt unrealistic because it regarded a famous person. However, It got me thinking about reincarnation and made me wonder... and this book does seem like the author believes what she's writing and makes me wonder more about reincarnation as well. The thing is the ending should have been in the same format as the rest of the essays, for I begin to get bored at the ending.
