I honestly requested this book because the title was funny. It's not usually my kind of book but it was kind of helpful. I'm a new parent and I did get some good tips on things from reading it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.
This book was great! As a mom of 3 kids - it’s exactly what I would want my children’s babysitter to know! It was informative but fun to read! Very relevant content!
I want to thank NetGalley for giving me a digital copy of “Don’t Sit on the Baby” to review.
As a professional nanny with years of babysitting experience under my belt, I have to say that my interest was piqued by the title. I’m not typically a big fan of non-fiction books, but I had to give this one a try. This book does a good job laying out the requirements of being a babysitter and setting clear expectations for both the sitter and those that need a sitter. The book is focused on pre-teens/young teenagers and emphasizes that school and extra-curriculars are more important than securing a babysitting job (very true!). The book includes babysitting stories from other teens sharing their experiences.
This book covers all the essentials from what to expect from different ages to caring for kids with disabilities. The author even recommends books by disabled authors!
Overall, I think this is a great book for 11-15 year olds who want to try out babysitting but don’t know where to start!
This would be a great selection to add to your Teen/Tween library. Babysitting is a perfect first job, but it can be difficult to know where to begin. This guide is easy to reference, engaging, and helpful. You can't ask for more!
I teach fifth grade so this book will resonate with so many of my students. I love the practical advice given in a youth friendly tone. There are recipes, game ideas, first aid tips, and more. Definitely thorough and well thought out.
