I freaking love the Margot Mertz series!! I adored this rom com book. Margot is a fun a character to read about it.
An honest and raw account of the lack of consequences for revenge porn. This was a book that makes you face the distressing reality of how little is done to hold perpetrators of sexual violence accountable. Following Margot as the main character was great as she was compelling and complicated. Lovely book.
I loved this so much. The writing sucked me in from the beginning and I loved the way Margot grew throughout the story. I loved Margot and Avery. The ending made me really sad, I wanted a happy ending for Margot and Avery.
Instead of Margot Mertz Cleans Your Filth, she’s decided to intern with Shep Greene’s political campaign as well as help her classmate win the school’s election against RB’s creator, Peter Bukowski.
We were worried that without the “cleaning” from the first novel, the story would fall flat, however it exceeded our expectations! There were a ton of twists and turns including scandals we never saw coming. It includes a new cast of characters from the local election campaign and includes our old favorites like the Kelseys, Avery, Sammi, and our not-so favorite Pboy. But who knows, maybe even Peter Bukowski can change?
We highly reccomend this series, and especially the sequel, if you are fans of Young Adult literature, political themes, and character-driven stories.
Margot Mertz is a great main character who isn't afraid to be her true self and follow the morals she believes. She always stands up for what she believes in and that makes her a compelling character. This time she gets involved in politics, both in school and out of it. She brings so much to the table in her humor mixed with her intelligence. make this a lighthearted and fun read!
I just love Margot Mertz! As in the first book, she's a wonderful main character who stands up for what she believes in, whatever the cost. In Margot Mertz for the Win, she gets involved in politics, both at school and in a campaign for Avery, the boy she still pines for dad. Margot is funny, irreverent, smart and I can't wait to see what she's up to next!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this digital arc.
Thank you to Penguin Teen and Netgalley for sending me an e-ARC of this book to read and review. I'm really glad my girl Margot Mertz got a sequel. I didn't think her story was meant to be done with one book and I liked the continuation. It was nice to see her growth from book one to now and I liked that she had taken charge of campaign work. She's sassy and definitely makes for a unique YA character. The topics were a bit heavy again in this installment, but they were handled well and balanced with banter and Margot's inner thoughts. I really enjoyed reading this one and I liked that it's on the older side.
I got the lovely privilege to read the first Margot Mertz book before it came out last year and I can confidently say that I'm so sad to see this end (can we please have a third I don't want to say goodbye to Margot)
As always this book follows the ambitious and new Margot with a vow to stay away from the clean-up business but gets thrown into it while working on a campaign for a local election. We see the aftermath of the site Roosevelt Bitches, and how Margot deals with her new-found priorities.
I really enjoyed this book, because Margot isn't always right and good. and she owns up to her actions and can admit she is wrong. she is a teenager who makes mistakes and learns from them. as always this was a hilarious read with not a single dull moment. I honestly enjoyed Nick as a weird, goofy side character, and of course, I always will love sweet Avery he is such a sweet guy. It was fun to see how Margot let herself enjoy having a friend group and friends, letting herself have fun instead of being all business.
Thank you penguin teen for providing this arc!
This was so good and I enjoys Margot’s character! I started it and then realized I should probably read the first one before the sequel, but I enjoyed watching how Margot and the cast of characters grew and learned.
What a fun sequel to an equally fun debut! I was so excited for this, especially because we get to see the fallout from Roosevelt Bitches. Margot is the best character because she's morally grey, and you don't see that a lot in MCs, especially in contemporaries. I loved her arc and growth in this book and how she finally came into her own. I hope this is a trilogy because I will follow her forever!
I got the chance to read the first Margot Mertz book a few months before it came out, and since then I have been looking forward to this moment. Margot Mertz is a teen who, like many of us, makes some "morally dubious" (as she'd put it) choices, and it's no different in Margot Mertz for the Win. We see the aftermath of the site Roosevelt Bitches, and how Margot deals with her new-found priorities. I really enjoyed this book, because Margot isn't always right and good. I love how she learns to be herself but also grows and becomes more... teenager-y. I highly recommend Margot Mertz for the Win, and I hope there will be more Margot Mertz to come.
This book bLEW MY MIND! I'm a big fan of politics books, but usually they're pretty hit or miss. This one was such a hit! I am Margot and Margot is me. She is so funny and talented and resourceful! This book had me on the edge of my seat with a ton of twists and turns. I literally stayed up until 2AM to finish this and it was so worth it!
