Thank you so much to NetGalley, Hatchette Audio, and Little, Brown and Company for the e-arc and audio-arc!
Elin Hilderbrand does it again. She has captured a beautiful vision of Nantucket with completely fun and unique stories. Elin does a multi-pov story like no other, and this book is no exception!
This story was so fun to follow along. It had everything I look for in a summer read - a little romance, mystery & deception, friendship, and a whole lot of summer sun. This book was so easy to get lost in the setting and plot but also so easy to follow along with the intertwined storylines. It was the perfect Nantucket vacation ;)
As always, I highly recommend Elin Hilderbrand if you are looking for a summer reading escape. Something so unique about her stories are that each book is completely different from the next while all being set in the same place. They are always a joy to read and my summer is no-longer complete without an Elin release!
4.5 stars. Do you have a go-to author to put you in the mood for summer? Elin Hilderbrand does that for me (I actually love the Winter Street series for winter too😍). She is my queen when it comes to summer mood reads!
I was beyond excited to get an early listening copy The Hotel Nantucket, her newest novel that comes out TODAY! Erin Bennett narrates and is, as always, fantastic and perfect for transporting us to Nantucket where I must go some day.
Lizbet takes on a new adventure as hotel manager for The Hotel Nantucket which was just purchased by Xavier Darling. Xavier’s goal is to renovate and get a prestigious “5th key,” which is highest hotel rating from a social blogger who has never given 5 keys in her ratings. The background of the hotel is that it burned down in the 1920s killing a chamber maid, Grace Hadley, who is rumored to now haunt the hotel. I love that Elin included a ghost character in this story. True Elin style, there are many characters that you will care about and grow to love. I really enjoyed this one! I look forward to her books each summer. It’s out today so grab your copy and enjoy!
Many thanks to @littlebrown and @netgalley for this copy to listen to in exchange for an honest review!
The Hotel Nantucket audiobook by Elin Hilderbrand is fantastic. I highly encourage you to listen to it. Erin Bennett's narrative in the audiobook makes this beautiful work of women's fiction grab your heart.
Synopsis:
Lizbet Keaton is looking for a fresh start after a disastrous breakup in a long-term relationship. She is hired as the general manager of The Hotel Nantucket. Having a staff of humorous colleagues makes this quite an adventure. The Hotel Nantucket was a decrepit old hotel that Lizbet's billionaire boss Xavier Darling exquisitely remodeled into a place of high-end vacation dreams.
Throughout the audio book, listeners will come across delightful Grace Hadley, a nineteen-year-old ghost who lives anonymously at the hotel after being killed in a fire in 1922. The spirit of Grace joyfully roams the hotel, haunting the staff and guests. Will this phenomenon scare off the guests? Will The Hotel Nantucket be a raging success with the elite clientele or a humiliating disaster?
The Hotel Nantucket audiobook is available on June 14th. The audiobook is magnificently funny with underlying touches of romance and heart-felt emotion. As Elin Hilderbrand describes the hotel you feel as if you are in the story. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you, NetGalley and Hachett Audio, Little, Brown & Company, for allowing me to review this outstanding audiobook. I am so in love with it that I have listened to it twice! Lol!
Is it really summer before a new Elin Hilderbrand novel is on the shelves? HUGE fan! I’ve been reading her for years for the perfect escape novel. I was thrilled to receive both the digital and audio versions of this book and enjoyed it thoroughly. I can’t say enough about her fun writing style and summer in Nantucket settings. It was a perfect summer escape with a likable characters, a little romance, a little bit of mystery, a little bit of conflict and a lot of relationships that build like found family. My favorite sections were the ones narrated by Grace the ghost.
Highly recommend this novel by @elinhilderbrand for your beach or poolside reading!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Little, Brown and Company and Hachette Audio via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity.
When lots of my bookish friends started talking about The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand, I knew I just needed to read or listen to a copy. When my request for the Audiobook was approved, I couldn’t keep the smile from my face! Read by Erin Bennett, I was enveloped completely into The Hotel Nantucket and its staff, residents and ghost (yes you read that correctly) from the moment they opened their doors to guests.
Following a fire in 1922 in which Grace, aged 19, tragically perished,, the hotel has never really been the same again, until now, when a billionaire from London has purchased it and wants The Hotel Nantucket to be simply the best. Elin takes us on the hotel’s journey and I definitely felt that the characters were becoming friends as I got to know all about them.
I have never travelled to Nantucket, but after listening to Erin Bennett put the author’s words so imaginatively into my ears, I would love to go. It sounds just like my sort of place. Nantucket now needs to be on an itinerary for one of our road trips!
I am new to Elin Hilderbrand and I really enjoyed my first insight into her world. I am now off to put her other books on my ‘to be read’ list.
An ideal book to tuck into your beach bag this summer. Just don’t get so captivated that the tide comes in behind you!
Thank you to NetGalley and Hatchette Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review an ARC of The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand.
This book was just the perfect escape to Nantucket! I loved the concept of a haunted hotel that was just bursting with secrets and scandal! Add in some compelling friendships and sizzling relationships, this one was hard to put down!
I relished with how well Hilderbrand was able to weave such a large and endearing cast of characters through multiple entertaining and intriguing storylines. I was fully connected and immersed in each and everyone of them and I never wanted it or them to end!
While I was able to foresee a bit of the mysterious reveal at the end, it was still executed flawlessly and I enjoyed it throughly!
This is such an ideal setting to be whisked away too making this the ultimate summer read that you need in your beach bag!

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand was exactly what I've been anticipating!
Elin can write a shopping list and I swear it would be a best seller! It's just what she does!.
Told from multiple viewpoints, we get to know each character, getting to know them more was such a rewarding experience. How their lives come together was special!
Another lovely summer beach read by Hilderbrand was like coming home to Nantucket!
The characters and setting are what make the reading experience delightful. I absolutely relished spending time with these interesting characters, and hearing their stories!
The narrators did such an outstanding job bringing this book life!
I can't wait till this book is in stories so I can add it to my Elin Collection!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Hachette Audio,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
Another awesome summer blockbuster for Elin Hilderbrand! May she write ad infinitum all the days of our ,lives!
This Nantucket novel, was focused on the people who work at The Hotel Nantucket, opened for its first summer season since it’s purchase and refurbishment by billionaire, Xavier Darling. It’s also haunted by Grace Hadley, a chambermaid who lost her life in a fire at the hotel in 1922. This was just a sweet, feel-good novel. A perfect summer read. A few prior characters from some of Hilderbrand’s earlier novels provide background and a continuity of island life and how small a town can be. I loved every second of it.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy of this novel.*
I loved this book. It has all the elements I look for in a book: great character development, an interesting storyline, a bit of a mystery, romance and strong female characters. I didn’t want it to end.
I loved the insight into the world of hotel management. Fans of the author will remember the detailed information about the restaurant business in her book The Blue Bistro. Indeed, several of the characters in many of the author’s other books set in Nantucket are mentioned.
The hotel sat empty for many years until Xavier Darling, a billionaire from the U.K., buys the hotel and is on a quest to receive the elusive ”Fifth Key” from a renowned travel blogger. This blogger has never awarded the Fifth Key to any of the hotels she has visited around the world. No expense is spared in the redevelopment of the hotel. The splendour and ambience within the hotel are highly featured. The reader is allowed in the doors before the hotel’s grand re-opening.
We meet the hotel’s General Manager, Lizbet Keaton as she begins a new chapter in her life. She’s left a relationship and position with a local chef/restauranteur after his infidelity. As Lizbet interviews and hires her staff, we learn a little bit about them as individuals. We learn a whole lot more about them as the story progresses. We’re even introduced to the hotel’s resident ghost who gives us insight into what’s happening at the hotel like no other.
There are many interesting guests at the hotel including a woman and her two young children who stay for the entire summer. As the summer progresses, the staff begin to anticipate with each new check-in if this could be the anonymous blogger. Those readers who enjoy a bit of mystery will appreciate this. The author also refers to playlists which correspond with events that are happening in Lizbet’s life – I thought this was a lot of fun.
I chose to listen to The Hotel Nantucket in audiobook format because of its narrator Erin Bennett. Once again, her performance was highly entertaining and easy to listen to. She has captured the personality of the book and I highly recommend this version of the book to those that appreciate this format.
As soon as I saw that The Hotel Nantucket, by Elin Hilderbrand was available on NetGalley, I requested it right away. I requested the audiobook. I loved her book The Perfect Couple, so I knew I’d enjoy this book too. This book was definitely engaging. It has mystery, romance, and humor. I like that the same narrator was used. Erin Bennett also read The Perfect Couple.
This book does have many characters, so I found myself having to repeat parts of chapters if I wasn’t paying 100% attention. I played the audiobook while driving, getting ready, and doing day to day stuff. I’m happy to say there were some twists in this book I wasn’t expecting. Grace was a funny ghost. I will be recommending this book!
I’ve also posted a review on Goodreads.
Thank you @NetGalley and @HachetteAudio for the audiobook.
I feel like I've just had a relaxing stay at the best resort in the world,! Fun, relaxing, a charming staff and a little intrigue as well! Thoroughly enjoyable!
Summer doesn't officially start until I have read a Hilderbrand. Her books just put me in the best summer mood.
The Hotel Nantucket is the perfect summer beach read. This story is set on Nantucket, as per usual with Hilderbrand. This follows the story of the first summer the Hotel Nantucket is back up and running after being closed after years of being abandoned. It is totally revamped and remodeled to be a five star showstopping hotel. The only hitch is that Grace, a chambermaid killed in a 1922 fire, is still there, haunting the hotel.
What I loved about this book was the fun group of characters. Hilderbrand really digs in and lets us get to know the backstories and reasons why these characters all ended up at the hotel. We get a mix of the employees and the guests as the story unfolds.
As always Hilderbrand's writing makes us feel like we are on the island. She brings up some of the usual spots that show up in her other books and it feels like we are back in her world.
I listened to the audio book for this one and it really brought this story to life. This is the same narrator that typically reads Hilderbrand's books, so this felt so perfect.
The Queen of the beach reads has another hit!
4.5 !
Ahhh, it was so nice to take another reading journey into beautiful Nantucket! Elin Hilderbrand leaves me wanting to travel to Nantucket every single time I read a book of hers.
Lizbet Keaton is assigned the task of taking this mediocre hotel with a bad reputation and an extensive history and flip it upside down. Getting to hear about the hotels past regarding Grace Hadley who was said to be murdered there in 1922 and is also said to still remain in the hotel, haunting the hallways within, oooooo.
I loved all the characters and the way the story unfolded. Filled with secrets, and gossip and drama while also focusing on the beautiful views, the incredible food and the hottest travel spots. Such a great summer drama!
I didn't get the chance to read Golden Girl before this one, so I have no idea who the character tie ins are in this story, so if you've read Golden Girl first, you may get an extra little surprise and update on some of those characters. That being said, this was also such a great story to read as a standalone and I'm glad I jumped to it straight away!
The last 75 pages or so includes a full travel guide to Nantucket - where to stay, where to eat, what to do and what to see. You can bet that one day when I get to travel there I will be packing this book with me and doing all the things recommended by Elin Hilderbrand herself. SUCH a wonderful touch to add to this great book!
Thank you so much Little, Brown and Company Publishing for sending me a beautiful physical advanced copy to read in exchange for an honest review!
This book is out June 14th, 2022!
This was super enjoyable!!!! I listened to the audiobook, but will review the overall story as well as recommend the audiobook. Erin Bennet (a new to me narrator!) did an absolutely fantastic job!!!
This romance was a mix of a few different types of reads. I am not one to normally pick up a book with "spirits" or "ghosts", but the addition of this into this book was a fun change! This was a multiple pov read,
This is a wonderful historical fiction read of sorts, I enjoyed every one of the characters, and with all of their different personalities, it made for a good all-around read.
I would definitely recommend this book and audiobook as well!
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to experience the story. This book, I would consider, to be a genre but I don’t normally pick up. So I am grateful to have had the chance to experience it.
Some might consider it to be a busy book. With lots of characters, lots of mini plots and stories within the main plot and story, and throw in a little bit of historical ghosts and you make for a story that is nonstop and keeps your attention. I am OK with that.
The main character Lizbet has many life upheavals to deal With during the summer in which the story takes place. Lost love, career change and challenge, an eccentric boss and a varied staff that in itself can make the mind boggle.
As the story stakes place during a Nantucket summer, it is not the only setting. We get to experience many other time periods, to get good point of reference, for the story that actually takes place during this one summer.
While it is not officially classified as a mystery, I would say that the revelation of the true background of some of the characters in the story, does lend a little air of mild mystery. Enough so to peak curiosity and compelled me to keep reading.
I feel like I could definitely read more by this author Elin Hilderbrand, even if the stories may not be the typical genres I seek out. This was an uplifting break from the normal books I consume.
I look forward to seeking out more from the author.
It’s not summer without a Elin Hilderbrand beach read! A little part mystery a little part romance and throw in a little ghost. What else do you need? It’s all wrapped in this solid five star book! I can’t say anything more besides way to go Elin you Rock!
Thank you Netgalley and Hatchette Audio for the ARC in exchange for my honest review
Thanks to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for this ARC coming out June 14. Ah this book was so enjoyable. I think summer is the perfect time to read it, and I’ve never wanted to visit Nantucket more.
The story follows employees, guests and resident ghost of the Hotel Nantucket, the newest establishment on Nantucket with a long and complicated history. The property is supposedly cursed, but that doesn’t stop a slightly egotistical billionaire from reopening it, just to impress a world-famous hotel reviewer and finally earn her first “five key” review.
I thought all the characters were perfectly developed and synced, and if you’ve read the Blue Bistro, there is such a fun character cross over here. This was one of my favorite ever from this author, much lighter and lower stakes than some of her books can be.
Don’t hesitate to pick this one up or gift it to a friend this summer!
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand is a refreshing change of pace from her usual novels while also keeping the light-hearted charm that characterizes her books.
Another marvelous summer read from the lovely Elin Hilderbrand! In my opinion, summer doesn’t start until I’ve read one of the author’s novels. Many thanks to Netgalley and Hachette Audio for allowing me to listen to it early. The hotel is the main focus and the showstopper in the author’s latest. It’s basically the prime character, and the employees and long-term guests have glorious little side stories. The best part? A ghost is haunting the hotel! Oooh, yes! So much fun. The Hotel Nantucket is classic Elin Hilderbrand with tons of drama, romance, and scandal.
