Angsty friends to lovers - with years in between - and a second chance that both may fear is too late. Some good characters and small town feel give the story substance and interesting context.

"Lost and Found" by Gina L. Maxwell is a captivating romance that takes you on a journey of self-discovery and love, leaving you rooting for the characters' happiness.

Okay, this was yet another thrilling read for me. Aside from the usual Beauty and the Beast or Sleeping Beauty retellings, I'd like to read some new fairytale retellings.

However, this one was a massive letdown. I'm not sure, there are so many things that could have been better, especially the plot and characters, but they were squandered.

Am I a sucker for a retelling? You bet your behind I am which is why I'm so disappointed that this didn't work.

I've always adored Peter and Wendy as a pairing but something was missing which had me putting the book down numerous times to the point I genuinely forgot I was reading it.

The pacing was off from the beginning and things just seemed to happen without much thought being put into it. The side characters snatched my attention while the main characters whithered.

Sadly it's 2.5 stars rounded to 3 for review purposes

Not my favorite retelling of Peter Pan. The story took to long for me to get into this story. I found the writing and characters underwhelming., did not enjoy.

It wasn't a bad book, not at all, but I just didn't connect with it. It's said to be a Peter Pan retelling but really it's just a "what if I just used their names in my own story' kind of book. I would not categorise this as a retelling.
I was kinda bored for most of the book. The stakes weren't high enough. Peter wasn't bad boy enough. The characters barely had a personality. Everything was just surface level, and I like my books a little deeper.

Lost and found by Gina L Maxwell

When I started to read this I started to realise it a twist on Peter Pan which is not a favourite of mine. I was very hopeful of it but it did fall short for me. Although it was well written and a bit of a second chance romance affair.

Furthermore the first part is far darker story than the original and Wendy has a bit of a bland personality for me. If you enjoy the original then I’m sure you’d enjoy the novel but unfortunately it didn’t work for me . Although for the right reader it would be a good quick read.

First off, like an idiot, I didn't realize this was a Peter Pan retelling. Honestly, that's where I stopped. The intro also took really long and felt like it was set so long ago or like in a parallel universe. I just couldn't get hooked. (Sorry, bad pun.)

I really wanted to enjoy this and liked the premise. The writing was done well but I felt nothing for either character all that much and the Peter Pan concept started to annoy me…..it was too literal with similarities in some aspects

This one drew me in because hello peter pan my fave.

It had so mant nods to the original story that I fell in love with as a kid but also things that I wanted as an adult too.

Peter Pan and Wendy but as an actual romance novel? And Steam? It feels so wrong it's right,

I’m a sucker for good characters, and this book doesn’t disappoint. Each character is written well. They 're not flawless, which makes the story more believable.

Wendy Darling returns to Neverland to ask her long lost love Peter for help - Never did she expect their connection to still be there and even better than before.

Cannot wait to read the next one!

I have always been a fan of Peter Pan and am drawn to different interpretations of the story. When I saw this retelling type story on NetGalley I had to give it a try and see if it lived up to the OG story. I do believe this book really did an amazing job brining in all the elements of the original story but bring it into a modern time and adding an amazing romance.

What I loved:
- Locations, I really liked how both London and Neverland were built into the book as towns close to each other with one being safe versus not
- Timelines, the flashback chapters were some of my favorites cause I'm a sucker for a backstory and I loved learning how Peter and Wendy grew up together
- Characters, all of the characters from the original story were included in this book in fun ways with the lost boys growing up in a home together with there little mascot Tinkerbell
- Spicy, this book did a great job with the innocence of first love in the past and the want and desire that comes with second chance love

Overall I had a really had time putting this book down once I started it, at the end of each chapter I was just dying to know what would happen next. I am excited to read the next in the series, its about a VERY broody Hook and would even love more stories for the rest of the characters. If you are a fan of classic retellings with second chance romance and a good amount of spice this is the book for you!

Actual Rating 3.5 stars

This is a dark fairytale retelling of Peter Pan. I have a feeling from hints the author drops that some of the 'Lost Boys' are going to have some very dark experiences in their stories.

I found the character of Wendy a bit bland in comparison to everyone else.

I hope Hook has his own story. While typically the villan I think this incarnation of Hook will have earned his happy ever after

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I just love Gina’s books!! I’m so happy I was given this one to caught up on this series as I was reading out of order!! I enjoy retelling of fairytales & this one is no exception! Peter Pan take was so wonderful, fun, & steamy! Peter & Wendy finally get their love story! It makes my Disney loving heart happy! I loved everything about this!! The story really does give you a little bit of everything! I can’t wait for Tink’s story!!

This Peter Pan retelling is a contemporary romance, featuring steamy scenes and a take on the story that eliminates fantasy elements.

It felt like instead of an investment in the plot that the first 25% was establishing direct nods and connections to the original story. It was cute in concept but could not hold my interest. If you enjoy dual timelines, steamy scenes and are seeking less of a plot driven book you may enjoy this!!

A Peter Pan retelling with a twist!
A contemporary modern life style Peter Pan retelling with a second chance romance and some spicy moments as well, an intriguing combination and enchanting in an entirely different way.

The story is well written and well paced which has dual timeline- the past and present timeline with mainly dual POV from Wendy and Peter.
I love the idea of the Lost Boys, the pirate crew and the Darling family living in the same modern world as we are.

The characters are pretty well developed, I really love reading about them in the past timeline when they were just teenagers falling in love for the first time.
The present timeline is also enjoyable with the second chance romance. Their attraction rekindle very fast, it's very fortunate that there's a past timeline that shows how their relationship grows so it didn't feel like an insta-love situation.

Overall, this is the perfect read for people who enjoy reading a quick and simple contemporary romance with a little bit of magic in it.
It's enjoyable, entertaining and I have a good time seeing another version of Peter Pan story.
Definitely looking forward to read the next book about Hook and other books from Gina!

This didn’t do it for me. The writing was fine but I think it may have been better if it didn’t try to be a Peter/Wendy story. Like the whole idea that it’s in North Carolina just didn’t hit for me.

Thank you to Netgalley & Gina L. Maxwell for the opportunity to do this Arc review.

This is definitely not the Peter Pan you grew up with, this was a darker and steamier retelling.
I quite enjoyed the dynamic of the book it had such a fun premise.

I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good fairytale retelling.

I loves both in the series greatly written peter pan retellings. Brilliantly written. Keeps you sucked in throughout. Amazingly well done retelling of the famous novel by JM Barrie. Smutty and thrilling 5 stars easy!!!

Not the Peter Pan you grew up with. This is a darker and steamier retelling. Peter and his Lost Boys are actually mechanics and Wendy was a childhood friend at the same orphanage. Now they are grown up and Wendy is back, needing Peter to help her restore an antique car for an auction. Hook, Tink and the whole crew are all there, just not quite how you remember them.

I liked it. I love Peter Pan retellings but this one was fairly straightforward in both the steamy romantic parts and with the retelling parts. It was good but didn’t blow me away. If you love Peter Pan it’s worth a read. Very light. More of a weekend beach read.
