In Breaking the Friendzone, sparks fly as two lifelong friends realize their hearts have been speaking louder than their words all along. With witty banter, swoon-worthy moments, and just the right amount of tension, the author crafts a charming, feel-good romance that feels as comfortable as it is exciting. It’s a perfect reminder that sometimes, the love you’ve been searching for is right in front of you.
This just wasn't the story for me and I had to DNF. I have so many books to read and I don't have time to pushing through if I am not feeling the story.
I couldn't do it. The writing feels very technical and not at all what I'd like in a novel to be. Even on just the prologue the characters are six and both talk like a baby and like a prestigious award presenter. It was weird. And k have a six year old so I know how they communicate. I feel like the premise of this book has such promise and if you can get past the clunky writing you might enjoy it. However, I could not, so I did not. I am, however, always so impressed by authors ability to create stories and their willingness to be reviewed. That's an incredible level of bravery.
This is a great third-chance romance that really had me rooting for them to work out. I really love all the build-up and history between them.
⭒ Rating: 4,5 stars
This was such a great read. I love a good friends to lovers/ second chance romance. These two were fun and so good together. I enjoyed reading their journey.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book in return for an honest review.
DNF’ed at 13%. Just not my cup of tea. If you aren’t looking for a slow burn, this might be the book for you. It just gave me the ick.
2/5 stars! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.
This book was just not for me. I could barely get through it. and the whole "I used to be bigger and uglier but now that I’m pretty and skinny we can be together" thing pissed me off and could not get passed it.
Worth a read! The complicated storyline of Lacey and Luke, combined with the spice, is a perfect read for Wattpaders ♡
I finally got around to rating this one! It was enjoyable and i did like it, however it felt a little cliché but i didn’t mind! The characters had good chemistry and i enjoyed the story line! However it felt like it dragged towards the end and i had to motivate myself heavily to finish it. But overall it was a good book!
I did enjoy this book to begin with however I felt that after a while I found it was not really for me.
Ahh I just couldn't like this book. It started out really cliche and it ended cliche. I was looking for something new. This book just wasn't for me.
It was good, but felt a little rushed. There were definitely some high cringe moments, and I felt like a lot of details weren't wrapped up (what happened with her dad), but a solid 3 star read.
Cliché but reminds of the good old Wattpad stories back in 2014, awesome for a quick read, the characters were not that memorable but they had good chemistry
Thank you Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, W by Wattpad Books and netgalley for this arc. It was a crazy and young love. Told by two poibt if view make you feel really ito want to know everything. Hampton area always attracts me. Loved everyrhing about
This was a fast paced story. Also written with a dual POV which I really liked.
The writing style was good, but I liked the first half of the book more than the second half.
There was a lot of drama, so sometimes it kind of felt like a soap opera. The ending felt a bit rushed but was good!
I also liked the side characters and their friendship with the main characters.
In my opinion there was a bit to much spice in the story for the YA genre.
Thank you for the e-arc! I would rate this book 3.5
Lacey Mason had the best times of her life at her family's beach house in the Hamptons. That's where she met her friend Lucas Drake. After her parents sold the beach house, Lacey and Luke kept in touch until they were 15 when a bad encounter ended their friendship. When her mom passes away she makes Lacey promise to never fall for Lucas. At the age of 22 she returns to the Hamptons for spring break, and a night of partying lands her in Lucas' bed. He doesn't recognize her and and she sees it as karma, while he thinks he found his dream girl.
I liked how it went back and forth between Lacey's POV and Luke's. It told both sides of the story and made you see what happened in the past. This was a great romance with an interesting storyline. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
I really enjoyed this read! It is a quick read, which is just what I needed. I love Lacey and Luke, they are so good together! Their interactions definitely had me smiling. I do wish I had a better understanding of exactly what happened when Luke and Lacey stopped being friends. I also wanted more details surrounding Mary's death, since I am still left with so many questions. I will say, it was quite hard to read the arc at first because it didn't seem to be formatted for kindle correctly, but I was able to get over that as I continued reading. Overall, this is a quick, enjoyable read with a lot of twists and turns that definitely captured and kept my attention. I only wish there were more detail and the ending was wrapped up a bit better.
cute cute cute cute cute!!
There is no other way to describe this book
3.5/5 stars
loved it
thank you netgalley for the arc
I really wanted to like this one. The story started off well, but the writing was cringeworthy at some points and took away from the story. Towards the end, it became a mystery? I don’t know, it kind of went all over the place, but the language was the main turn off for me.

Well that started out pretty spicy! 🥵🌶🔥
Lacey Mason and Luke Drake were inseparable as children. They were the best of friends after meeting on the beaches of the Hamptons, summers ago. At the age of fifteen, things changed. Luke up and ended their friendship and then Lacey's mother dies. She needed Luke's friendship more than ever.
Lacey is now twenty two and on spring break in the Hamptons. Spring break means partying and drinking the night away with her friends. That night she runs into Luke but he has absolutely no idea who she is. Out of spite she makes it a night he won't soon forget. Luke is crazy for this new arrival in the Hamptons, until they both start their internships at their parents company, Drake-Mason Pharma, the very next morning.
Can Luke and Lacey revive their old friendship..... and maybe more? I really liked this book! I recommend for a spicy, friends to lovers troupe 😉.
Thank you to @netgalley and @wattpadbooks for this gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review
