I love EVERYTHING from KM- her books are fantastic. This book is the same- the narrator and the story kept me listening.

3 stars~

This thriller was... well it wasn't really my favorite. I lost interest through most of the first half of the book, and the main character's choices and mindset often irked me to be honest.

The book overall: it was an interesting thriller, but was very much centered around infidelity and the premise of "the other woman". It was so much so that it seemed repetitive at times - this made it difficult to continue reading. If it weren't for that aspect, it would have been a much more engaging thriller in my opinion.

Narration: I liked the narration, it was engaging. The narration could have been a bit livelier though at times.

Somehow Kiersten Modglin continues to get me, time after time. I just never, ever see it coming. How?!? A super fast listen that kept me enthralled the entire time!

Such a fast-paced and truly delicious story. It was a unique twist on a story we've heard before. I loved Dan and truly enjoyed getting to know Edith. The ending was fantastic too. 5 well-earned stars!

Uh yeah so Wow, this one caught me off guard because usually, I know or at least have an idea of what's really going on and rarely am thrown off like this story threw me. Needless to say, after listening to this audiobook, I want to listen to more of Kiersten Modglin's stories on audio. This was a very well-done audiobook and the narrator, Devon Sorvari, nailed the character, the story, and everything.
It's a very fast-paced mystery/thriller listen and I almost listened to it all in one sitting. The story is about Edith, who's married to Joe, and he's a 'real winner' let me tell ya. Unfortunately, I do/have known the 'Joe' types in real life so I can relate some to how Edith feels when she finds pictures of another woman on his phone. Edith has strong suspicions of Joe cheating, but she decides to take matters into her own hands and find the truth for herself by herself. What becomes a mission for the truth turns entirely into something else by the end though. As the focus starts on whether Joe is cheating and with who etc, I kept trying to figure it out throughout the whole story and I could not figure it out until that twist at the end that changed everything.
If you haven't read or listened to any books by Kiersten Modglin then pick this one up and check it out. I highly recommend the audio because it brings the story to life so much more, along with the characters and sucks you right in. Devon Sorvari does an amazing job narrating and bringing this world and story to life with the audiobook version. Thanks so much to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for letting me listen and review this fantastic ALC (advanced listening copy). All thoughts and opinions are my own.

One book after another Katherine Modglin has earned her statues of being the Queen of Twists for very good reason!
Just when you think you have read every domestic psychological thriller under the sun, she pulls a new one out.
If you love small town gossip and twisty tales, you will be blown away by this new favorite of mine.

Plus, the narration by Devon!! The very first paragraph she spoke I paused the audiobook and relistened to it again and again, loving that southern drawl. I knew immediately she was the perfect narrator to play the characters in this book!

2.5? 3? I dunno. There was no real depth to the story or characters. This was my first Modglin book and probably won't be my last. I'll give her another shot. Maybe this just wasn't the book for me?

The narrator or was fine, but coming from someone who actually lives in the south, I'd rather the speaker have no accent rather than a fake southern one. That was terrible.

I had just finished listening to The Amendment audiobook, which I loved, when I decided to request this story in audiobook. Unfortunately, this story is no where near as good, which left me very disappointed. I thought the narrator was very good but the story left me bored and agitated.

This was a short, fast paced thriller that kept me hooked. It was pretty predictable throughout, but the ending was fulfilling. I enjoyed the fact that there were strong female characters - that is so rare in a thriller. This isn't the one for someone looking for a deep, psychological thriller with twists and turns, but it is a fun little journey that leaves you rooting for a character throughout.

Thank you netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.

Modglin is quickly becoming a favorite author. I enjoyed this story, the characters, the pace, and how the book wraps up. Overall this is a very quick paced, easy and quick read as well. I ended up staying up late to finish the book on a work night, that’s how invested I became. Well done!

A husband lying to his wife. A wife becoming obsessed with finding the truth which turns into her keeping secrets too. Edith and Joe are a married couple with past infidelity tainting the trust in their marriage. When Edith finds photos of a woman on Joe’s phone all the past insecurities come back to the forefront. This causes Edith to hunt for the truth with her best friend Dan’s help, but what are the truths and what are the lies?
This story was a very slow build. As a listener/reader I didn’t feel like details were connecting allowing to us to see how things were coming together. The ending of the story did give us all the answers, but it was more of a recap of what had happened versus a clarification of how the details came together, which I felt stole a little bit of the shock value. This is my second Kiersten Modglin book. The first one I read, The Arrangement, seemed to gives us the details to draw conclusions and ended with providing answers to where the reader may have missed details, which provided more of a shocking conclusion. It was also a bit quicker pace. I was hoping for the same out of Tell Me the Truth, but it just didn’t get there for me.
Unfortunately I had a difficult time with Edith as a character. I couldn’t picture her as a young woman. I kept picturing Edith and Joe in their 50’s and kept thinking the storyline was immature for a couple in their 50’s. The name, Edith, probably played a big part of the reason, but also the narration seemed that of an older woman. The narrator was pleasant enough to listen too, but it just didn’t fit with a younger woman. This became a huge distraction for me. I did really enjoy Dan’s character. I really wished he would have played a larger role in the book. He was the character that brought a younger vibe.
Overall, the book was good just not great for me. A few tweaks and I think it would have translated a lot better.

The MC really annoyed me. She wasn’t thinking logically and therefore I just couldn’t get on board with her plans fully. I know you have to suspend some of your judgements for a thriller like this, but she just ground my gears too much. And the ending unfortunately didn’t make the struggle worth it. It just didn’t have that WOW factor that I expect my thrillers/mysteries to have.

Tell Me The Truth by thriller queen Kiersten Modglin hits the mark for a fun revengeful twist thriller.

Edith is done when she finds photos of a woman on her husband's phone. She forgave him once for cheating but never again. He has excuses, seems sincere and is so attentive. So she does what any wife would do she lies, hides and investigates to get to the truth.

Narrator Devon Sorvari was amazing at getting to the heart of Edith's frustration, confusion and eventual conviction. I had whip lash about hubby's guilt but loved the team tag finish.

This Review Is For The Audiobook

This book was okay but it dragged on for me. I love this author but this wasn’t one of my favorites of hers. I predicted the end twist which is so rare for me with this author I am normally very very shocked and surprised with the ending, but not with this one . I didn’t connect with any of the characters so that could also be why I didn’t love this book but I still enjoyed reading it, it just not a book I would read again.

I sadly did not enjoy listening to this audiobook. I didn't care for the plot nor the characters. The writing felt mediocre and redundant. I kept waiting for something to happen. It seemed to take forever for the plot to move forward and, by then, I just didn't really care all that much. The ending felt rushed. The narration was a little hard to follow too. The characters didn't sound that different.

And she does it AGAIN, with every book I just keep saying she is the QUEEN of psychological thrillers. With every book I say this is a favorite, and I sound like a broken record, but yep, I will keep saying it. I can't get enough of her. I received a copy of #TellMeTheTruth from #Netgalley and #DreamScapeMedia in exchange for my honest review, and I absolutely loved it. Kierstin Modglin really makes her characters feel real, relatable and they just jump off the page. You think you have her figured out, then bam, out of nowhere she hits you with another plot twist and sends you into a tailspin. This one was no different. I love a good cheating husband plot, but this isn't like any normal cheating husband plot. Just do yourself a favor and read or listen to this one. You won't regret it. I devoured this one in two sittings. She knows how to pick the best narrators that help to bring her stories and characters to life. I bow down to the queen of psychological thrillers. On to the next Kmod novel.

3.5 rounded up to 4. This wasn't my favorite KMod book. I felt like a lot of this book was the husband and wife having the same argument. I just wanted to keep yelling at her that if she didn't trust her husband she should leave him instead of rehashing things over and over lol. I also had a problem with some of the restaurant scenes, this is me being very nitpicky after being a waitress for a long time. BUT I don't often read books with characters who work at a restaurant so at the same time I did enjoy that aspect. I listened to this on audio and its a quick listen! I have the digital copy, but I ended up listening to the whole thing! Very easy to listen to on audio. I thought the narrator did a great job and her voice fit the character well. I wasn't able to predict the ending, I thought the ending was great. Even though this wasn't my favorite, I will still be looking forward to reading her newest one soon!

2.5 stars. This just wasn't good. This book is about a woman who spends like 85% of the book trying to prove that her husband is cheating on her. The only thriller element of this book is in the last chapter when the big confrontation happens. There are so many things that are so unbelievable in this book its laughable. The writing style was fine and I wanted to keep reading to see if something was going to happen so I'm giving it 2.5, but this was not good and makes me scared to read her others!

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Our main character is married to a guy who spends half his time living with his senior mom and dad. However, we find out in the end that they're actually dead and he's living a double life with another woman. SHE HAS NEVER MET HIS PARENTS?! And yet he lives with them half the time?? WHAT!? The women team up and kill him in the end. He killed his parents and his first wife so they get revenge. They're both pregnant with his baby. Woohoo. Dumb.

Kiersten does it again!! This plot seemed real and I loved hearing the twists and rooting for Edith the whole way through. Of course the biggest twist comes toward the last few chapters, but the story did a great job building the suspense until then.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Kiersten Modglin for providing an ARC of the audiobook for my honest review.
