This was like I was watching a television show, and I couldn't look away.
The book mainly focuses on Edith and Joe. Joe is Edith's husband and he's a compulsive liar, and always seems to gaslight.
There were some things that were unbelievable to me in the story, but I won't elaborate on them due to spoilers but Edith seems to take Joe's word's to heart and trusts him completely time and time again.
The pacing was alright, things got very interesting in book later on and I was beside myself on the things that Edith was doing. I typically don't read books about cheating spouses, but I decided to give this book a try. The ending does have a plot twist that I didn't see coming, but I enjoyed that twist.
The narrator, Devon Sorvari did a wonderful performance. The variety of tones, inflections, and accent were a great addition to the book.

Special thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

This was actually my favorite Kiersten Modglin book. It was entertaining and wasn’t too long. Just the perfect amount of book. Some of her books seem long winded and just useless information.
This was also one that I truly felt was a mystery . I did not think I could trust the narrators point of view. I love those types of books!
I would recommend this. I also feel the narrator was great!

As always a quick, twisty, bingeworthy read by Modglin! I did have to suspend belief a few times and want to shake the main character a few more times. Can you imagine never meeting your in laws even after you’re married. How about when your husband spends half the week living with them and taking care of them?
I enjoyed the southern accent of the audiobook narrator.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audio arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book resonated with me because it was as if I was living in my past relationship. The husband, Joe, makes Edith feel like she’s going crazy to a point when she points out things to him. However, I have a hard time believing some of the parts like being together for 3 years and not meeting his parents? Did Edith think of never going to see them? And when supposedly his Mom gets lost and they are on a little getaway why wouldn’t she offer to go with him? Some of the points don’t add up. However, I say this and I’ve lived through parts similar that someone else might say wouldn’t you realize this was happening?
I enjoyed the book and wanted to find out how it would end. Some of the twists that happened I didn’t expect. However there were times I wanted to shake Edith and tell her to walk away.
Thank you #Netgalley and Dreamscape for the advance copy and my unbiased review.

Name of Book: Tell Me the Truth
Author: Kiersten Modglin
Genre: Psychological Domestic Thriller
Publisher: Dreamscape Media LLC
Pub Date: May 10, 2022
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.3 Stars
This is my sixth novel by author, Kiersten Modglin; she became my fav author back in June 2021 when I read [book: Just Married|58007610]. Now when I finish one of her books, I immediately ask “What’s next?” ~ Yes! I am a big psychological thriller fan and her twists and turns keep me asking for more!
Setting: Small town Dale, Georgia.
Edith and Joe have been married for two years. Story starts with Edith once again asking Joe to tell her the truth. She finds photos of women on his phone and he lies about them. She set out to find the truth.
Since this is Kiersten Modglin story I knew I was in for some twists and turns; which, of course, happened. It wasn’t the big WOW I was expecting. It was a fast read!
Although I was pulling for Edith she was a so-so character, she had me either rolling my eyes or wanting to shake her. However, Joe also had me rolling my eyes.
Edith’s friend Dan was a fun character!

Quick read with a refreshing ending, even if it is a little soapy and “Lifetime movie”. I especially liked Edith’s gay best friend, Dan. Great narrator too. I do think the name Edith was a bit out of place for a modern young southern woman. Evie might be more on point.

🌟🌟🌟.5
When I need a quick, addictive, twisted read, Kiersten Modglin is my go-to author. I don’t know how she manages to do it. Her books are never disappointing!
This cover is seductively elegant and I couldn’t pass it up. Her cover art is always incredible!
This domestic thriller is filled with the secrets and twists that #kmod is so well-known for. Edith has had trouble trusting her husband since his infidelity. Joe promised it would never happen again, but she sees red flags everywhere. Is he up to his old tricks or is she being paranoid?
This wasn’t as good as the author’s previous work, but it’s still an interesting audiobook. And the amusing conclusion was very pleasing.
Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing this audio arc through NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion.

Wow, what a ride. This one will keep you guessing who is telling the truth right up to the end. This was my first book by this author but won’t be the last. I listened to the audio book and loved the narration. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.

Another winner, Kiersten Modglin never disappoints!! I listened to the audio version of this book (the narrator was perfect!) in well under a day- it would have been all in 1 sitting if I had the choice!

This was a quick read about a woman who's been betrayed once by her husband and is now afraid to trust him. When she finds photos of another woman on his phone, she wants to believe him when he says he doesn't know how they got there, but she's understandably suspicious. The book held me in suspense as to whether the husband was lying or not.
There were several wild surprises as the book neared its conclusion, which lifted the rating from a 3 to a 4. I appreciated the demonstrations of female solidarity.
Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a free audio version of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I don't want to give anything away, but I can say that this was a fast-paced domestic suspense that I kept eagerly coming back to. I found the characters believable and the situation all too familiar: a wife who is certain her husband is cheating, while he has a sensible explanation for just about everything.
Is Edith crazy? She's definitely lacking in common sense and needs a boost of self esteem. Has she let Joe's previous transgression taint her view of him and his trustworthiness? Or is Joe really a perpetual cheater? Edith's creative searches for the truth will likely destroy her marriage, whether Joe is lying or isn't, and it's a wild ride to find out who is really hiding what.
Five stars because I found it so compelling and easy to read, but I get how some people might rate it lower because the gaslighting husband thriller is not original and has kind of been overdone in recent years.

What a great domestic suspense thriller. I wasn’t sure who to believe or what the heck was actually going on till the end.
Thank you Netgalley, Kiersten Modglin, and the publishers for the audio ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced audio book.
I was very excited to listen to this as it is the first book I have read by Kiersten Modglin. I was looking forward to a twisty thriller. Sadly, that is not what I got.
I would not classify this as a psychological thriller. It was crazy but not thrilling. Tell Me the Truth is a great title for this book. It is nothing but a bunch of lies.
I did not like Edith. She was a horrible person. She is married to Joe and has reason to not trust him as he has cheated on her in the past. Now she is suspicious of everything he does and finds pictures of another woman on his phone so she is trying to catch him cheating again. Most of the book is Edith, acting crazy and being manipulative. I really did not like it. She was very unlikable. Joe, in the end, turns out to be horrible as well.
Overall, not worth the time to listen to it. I will give this author another chance as I have heard great things about her writing. This was just not it.

I love love love this author and will read anything she writes. The first half of this book was a little confusing but the second half made up for it. 4 stars overall and I can’t wait for the next book!
Thank you to the publisher and net galley for an arc copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love a good, basic, domestic thriller but this was something if you had read this plot before you won't is surprised. Take what you will with that. If you want a quick read I would recommend this but if you're looking for a domestic thriller with a different aspect I wouldn't. It was fine.

Tell Me the Truth by Kiersten Modglin
Thank you #NetGalley #Dreamscape Media and Author for letting me view this title.
This was a good read! The gaslighting was strong in this book, and it really made you want to scream! I really like how the author can layer her story and unfold it. I really like how Kiersten ends her books, it’s A great strength she has.

WOW, just WOW! Kiersten does it again, and creates a rollercoaster ride. I loved this book so much and was hooked from the beginning!

I get the feeling Kiersten Modglin is known for her soapy domestic thrillers, and Tell Me the Truth certainly lives up to that description. I listened to the audiobook and found that it was short and fast-paced, and I was locked in from the very beginning.
Main character Edith discovers some unsavory things about her husband Joe and decides to investigate. I found it amusing that Edith lies and deceives so that she can investigate Joe's lying and deceiving, even if on two different levels. Edith comes across as an unreliable narrator; I wasn't sure if I was supposed to trust her or not. I think this feeling came from how very gullible Edith is; I kept thinking Surely she knows better than this....
A few negatives: I wanted Edith to be stronger. I didn't love the gaslighting plot thread. I also secretly wondered how our young, newly married main character has a name like Edith. The narrator of the audiobook has a Southern accent (real or no?) that put me off just a little bit; since the story is set in Georgia, I understand the choice. The cover is gorgeous but somehow doesn't fit at all with the actual story.
The positives: The best part of the book is Edith's best friend Dan. He is loyal, loveable, and fiercely protective of Edith. The book is short and to the point. Once you get started, it's a fast ride to the finish. The ending is fairly shocking and soap-opera-dramatic.
Overall thoughts: I would read another Kiersten Modglin book when I am looking for a quick read with domestic drama rather than deep characters and a clever plot. There is certainly a right time for this type of book, and I did enjoy it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

3.5 ⭐️ This was a quick, suspenseful read. I wasn’t sure who to trust until the very end! I listened to this book and loved the narrator.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook.
The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin is honestly one of the best thrillers I've ever read. Ever since then, I've been reading so many of her other books, just hoping to find one that measures up. I've failed every time, and Tell Me the Truth was a major flop.
I didn't like any of the characters and the plot line was repetitive and boring. The ending was WAY overexplained and so far fetched. It was rushed and just so completely unbelievable.
Disappointed, for sure.
