Det. Erika Foster is on the hunt again..this time for a serial killer who removes all the evidence at the scenes. A young drama school student is brutally murdered and inner investigation, Erika comes across similar cases that the victim was researching through her podcasts. The search is on and the twists and turns are rapidly thrown at you, one right after another. She focuses on the case completely and painstakingly follows where the leads, that are ever changing, take her.
A very good follow up to her first story.
Detective Erika Foster is single because her husband Mark was killed in a shoot-out along with 4 more of her colleagues. As the book opens, she hears a scream and investigates a murder. More murders follow and they all seem to be related. Bryndza takes you down a lot of rabbit holes - searching for the predator.
If this sounds like the formula for a who dunnit, well, it is, but somehow this particular book kept me reading maddeningly. I would get frustrated when my eyes would no longer focus and I'd have to put the book down. Really, Bryndza should offer Visine along with her book.
I was somewhat disappointed in the ending, but that doesn't take away from the incessant page turning. And I can't put my finger on "why" I was so compelled to finish - I just know that I was.
They say good things come to those who wait and we have been waiting a long time for the next book in the Erika Foster series and all I can say is, that it was so worth the wait!
Page turningly good, it had me hooked throughout with more twists and turns than a roller coaster! Have so missed Erika and was great to be back with her and the team again. Such a chilling case that kept me guessing. Brilliant!
Fatal Witness (Detective Erika Foster Crime Thriller Book 7) by Robert Bryndza is a pretty good mystery. The ending wrapped up a bit fast, but overall, the story was good. The characters were well developed, and I liked getting to know them. The story was well-paced and quite a page-turner. I kept going back and forth, guessing who was responsible.
Even though this is the 7th book in the series, I've read a couple before but didn't feel I missed anything by reading this one out of order. I enjoyed the authors writing style and would recommend this book and this series.

I loved this book! I haven't read any previous Erika books but I'm certainly going to go back. I couldn't read it quick enough, I needed to find out what happened and it had me guessing the whole way along!! Brilliantly written an absolute must read.
This is the 7th book in the Erika Foster Series and it didn't disapoint, I loved this one just as much as I have loved all the others in the series.
It was a real page turner that had me gripped from the start. The plot is intriguing and fast paced. It has plenty of twists and turns that will keep you guessing right up until the very end.
Thank you Raven Street Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of Fatal Witness by Robert Bryndza in exchange for my honest review. I read this book pretty quickly because it just kept me guessing and I had to know who did it! I was very excited when I finished the book to find out that there are a series of books featuring detective Erika Foster and this was #7. Obviously, they don't need to be read in order but I probably would have known more about Erika's background and character if I had read the others first. This one featured a horrific murder that sends Erika on the hunt for the killer. Many characters seem odd enough to be the primary suspect but Erika doesn't quite put it together until its almost too late. I enjoyed this twisty thriller and can't wait to read more of Bryndza's books!
Fatal Witness is the latest in the DCI Erika Foster series with a new serial killer case where it seems the killer has destroyed all the evidence. Whilst walking back to her new home, Erika stumbles on a murder scene, the brutalised body of Vicky Clarke. She’s assigned to work the case and it appears Vicky was working on a true crime podcast about a sexual predator. Could this be linked to her death? However all is not as it seems with this case and when another body is found in the same building, Erika and her team must do all they can to bring the killer to justice.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s fast-paced and grippy and will have you enthralled to the end. Thank you to NetGalley, Raven Street Publishing and the author for the chance to review.
I missed Erika. I love her and feel terrible most of the time for her. Well she is somehow better and feeling almost normal but she has really no luck in life. Beeing a stranger, losing her partner, losing so many things but she is still there helping the others and her family. It was a quick listening and also a part reading, I like the twists and I was never guessing what happened in the story thT is why I like the book.
Thank you Raven Street publising for this special alc and and arc verisons.
Robert Bryndza is a master of the crime thriller genre, and he proves so with his latest book, Fatal Witness.
I had never read one of his books before getting an ARC of this one through #NetGalley, but Bryndza is so skilled a writer that this book easily stands on its own, drawing the new reader in with complex characters who are easy to care about and a twisted mystery that keeps you guessing all the way through.
From the opening that wallops you with a shocking and brutal murder to the twists and turns of a fast-paced investigation and the grand finale that reveals the killer in a shocking fashion, there is not a moment when the author lets up, much like his main character. I am cautious about saying more because I don't want to accidentally include spoilers. Everyone needs to experience this thrill ride without any accidental disclosures.
This will likely be the thriller of the summer, and you cannot go wrong reading it as #ErikaFosterReturns.
This book is a page turner! It is chilling and the characters terrifying with twists from the first page. Can’t help but to jeep reading, a real page turner! This book is a 4 star book!!
This was my first Erika Foster book. Wasn’t sure what to expect.it was a rollercoaster white knuckle ride.
This is my first exposure to this author and it definitely did not disappoint! This is a well-written, suspenseful, complex, edge-of-your-seat thriller that will leave you breathless at times in anticipation of the next twist in the plot of which there are many.
The author’s well-developed characters, who you will love to hate, make this a visceral and riveting read. None of them are whom they appear to be. This provocative, somewhat dark and twisted story grabs you from the first page and keeps you guessing until the very end.
Thank you to Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Erika Foster is back!!
I really couldn’t wait to get started with this one.
What a great plot. Very clever, easy to read and a true page-turner.
Right from the off the tension was there for me and I was hooked in again by this fab author. The opening chapter was Oh. My. Gosh!
Erika has literally just moved to a new area and still hasn’t unpacked anything. She chooses to have a takeaway from the chippy round the corner, and when walking home she hears a sickening scream from nearby. Of course, she checks it out and comes across an awful scene. The scream came from a woman who had called to see her sister and found a body.
Erika Foster. I love this woman. She never gives up does she?
It was good to reacquaint with Peterson, Moss and Isaac.
A brilliant story, gripping and thrilling. Some unexpected twists and turns, and some unsavoury and questionable characters. I had suspicions and was wrong at every turn.
I couldn’t stop reading, it’s packed with action.
I’ve recommended Robert Bryndza’s books to everyone. He’s a global superstar!! He’s also very down to earth and always has time to reply to a message.
If you've never read any books by Robert Bryndza....why not?!
Start now! Start with the 'Girl in the Ice'...go on, do it, do it now!! 😊
Thanks to Raven Street Publishing and NetGalley for the review copy in which I give my honest opinion.
I am always excited when the next book in Erika's story is released. This one was like greeting an old friend again. I recognise her ways and her methods as she has become a real person to the reader. However, I felt this one wasn't as exciting as the others. I read it, I enjoyed it it just was not my favourite. Still looking forward to the next instalment.
Five stars! A brilliant continuation of the Erika Foster series, worth the wait! Loved it! I hope we don't have to wait long for the next book in the series!
I had never read this author but will read him again. This book is part of a series but I didn’t feel like I missed anything not reading the previous books. The book has a good plot with a mystery that has plenty of twists that kept me turning pages. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
Erika has moved to a new area in a bid to move on from her past and search for happiness. As she walks home from the fish shop one evening she hears screaming and rushes to the aid of a woman who has just discovered her sisters body. Erika leads the investigation into the murder with so many suspects and areas of interest to peruse.
The long awaited book 7 in the Erika Foster series had me turning the pages so fast. The book felt so familiar and it was like I’d only just finished book 6 in the series and Erika and the gang were just as I remembered them. It was great to get more of an insight into Erika’s personal life and the twists and turns of the investigation were clever and had me guessing to the very end.
The Detective Erica Foster series is fantastic and this book is no exception.
Kept me reading long into the night.
Lots of unexpected twists and turns. A real page turner.
Thank you to Netgalley and Raven Street Publishing for granted me an ARC in return for my honest opinion.
Recommend.
Fatal Witness is the latest book in the series, featuring the formidable Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster.
Erika comes across the brutal murder of Vicky Clarke late one night, on her way home. Vicky is a rarely working actor, making ends meet working in her sister’s restaurant and turning her hand to podcasts in between. The podcasts Vicky was recently working on included her investigating a sexual predator who breaks into student accommodation, preying on young female students in South London.
Time is running out for Erika to investigate the truth, clear up the twists cleverly dropped into the plot and bring the killer to justice. All of this whilst balancing her rare free time to try to sort out her own life as well..
You can always rely on this series to be a good read. Erika has some horrific cases and this latest one is no exception. With a compelling story and a fast-moving plot, this thriller is both an entertaining and enjoyable read.
