With vibes of Miazaki - Kiki's delivery service and Howl's Moving Castle - fans of those movies and graphic novels with really enjoy this!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this advanced reader's copy and the opportunity to read this early. Review has been posted on Waterstones and Amazon.

This story follows our two main characters, one a witch struggling to perform her magic in public and about to lose her witching license, and a doughnut seller by day, member of a band by night. We have a light amount of romance in this, and just enough plot to make it substantial. I would have liked more exploration into the magic system or the organization that the witch was a part of, but other than that this was a short and entertaining story.
Thanks to netgalley for the arc.

This wasn't very deep but I really enjoyed it. A fun romp through magic and anxiety and a lovely little WLW romance to boot. A good time.

short, sweet, sapphic graphic novel!!🧙🏻♀️🍩
what I loved:
1. Illustrations were beautiful and loved the unique color pallet throughout!
2. Margot and Elena are so sweet and their interactions are beyond cute/funny!
what I wanted more of!!!
1. I could definitely use more of the story—I could see this being fleshed out even more and expanding eventually which would be amazing!
thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC! 4⭐️!

Really cute graphic novel! It's been a minute since I read it (last year!) But I remember getting those warm tingly butterfly feelings with these characters. Would definitely consider buying a physical copy! (Read epub!)

Opposites attract, a bit of magic, loved the art style and the colours, short and sweet. I liked it. Maybe wasn't my favorite and it won't stay with me as times goes by, but it's definitely worth reading a lazy evening.

In this sapphic enemies-to-lovers romance, sparks fly when Margot - a struggling witch - meets Elena - a punk rocker by night and doughnut shop employee by day. After a tense argument over chocolate donuts, Margot accidently curses Elena, jeopardizing both of their livelihoods.
Elena's next gig goes sideways when electrocutes herself on stage and has difficulties around the equipment needed to perform. If the Witch DMV finds out Margot cursed someone without her Witch Spell License, she may have to cease her potions business. To fix their futures, Elena and Margot must keep crossing paths and protect each others' futures.

Such a cute and wonderful graphic novel. Stylistically, the art is very unique and very appealing. I've recommended this series to several of my classes already and will hopefully receive funds in order to place some copies in our library.

The art style for this was really intriguing, there’s such a minimal colour palette. I think it worked really well, particularly with the use of the colour pink to highlight any magic! The general style was quite cute as well!
I’m always looking out for more queer graphic novels and this was such a fun sapphic romantic comedy! There’s lots to enjoy in this aside from the sapphic romance, with some wonderful world building, magic and bands…plus doughnuts! I do feel like the pacing was a bit off and there could have been more from this but it was still fun!

Doughnuts and Doom is an fabulous queer love story of opposites attract. Although they have a rough start, Margot and Elena find that they get along quite well. Mutual assistance lets them grow very close. This is a heartwarming tale of putting in the work to make your dreams come true. Although tagged as Young Adult, I feel like this would fit in New Adult better.

This short and sweet graphic novel really pleased me.I enjoyed the story's progression and the sapphic relationship.Interesting was the magic.I really enjoy reading about the kinds of witches who make their own brews and spells, which I've missed.
I really enjoyed the art and coloring, and the characters were easy to understand. If you're looking for light, short reading, I'd suggest this.If you appreciate it for the lighthearted romance it is, it is a lot of fun.

A pretty cute LGBTQ rom com and graphic novel. Witch Margot and musician Elena have a tempestuous first meeting that eventually forms into true comradery and love. This is a great, understated story that a YA audience will love with a simplistic palette that is even more impactful for its selectiveness. I look forward to more work from this author.

teen/adult graphic novel with female/female meet cute love story - a witch fails her charm exam, again, then accidentally curses the donut-shop clerk/struggling musician who is also having a bad day; hilarity and romance ensues.
this is a delightfully fun story -- more, please!

Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great book. I really enjoyed the characterizations and depth of emotion. I think this would be a great addition to any library collection.
If you're looking for a sweet, sapphic graphic novel that deals with witches, magic, and friendship, this is the perfect one for you.

Entertaining and fun teen graphic novel about witches, music, and doughnuts! What's not to love? Sure to be a hit for readers who want a light hearted sapphic magic story.

This was fun, but not a standout. It’s a pretty simple romance about a witch and the girl she accidentally cursed. It was sweet and I really liked the concept, but it was too short to get attached to any character. I wish it was all fleshed out a little more, but I definitely didn’t hate it. It was just what it said it would be. I think readers who like witchy graphic novels will enjoy this, but other than that, I’m not sure who I’d recommend this to.
Overall, the romance was sweet, the art was cool and I loved the snake familiar! I’m glad I read this because it was quick and fun and great for the fall. It was nothing super special and exciting, and way too short, but I still enjoyed it. I think I have students that will really like it, and I hope it gets into the hands of readers that will love it!

Wildly cute, witchy romance graphic novel. A very enjoyable, creative plot and sweetly engaging characters.

Incredibly cute graphic novel about witches, curses and Rock bands. Short but fun read with a unique style, that I personally really like. Defiinitely worth a read for fans of fluffy and cozy romance with a dash of fantasy.

Doughnuts and Doom is a super sweet lesbian love story. Low stakes, high good feels. It's about learning to trust yourself with the help of people who see you, perhaps more truly than you see yourself. Loved it!
