A book that is really supposed to be fun and light-hearted. Has a princess who has a crush on the captain of their yacht and has also grown up around her brother and family since Grady the captain is also the son of the secretary to the King. Princess Aubrey who has always liked him has a run-in with him one day when he brings a date to work and though yes she was being a pain he was still wrong for dumping her in the ocean, with nothing happening to him. Growing up around water was wrong on his part and I felt did away with part of the story for it made him like he had all of the power for everyone blamed her as she was all of the problems, like he had no responsibility for what he did. Bringing a date to work and it was okay for the man to do it but not for the woman I just felt off for the rest of the book even though I finished it I just could not get past that part for some reason. Overall the rest of the book was alright and for the most part, went as expected.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A cute cover. A cute women's fiction romance novel
This is the first book I read by this author and definitely not the last! The characters are just so interesting to get to know and the plot line really captures your attention.

Aubrey (Bree) is hopelessly in love with Grady Basset. There are two problems to this, 1. He has never shown even an ounce of interest and 2. She’s the princess of Malquar. While Bree doesn’t she the latter as a problem, Grady certainly does. His best friend is Prince Alistair but Grady has always know his place. The line could not be more clear. But when Grady takes Bree on a Mediterranean cruise at the insistence of their mothers, sparks fly. Will they’re love be a life raft or will it sink them?
This is the 5th in the #sevenbridesforsevenmothersseries but I didn’t miss out on any storyline, rather it made me curious to go back and read some of the sibling stories. I have read the first in the series (love is a battlefield). While I do want to go back and read the series, it’s a maybe on the re-readability. If I could I’d give it 4.5 but alas I can’t so 4 it is.

One of my favourite series ever- it never fails to amuse and entertain! I've read all books in this series, so it is very easy for me to keep up with the recurring characters. The stories are lighthearted and fast-paced, so, if you're considering picking up the series, go back and start from the beginning, you won't regret it.
I couldn't wait to finally find out what happened between Princess Aubrey and Grady. The chemistry was definitely there, and who doesn't like a good enemies-to-lovers story? Lots of great banter and delicious tension leading to sweet, sweet happily-ever-after. Loved it!
Aubrey is a princess and she's been head over heels in love with her brother's best friend since they were children. And she's been trying to hide it since basically she fell for him. But she hides it badly. Her emotions cause her to act out. Grady isn't much better. He's got a huge crush on Bree, but feels like he's not the kind of guy she should marry (because he's a boat captain, and not a prince). Finally, their families have had enough, and start scheming on how to get them to quite avoiding each other.
I'm a huge fan of the royalty/normie or celeb/normie trope, as well as enemies to lovers, and this had both of those IN SPADES. I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but I wasn't a huge fan of either Bree or Grady. The writing was great, but I was very annoyed by both the main characters, and couldn't get into them. as individuals. Bree is a Princess blah blah blah, but that kind of attitude from a grown-ass-adult is annoying. Plus, the book went from hate to lust to love really quickly. I wanted more meat! Good, but I wanted more.
I was provided an ARC copy of this book through Netgalley. My thanks to the publisher and the author for providing it to me.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
"Head Over Feet", written by Whitney Dineen, is an amazing story about princess Aubrey. It's the fifth book in the "Seven Brides for Seven Mothers" series, but I haven't read previous books and I understood everything completely. Each book is about a different couple, so it can be read out of order or as a standalone. However, it was amazing and I'm definitely going to read more from that author.
This story was extremely cute! I love how mothers played match makers (and siblings went along with every plan they made to help the couple get together 😂). Both the hero and heroine were funny and competitive, but also nice (well maybe not to each other at the beginning) and lovely. Their relationship was what I like the best, which is fake hate to love 💕.
I read "Head Over Feet" during one sitting! I just devoured that book. I'm looking forward to finding out how Ali and Lu got together and what's still up queen Charlotte's sleeve.
As always, Whitney Dineen's writing shines! I almost didn't continue on with this book because I really disliked the main character's brattiness but I kept on because I knew it had to get better. And it did but not until the very end. The writing was still good but the story just wasn't my favorite. I was not a fan of Aubrey; even after she changes, she's still bratty. The big issue for me was the start pf every chapter was a different point of view (not the couple) so it took you out of the story and ruined any flow. Otherwise, it was a cute story and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author. Must read. go and read this, so good. Total fan of Ms. Dineen books. all of them are the best.
Thanks Netgalley for this book and publisher.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC for an exchange for an honest review.
This book was fun, really enjoyed it.
This is the fifth installment of the Seven Brides for Seven Mothers series. If you haven't been following this series, you have been missing out! I guarantee these books will have you smiling and laughing out loud till the end. Bree and Grady have known each other since they were kids. She would always follow him and her brother around and even back then she had completely fallen for him. Grady never reciprocated her feelings because they are separated by class. Grady is the son of the king's secretary and Bree a princess. He knew he would never be good enough for her. Queen Charlotte wants nothing more than for her kids to be happy, and instead of disapproving of the match, she plays matchmaker and takes every chance to get them together. Meddlesome mamas are always a hoot and bring a whole new level of humor and fun, and this book did all that and more. This was a cleverly written story with heart, humor, and emotion and I enjoyed it. I found this to be a thoroughly entertaining and absolutely adorable story and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to read it.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
"Head over feet" is book 5 of the "Seven Brides for Seven Mothers Series" written by the author Whitney Dineen. In this book, we are introduced to Princess Aubrey (Bree) of Malquar and Grady Basset, Captain of the Royal Yacht. They have known each other since children and from an early age Bree has levitated towards Grady, either by following him relentlessly or by putting worms in his sandwich. Grady, however, took a bit longer to reciprocate Bree's feeling but his early intentions are stopped by his father, the king's secretary.
Years later, Bree and Grady can't be in the same room together without sparks flying, but not the good kind! When Prince Alistair and his fiancé Lu ask Grady and Bree to be in the wedding party, they have just one condition: they must get through ten consecutive social outings without any altercations. Will they realize their mutual attraction? Or will it a totally disaster?
This book started out great for me, funny and fast paced but soon enough it started getting too cliché and predictable. Guess now it's pretty common to have several different points of view in the same book and always talking in the first person. To be honest it threw me off in the beginning, but I got used to it. What I did not enjoy in the least was all the forced dialogue between characters. In the last chapters I was praying for the book to end honestly. This was my first book in the series (despite being book 5) and it will definitely be the last!
This truly was an enemies to lovers book. Through out almost the entire book you can see the hatred between these two characters. Bree and Grady are great at hiding their feelings from each other but not from their family. Thinking they could get them to see they belong together the family starts planning ways to get them to spend time together. This was a delightful read and it was sweet seeing everyone helping. I do wish they spent more time together just the two of them but it seemed every time they were together there was always someone in the way. Too much talking of other characters and not enough Grady and Bree for me. I did enjoy this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.
Thank you NetGalley and Whitney for allowing my to read this for my honest review.
A big thank you to NetGalley and the author (Whitney Dineen) for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, in which the mothers conspire to get their children married. It reads well as a stand alone.
Wow-my kids would lynch me if I tried any of this. But wealth has its privilege. This is I assume meant to be tongue in cheek. Aubrey and Grady have been circling each other since they were young. They have a love/hate relationship and neither is willing to admit how they feel So there is a conspiracy to get them together. It is cute, and predictable but still has humor and is fun to read. 3.5 stars
This is the 5th book in a series of 7 and what a fun book it was! I haven't read the previous books, but I'd go back now and read them. The match-making moms are hilarious and the story was fun to read. It got a bit redundant in the middle, will they or won't they - but it was a fairytale ending suited for a princess.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
I received this novel as an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The idea for this novel was cute and there was chemistry between the two main characters, but I genuinely did not like the writing style. The author used differing perspectives on events and really spelled things out too much,
This cute romance is full of stubborn heat and meddling mothers. It’s quite hilarious to observe and watch it unfold.
The way Grady shows little snippets of his desire for Aubrey is fun to watch, while she acts like her feelings died a long time ago. Everyone knows except for them and yet, eventually they find their love and allow it to flourish.
This was a lovely, lighthearted romance and I loved it.
This ARC was kindly provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Head over Feet is the latest in Whitney Dineen’s 7 Brides for 7 Mothers clean romantic comedy series. Princess Aubrey Margot Eloise Hale of Malquar is the fifth in line to the throne. She has loved her older brother, Alistair’s best friend, Grady Basset, since she was six years old. She followed the boys around wherever they went and made a nuisance of herself. Grady is the son of the king's secretary and is now the Captain of the Royal Yacht. While he's attracted to Princess Aubrey “Bree”, he believes that he’s a commoner who cannot be romantically involved with a royal.
When Grady and Bree are together, she acts juvenile, rude, belligerent, and an all-around pain in the butt. Their mothers, Queen Charlotte and Jacqueline, plot and connive to throw them together so they will sort their feelings out. Grady and Bree take a cruise in the Mediterranean by themselves and are forced to address their differences.
There are so many characters that it’s hard to keep up with them unless you have read the earlier “royal” books in the series. Bree behaved very immaturely to be 20 years old, in my opinion. I just couldn’t identify with her. The mothers and uber-efficient Agnes provided more humor.
I prefer the first books in any Whitney Dineen series and enjoy the subsequent books less. Also I think the books that Whitney Dineen co-writes with Melanie Summers are better than the books she writes solo. With that said, Head over Feet is a well-written story, just not one of my favorites.
