A lovely children’s read that myself and my daughter enjoyed. Lovely illustrations throughout the book that helped us to build the images of the characters and the setting.
This is a sweet story of community, coming together, greif, resilience, and following your heart.
I really liked the way that the community was portrayed and the way the author depicted a town trying to come to terms with a tragic event.
Perfect for middle school aged readers.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me a free digital copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.
Lovely middle grade title. After a huge storm devastates their small seaside town in Maine, Gale and Celia find heart shaped stones all over town. The stones seem to have magical powers and the girls believe the stones are clues, but what are they pointing to? Gale’s older sister Emma is skeptical and only believes in science, not magic. But something is going on, will hope, magic and a bit of science solve this mystery? Thanks to author, publisher and NetGalley for a preview copy.
Such a sweet story aimed at 8 - 12 year olds. A story of love and Community, follows Gale and her friend Celia on a search find out why there are so many heart shaped stones. I got a great sense of magic and belief from this book
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Heart Stones is a lovely children's book about two children - Gale and Celia who seek to uncover the mystery of how and why a number of heart shaped stones have turned up on their island after a storm. What are they? Why are they being found? Why do magical things seem to be happening? This middle grade fantasy book is brilliantly told and the storyline alone will captivate children's imagination. As a collector of heart shaped stones and pebbles, I was automatically drawn to this book and I'm so glad I read it. I can't wait to share it with my 9 year old who I'm sure will love it even more than I have.

A middle grade story with mystery and magical realism set in the beautiful setting of the Maine coast. I was intrigued when I read the synopsis for this story and continued to be intrigued while reading. Why are heart stones showing up around town and what do they mean? Gale and her friend Celia work together to find out the meaning, even when doubted by others, they work through their clues and mystery. I enjoyed reading about the hope and support that they received and had from their family and town members. This book was a great story! Thank you NetGalley and McSea Books for an advanced copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

This was such a sweet story filled with hope, belief and a love so strong. I loved that the heart stones were so magical and made such an impossible thing happen.
Gale was an amazing protagonist and her love, faith and curiosity with these heart stones was great. She never stoped searching for the answers she knew deep in her heart. Because of these stones and she found the answer with help of everyone around her.
I didn’t predict what happened would jhapoen at all and so it was such a sweet surprise, what a magical gift. I really loved the way she solved her mystery going round town and the stones guiding her hand finding out more to live e together as much as she could.
I also really liked that in the end even though Emma her sister, who didn’t get on at all, found a connection and a reason to get on and without each other’s help nothing would have happened and they wouldn’t even have had figured out anything.
It’s such a beautiful story with so much love and heart at the core of it all. I really enjoyed the heart stones, the beautiful island and the mystery. It was so creatively written and really fun to read and try to solve and nothing at all like I expected it to be.
I gravitated toward this book as an adult, because my younger self would have loved to find a book like it at our local library. This will be a great book for children that fall," in between." When you have out grown children's books, but YA or adult books don't fit right either. I won't lie, the cover of this book is misleading.
This book is a heartwarming story of friendship, hope with a dash of magic. This book was well written, easy to read, with just enough mystery to keep the reader engaged. I love all the feelings this story invokes.
Thank you, NetGalley and Musea Books, for providing me with a digital copy.
This is such a sweet story. I love the message of community and following your heart even when it doesn't make sense to the mind,
This magical tale takes place in Cliff Cove, on the coast of Maine. The main character Gail and her new friend Celia, embark on an investigation guided by Heart Stones, actual stones shaped and in the color of hearts. The mystery, magic and hope that ensues will keep readers turning the page to find out the enigma behind these energetic heart stones appearing all over town. A heart-warming story filled with intrigue and newfound friendships. I enjoyed this middle grade story much more than I thought I would. There was a storyline twist that I didn’t anticipate, and I really enjoyed that aspect.
The main characters help us to see that thinking differently and supporting other perspectives can often give other a reason to believe.

This was a really cute read that I think middle grade readers will love. It was such a cute storyline that dealt with themes such as friendship and bravery which will be relatable to children but also the book had adventure and mystery when they had to wprk together to solve the mystery that each stone was leading them too. I loved the family theme in the book as well as many children now have families like the one in this book so they will find it erelatable and it may help them through some issues too.
I really liked it.

Heart stones is a lovely story about stones that are found, and explored.
The book is about Gale and Celia who finds heart stones, and together they try to solve the clues the stones hide. A mystery that needs to be solved.
It was an okay read, and I imagine someone at the age of 8+ will find this story to be thrilling to read. What drew me to it was the heart stones, because what are they? I also want to mention that it is an interesting theme of love, friendship, and community throughout this book.
Hopefully a lot of young readers will absolutely love this story, much better than a 24 year-old aka me.
