A follow up to the first Lisa Jewell novel I picked up. I should have revisted a summary of The Family Upstairs before diving into this one as I forgot everyone's names and relations. It all started to come back to me fairly quickly. This wasn't as spectacular to me as the first, of course, but I was very much drawn to the Rachel/Michael story. I found that piece of it to be very interesting, while somewhat neutral about the other bits. Overall, I enjoyed it, and glad I was able to wrap up the narrative of these people. I can't assume a third installment of this will come, but whatever is next for Lisa Jewell is next for me, as well.

ππ£πππ€: As usual, this Jewellβs novel was so great. First letβs start by saying, it has a good summary of The family Upstairs so it could be read as a standalong but I highly recommend to read the first book because the greatness of this is character development and you do not want to miss any details.
Not going to lie, I was expecting to hear more about Phin, in all honesty I thought this book was going to be about him as a MC; I was pleasantly surprised with the turn the book took with the multiple POV, everything came to full circle. I loved it.
This book is about the fascinating characters and their background stories. So this are my favorites:
Henry: So intriguing and unpredictable.
Lucy: Although with all her mistakes is the epitome of a good mom; she will do anything for the safety of her kids.
Rachel: Heartbreaking POV but at the time super thrilling to watch her thrive despite her very traumatic experiences.
Michael: abcdfu glad you are dead.
πππππππ‘πππ: Full cast audiobook with narrators from The Family Upstairs which is always appreciated. Dominic Thorburn, Bea Holland, Hugh Quarshie, Josh Dylan, Thomas Judd, Eleanor Tomlinson did a fabulous job bring this book to light.
