This audiobook by Sarah Prout, an emotional empowerment expert, teaches how overcome negative thoughts about yourself and make positive life choices in order to grow as a person. By sharing her own raw, funny, and very personal stories, Prout reminds readers that we are all human and all have room to grow and change. This book is fairly easy to follow and listen to, and gives you lots of topics to reflect on. I enjoyed listening to it as an audiobook and would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to review it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio verion of this book. I really enjoyed this book. I can resonate a lot with the author. She talks about many things to help you be a better person. She has made this book park memoir part self help part amazingness. She has several journal prompts throughout the book.. I believe she has exclusively made this book as an audio book per stuff she has said in the book about it being an audio book. I feel like this would be an amazing book to have as a physical book with pages in it for the writing prompts.
When life hands you lemons, this book is just what the doctor ordered. Filled with powerful messages of self-affirmation and reminders that we can't reign in control over all aspects of our life (and that this is ok). A great book to pick up and read when one needs insights. Chapters are divided up clearly so you can pick out the reading you need when the moment strikes. A great reference text for when you need a reminder of how precious you are.
I really enjoyed this audiobook! It was very inspiring and uplifting, and it really made me think. It would be beneficial to everyone to hear it!
I just don't think that I am the target audience for this book, as I wasn't familiar with the author's other books or podcast. I don't really feel like there was anything revolutionary in the book though that being said there were a few good tidbits that I have taken away. I think that someone else might find a lot of useful information in the book and empathize more with the author's personal anecdotes - often times it's about reading the book at the right time in your life. There were a few parts that made me cringe, were a bit too woowoo and probably spoiled the book for me, but overall I just don't have very much in common with the author and didn't feel like her stories could be transferred to my life/lifestyle.
Well worn paths trod here. This self help book focuses on affirmations and intentions. Has a dated vibe. The audiobook quality was off with this one. Has an echo which was off putting. Not sure if it was the NetGalley app or the audio file.
