This is the second book in the Spark House series but can be read as a standalone. We get London and Jackson, the story overall was entertaining, I really liked how the characters were developed and the deepness into each one of them, I like the humor that brings Helena Hunting to her stories. The audiobook was excellent and I definitely recommend getting it, we have two fantastic and talented narrators, Stella Bloom and Jason Clark. They did a great job portraying their characters, and the pacing was good, making me enjoy it even more.
Starry-Eyed Love is the second Spark sisters book and this one focuses on London Spark. London is the middle child and the creative one, though she's stuck in the business end of Spark House. She meets CEO Jackson Holt and there is a spark between them. Jackson and London have met once before, but now she's at a better place to be interested. The problem is- they're working together and things could get complicated.
I was enjoying this one a lot but for some reason I got so annoyed and sidetracked by the kind of ex drama later in the book. That's not something I usually love in books and even though I enjoyed these characters and the storyline for the most part, that really tampered my love for this story.
Jackson is an amazing book boyfriend and there were so many times that I wished he was real LOL. This book was written with witty and amazing characters. Sisters that are best friends and friends that are a family. This cast of characters wove themselves into my heart and London and Jackson were two of my favorites. Their story pulled at my heartstrings and I fell in love with the story. This was a great listen!
The narrators did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I absolutely felt their words in my soul. Great job!
Starry-Eyed Love is book 2 in the Spark House series. In this installment, we get to know London Spark, co-owner of Spark House, their family run business. London is smart, hardworking, and dedicated to her sisters, Avery and Harley. She has never had much luck in the dating world, so when she is asked out by Jackson, she declines the invitation. Fast forward several months and London is presenting their business plan to a very lucrative company, one that could change their business forever. In walks the CEO and after a few moments, London realizes it’s the same man who asked her out and she rejected.
I think it’s safe to say “sparks fly” when London and Jackson are in each other’s presence. Whether it’s while they are planning a fundraiser or at dinner, the chemistry between them is off the charts. But getting involved with a client is dangerous, right? Jackson tries to maintain a professional demeanor, but can’t help but fall for London, the woman who seems to be his perfect match. Of course, what is a good story without a little conflict? You’ll have to read to see what happens in the second book of the series!!
Overall, I enjoyed the authors of this audiobook and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a happily ever after.

This was a cute listen and the story was enjoyable. There wasn't anything that really captured me and it never really captured my whole attention. This was a fun listen while I was doing other things, but overall it was not a remarkable listen for me.
Helena Huting knows how to make a reader smile till their cheeks hurt. This book was charming, witty, and highly addictive. Not only was the story amazing, but the audiobook's dual narration by Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom was absolutely fantastic. They brought life and depth to the characters and story being played out. No one will be disappointed by their performance.

Thank you so much to St. Martins Griffin and Macmillian Audio for the advance reading and listening copies of Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting. Starry-Eyes Love came out last week, on May 10 - Available now!
This is the second book in the Spark House series, following sisters Avery, London and Harley. Avery, the oldest, was the focus of book one, and I absolutely adored her friends to lovers relationship with Declan. This book followed London's story when she meets Jackson and we get to see their relationship unfold.
I had a lot of trouble with this one, I didn't understand where their relationship came from, it felt very insta-love (which I'm not a fan of). I didn't understand the why behind their attraction. I also found London to be a very helpless character, always needing her sister or Jackson to pull her out of problems.
I did enjoy seeing the relationship between the sisters develop, they are so fun on their own and I liked seeing the two younger start to stand up for themselves.
The third act conflict between Jackson and London was pretty typical of romance books - it didn't stand out to me.
The audiobook narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom is a great way to experience this story. It was awesome having a different narrator for each perspective.
Overall, I'm feeling very meh about the book but I will come back to the series to see how it wraps up with Harley's story.
2.5 stars rounded.
I enjoyed everything about this story. The characters were believable flawed and so easy to love. The chemistry between them felt so real and I loved that the romance wasn’t the only focus of the book. The family dynamics were also relatable and I liked learning more about what it is their business does and how it relates to other industries. I hope there is one more for the last sister.
Narration was done well, no issues.
I fell in love with London right away, I related to her people pleasing fatal flaw and immediately wanted for her to find her happily ever after. Jackson enters the book with what appears to be everything anyone could ever want in life, however it is blatently obvious he also is missing one crucial thing, the love of his life. It's a fall hard and fast type of book which as a HEA reader, is a personal preference of mine. Helena writes a little more sophisticated than I tend to like. I like to imagine these conversations happening in real time, there were definately moments I thought "who talks like this?" All in all I still enjoyed the book so much!
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest oppinion.
London Spark has just broken up with her boyfriend when a handsome stranger hits on her at a bar. She has to focus her energy now on getting the family event hotel more clientele so she lies and tells him she’s dating someone. A few months later she lands the opportunity to work with a multi-million dollar company and turns out that the CEO is none other than her bar stranger. Now they have to work together and deal with their attraction while keeping things professional.
With an adorable cover like this one, I knew I couldn’t resist reading STARRY-EYED love. Even though I hadn’t read the first book in the series I dove in and I’m happy to report that you can read this book without reading the first.
All that aside, this is such a cute and perfect summer read. There’s a sweetness and innocence to this story that I really enjoyed. Maybe a bit understated and for a series that plays on “sparks”, they were a bit more tame in this one. But I honestly really loved the hero, Jackson. Yes, he’s a billionaire, but he’s also such a marshmallow and a good guy. His attraction to London and his determination to do things the right way was kind of cute and wholesome. There was a nice chemistry between the two of them that worked really well throughout the story.
And then there’s London and the sisters. I really loved the family dynamics in this one. In some ways I also identified with London and her need to balance where she fit in with her family business and her passion.
I’m not sure if this book has left me itching to read the first or run for the next one, but I may end up doing that next time one comes out. If you want something sweet to read in one sitting with great friendships and family closeness, then this may just be the book for you.
I generally like Helena Hunting's writing, but I didn't like the first book in this new series. I didn't want to give up on the series so I thought I would give the second book a try. This one follows middle sister London and the CEO who comes into her life Jackson.
After a bad breakup Jackson asks out London after a chance meeting in a restaurant, but she turns him down as she wasn't ready to start dating again. Then 3 months later she realizes Jackson is the CEO of a company who wants to work with Spark House and they are both going to be working on an important charity event.
In my opinion this one was better than the first, I think, because it seemed more realistic even though it's about a rich CEO who can whisk her away on getaways. It was a quick, cute romance. I like the relationship between the sisters because it definitely reminds me of my own sisters.
I am newer to the Helena Hunting game but catching up quickly! This is book #2 in the Spark House series and I have not read book #1 (When Sparks Fly). The series is based on sisters who own a hotel/event space called Spark House. Even without reading book #1, I was able to quickly pick up the characters and story line for MC London.
London is newly single and not looking for a relationship but fate has other ideas. London and her sisters are out for dinner after her break-up, when their meal is paid for by a gentleman who wants to get to know London better; however, he is turned down. Fast forward 3-months to a potential business opportunity - London is requested to meet and present the family business to a social media corporation, Holt Media, who is looking to host a charity event at their location. CEO for Holt Media, Jackson Holt, and London meet again and begin to work together to plan the event, challenging London's reserves to stay single.
This book made me laugh out loud and I loved the use of descriptive phrases used throughout that just make you smile. Helena Hunting definitely has a great sense of humour! The audio book version was very well done and the narration was excellent. Strong 4.5-stars for this book! I highly recommend!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC audio version of this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
3.5/5⭐️
Newly single, London turns down a man at the bar. A few months later, a multi-million dollar company asks for a meeting with London to discus a partnership with the event hotel London owns and runs with her sisters. The owner of the company just so happens to be the man she turned down at the bar, Jackson Holt. As they begin to spend more time together working on their project, their professional relationship starts to feel like more.
This book was okay, but it was kind of immemorable. I feel like I'll probably never think about it again. I did enjoy listening to it though. It was cute, but a little cheesy at times. The story didn't keep me hooked and none of the characters were all that interesting to me. The characters were just kind of meh. Overall, it was enjoyable to listen to in the background while I was doing other things. The narrators did a good job of telling the story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an audiobook copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.
The main characters, London Spark and Jackson Holt, are well developed characters with a nice level of depth. They were all well written and clearly written for each other because they perfectly complement each other. The romance between them is a very slow-growing but highly anticipated one. They focus on their professional relationship before pursuing anything further.
The story is romantic, funny, and well-written. However, I felt it started off very slowly. At points, I could feel myself starting to lose interest until about halfway through the book, however it did keep me interested enough to want to keep going. It definitely took longer than necessary to finish this, and I'm not sure if it was the story or the narrators on the audiobook. The narrators were overall good, but there was nothing about them that made them stand out from other audiobooks that I've listened to. I definitely preferred Stella Bloom, who narrated London's perspective, over Jason Clarke, who narrated Jackson's perspective.
I also enjoyed the different topics that the story highlighted, such as family grief, work-life balance, and communication in relationships.
Overall, I enjoyed the story once it picked up. I liked the immediate spark between the main characters. I also enjoyed the storyline of London and her sisters and Spark House. It provided an extra level of depth to the overall story. I would definitely recommend this book. It follows the book When Sparks Fly, which I have purchased because I definitely want to read the full series of books and get more of the story.
London and Jackson’s story was really cute!
This is going to be a short review because there isn’t a whole lot for me to say. I really enjoyed listening to the book but nothing really stuck out to me for it to standout in my mind.
I love that London initially turned down Jackson and that didn’t deter him from going after her again. The entire book is essentially them fake dating without even realizing it. I’m still not sure how I feel about Jackson’s ex-lover and how that entire situation went down. I did appreciate at the end that she came forward like a mature adult to try to help patch things up between London and Jackson.
The narrators did an amazing job with the book. I wish there was more of Jackson but it was still a pleasure to listen to this audiobook.
This was such a sweet story. I loved the journey London (and her sisters) went on. The plot twist was a little predictable but it did not detract from the story and it created amazing tension. I had to put the audiobook on 2x speed cause I couldn’t wait to see how everything turned out. Also, the narrators were absolutely perfect for the characters.
Starry-Eyed Love
by Helena Hunting
Narrated by Jason Clarke; Stella Bloom
I received a digital copy of this audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in Helena Huntings series about the Spark sisters. Three ladies who are running their family owned boutique event hotel in Colorado.
This is Londons story which picks up right on the heels of big sister Avery’s story in the previous book. I would recommend reading that book first. In this one we do also see several characters from Helena Huntings Shacking Up series on the periphery. Now I need to go back and read these.
There were a couple moments with our self made billionaire hero where I felt like - ya big dummy what did you think was going to happen 🤷♀️🤦♀️. But he was overall likable and the plot crisis did not last overlong. London I was happy to see reach a point of self actualization that was much deserved. I look forward to seeing Harley and hopefully Trent’s stories either together or separately in the future.
Open door lower steam. Trigger warnings - dead parents in the past - car accident and cancer. Stress of working professionally with family. Anxiety with compulsive origami fixation.
I always love Helena Huntings narrators. Great voices for her characters. Alternating points of view though we spend most of our time with London.
5/5
Starry-eyed Love is a fun Rom-Com. Spark House is a Special Events company with a small hotel that is run by the three Sparks sisters. They are the third generation of the family to run the company. London Sparks is the sister that runs the business aspects of the company. She will sacrifice anything including her personal life for Spark House. When a multi-million-dollar company asks for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, London is determined to prove to herself and her sisters that she can win them over.
Jackson Holt is a very successful millionaire that has lived his adult life by avoiding relationships and focusing on his company and charity work. Once night, after an extremely stressful time, he decided to take a chance and asked out a beautiful woman in a bar. Unfortunately, it was bad timing as she had just ended a relationship, so she turned him down.
Several months after his encounter with the woman, he was walking past the conference room in the company that he owned, and he saw the woman that he had been attracted to. He is surprised to find that woman making a presentation in his conference room, so he enters to hear the presentation. London does not recognize him at first as he has shaved off his beard. After hearing the presentation, he asks London to his office for further discussion. She realizes who he is and is also attracted to him. Jackson's company signs a contract with Spark House and decides that they must keep their relationship on a professional level. Jackson spends more time with London than any other client and they are in fact dating even though they pretend the meetings are for professional reasons. I highly recommend this book.
This story just took my heart over. I loved every moment of this romance. Jackson and London had chemistry from the beginning and I adored the dual POV.
Helena Hunting has done it again! I love following the Sparks sister’s love lives. And based on Avery’s and London’s books were fantastic and I can’t wait to read Harley’s!
I really related to the love story between London and Jackson. It was electric and fast paced but still felt very organic. The characters really understood each other.
The sisters face a big struggle in this book within their relationship. Spark House was becoming the sisters’ lives and with Avery’s wedding, it was getting worse with London and Harley picking up the slack. I enjoyed reading about the sisters struggling and working though their issues. This story ended up being one of my favorite parts.
