This was an excellent narration from Stella bloom and Jason Clarke. I enjoy the dual points of view from both characters and it showed in the narration. This book is part of a series and is the second one. You do not necessarily need to read the first one as it is part of the three sisters in the stories. But it does help in some of the storyline.
I received this ARC and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.
It's a lot of fun to read about the Spark Sisters! I adore everything about them, their names (London, Harley and Avery), their very different but complementary personalities, and their jobs are all interesting to read about. Starry-Eyed Love is London's story, as she takes on the role of business administrator at Spark House while Avery is distracted with wedding planning. But her heart is in more creative parts of the company. When she meets with Jackson, a potential investor, she is surprised to find that she has already met him, and turned him down for a date! This could be awkward, especially if they're both still attracted to each other. The story alternates between London and Jackson's points of view, with 2 different narrators. Both sounded very genuine and represented the characters well. This was a really fun audiobook to listen to, it was sweet and heartwarming with just a touch of spice. I can't wait to read Harley's story next!
Starry eyes love sees us meeting London Sparks and her sisters having a much needed night out after she breaks up with her boyfriend. While out, a super hot guy asks for her number, but she tells him she has a boyfriend because she’s not ready to move on.
Fast forward a few months and London goes to a meeting with the CEO of a green corporation that wants to partner with London & her family and their boutique hotel. They realize that they’ve met before and the sparks fly, but they can’t act on it while they’re working together.
This was obviously a Cinderella type story, which isn’t really my jam. Especially when the rich guys friends look at him dating her as “community service” or such, but thankfully Jackson was a little more down to earth than the typical male in these stories. There just wasn’t any “pop” for me with him.
And London was really relatable with her anxiety and fidgeting and balancing the person and professional relationships with her sisters.
There was some cute banter, lots of steam and some personal growth.
The narrators did a good job of bringing the characters to life. I prefer the make narrator, but the woman was good too.
Thanks to St. Martins Griffin and NetGalley for this audiobook arc in exchange for my review.
Rating: ⭐️3.5 /5 ⭐️
This is book two in Helena Hunting’s Spark House series, this time following middle sister London Spark as she tries to navigate doing the business admin side of her family business, while balancing her flourishing Etsy shop and a hot billionaire CEO who could be essential in bringing their event hotel to the next level.
This book is quite business-focused, as we follow London’s perspective of feeling shoehorned into a job that doesn’t suit her because that’s what her family expects from her, even though it is soul-crushing and makes her extremely nervous. There are things about the job she likes, sure, but those are the smallest parts of her time. These were elements of London’s story that I loved and found very relatable. But at some point, it was a bit much and I felt like I was back at work listening to a regular meeting. There’s even an interview component!
As well, I thought Jackson’s character was underdeveloped, and even though it’s supposed to be dual POV, we got to hear barely any of his side of things. Overall, I felt like the romance side of this book fell flat for me, and I found it hard to get into this book until the uneven power balances between the main characters was addressed.
I’ll definitely still continue on with this series though, and I’m looking forward to a Harley book, but what I’m really hoping for is to hear more about Grandma Sparks’ whirlwind European romance!

London meets a stranger at the bar, she isn't ready to date so she doesn't want to take his number. As fate would have it their paths cross again, but this time its business. London and her sisters run a hotel, the Spark House, and London is going to a meeting to see about a potential partnership. London has this in the bag, she has done meetings like this before. She is confident until CEO Jackson Holt makes his way in the meeting and starts asking her lots of questions. She soon realizes that Jackson is none other than the guy from the bar. What has she gotten herself into? As weeks go on they start planning their event and get closer to each other. Jackson won't cross the business/personal boundary until the event is over. Once it is, all bets are off.
I enjoyed the book. I thought the Spark sisters were great, they really balance each other out. I really liked London. I'm obsessed with stars, I felt like I could connect with her character in that way. I thought she was a strong character. She was so loyal to her sister and her company.
And Jackson..hmm..how could you not love him? He was charming and sweet. He was protective, but not over the top. I really liked his character. I wish we got to have more of his POVs though! I enjoyed getting his side of things.
I own a few Helena Hunting books, but this is the first one I've actually read. I really like her writing. I think she sets everything up nicely! As this was my first book, I didn't read the first book in this series, but I don't think you need to! However, I think it would have helped you know Avery better. I can't wait to read it. I'm sure there will be a book 3 and I will read that as well! Thank you to St. Martin's (St. Martin's Romance), Macmillan audio, Helena Hunting, lets talk books promo, and NetGalley for the ebook and audio copy of this book! It was so fun to read along while I listened! My opinions are my own.
I will add my instagram link when I share it.
I really, really enjoyed this one! It was super cute and light, and it felt like a breath of fresh air!
I loved this book even more than the first in the series! This time we are focusing on London, the eldest of our three sisters, and the glue that keeps all the sisters together. When London sees Jackson at a bar right after her break up, she turns down his advances. Months later when Spark House business throws them back together, Jackson and Londo both want to try again, but now that they are colleagues, they are concerned about the optics of a relationship.
This book had an amazing love story, but also touched on topics of grief, and of the struggles of maintaining a family business and what goes into keeping a legacy. It was a hard book to put down but an easy and fun book to read, and is all the goodness that I've come to expect in a romance from Helena Hunting. I can't wait for a book focusing on our last sister, Harley.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators were both perfect. Jason Clarke had the perfect deep and gruff voice for Jackson, and Stella Bloom is charming in her reading as London.
Thank you to Macmilan Audio for providing me with an ARC of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
The first book in this series was not my favorite, and I was hoping this would be better. It was fine. These characters were boring to me and I felt no connection to them at all. I think really what I like in this series is Spark House and that's it. I'll probably read the next book just to finish it out, but won't rush to get it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
We know I usually love an audiobook with more than one narrator, but in this case I didn't think the male narrator was necessary. He broke up the flow for me and I didn't love it.
Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Griffin, Macmillian Audio, and Helena Hunting for an advanced copy of her upcoming book, Starry- Eyed Love. This is the second book in the Spark House series focusing on London’s story and her interactions with Jackson. She is the crafty sister who is in charge of business development and presents a pitch featuring her hotel as the next event location for Jackson’s business when he walks in unexpectedly to the meeting. London recognizes him as the guy who bought her and her sisters drinks after she broke up with her boyfriend. They have such a sweet banter throughout the planning phases and love watching their feelings unfold.
I enjoyed the story of London and Jackson. Even though it was the second one in the series, you don't have to read them in order (but I will be going back to listen to the first one!), and I hope a third one is coming for the third sister!
This is my second series by Helena Hunting, and definitely different, but still real, honest relationships with all the things to love about romance!
DNF at 50%
I enjoy Helena's writing style typically - in fact, I don't have a problem with how this is written - however, this book isn't for me. I cannot stand the LI. His actions came off as oblivious in regards to the difference in his lifestyle to others and his manner completely overbearing. I really don't want London to fall in love with him and as it's not a love triangle, I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed. Otherwise, I love the sibling dynamic and London's potential journey to occupational satisfaction.
The narrators, Jason Clarke & Stella Bloom, are well suited to the genre and I would enjoy listening to them again.
Thank you to St Martin's Press and Netgalley for the advanced copy and Macmillan Audio for the alc. All thoughts in this review are my own.
This is a fun romance that follows London as she juggles her family's event business and a potential budding relationship with a new business partner. This is apparently book two in a series following the Spark sisters, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed the chemistry with Jackson and how supportive he was of London, doing whatever he can to help her grow her business while pursuing her passion projects. I also loved seeing the sisters' event planning business and reliance on one another. I listened to the audiobook for this one and enjoyed the dual narrators as we altered between Jackson and London's perspective.
It's a quick and easy read that's not particularly memorable but overall a feel-good story that is great for weekend or beach reading/listening. I'm looking forward to picking up the other Spark sisters' stories.
Thanks Macmillan audio for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
If you’re looking for a fun, we’ll written romance, then Helena Hunting is perfect. And so is Starry-Eyed Love. I can always count on a well written, fun romance when I pick up one of her books. The characters are likable and often relatable in many ways. You can never go wrong with Helena!!
And this audio was fabulous as well. The narrators did a wonderful job. Definitely recommend it.
3.5 stars
Starry-Eyed love is the second book about the Spark sisters. While it can be read as a standalone novel, reading When Sparks Fly first will give you background on London, her sisters, Declan, their past, and Spark House, the family-run business.
For fans of Helena Hunting’s other books, this one offers fun cameos from characters from the Shacking Up series (Shacking Up, Hooking Up, and Making Up) and from Handle with Care.
Our first introduction to Jackson is a mixed bag. Thumbs-up: he treats waitstaff well and is confident and he takes the rejection in stride. Thumbs down: his pickup lines are atrocious. Thankfully, his second impression, months later, is much better.
London is strong, but struggling, compassionate, and giving. She’s creative. She has a history of giving herself and putting her needs last in favor of making things work for her family. She makes you want to root for her. She and Jackson both need balance, and their relationship serves as a catalyst to pushing harder to achieve that balance.
I like London. I like Jackson. I like London and Jackson together. We were smoothly sailing towards a 4-star review, and then the romantic conflict happened. I saw it coming; I knew it was coming; but I think I hoped it would be handled differently. There are overheard conversations. There are things that could have been handled before things came to a head or after the climax by adult conversations. I am not a big fan of the miscommunication trope, and my big feeling heart cannot always handle the breakup portion of romance novels. It hurts.
As for the narration, I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook version. I kept popping my AirPods in whenever I got a chance and finished the book within three days. This one has two narrators, Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom, and while I appreciate how they wanted to capture the chapters based on which character is sharing his/her point-of-view, I preferred the chapters narrated by Bloom. To me, it felt like the two narrators spoke at different speeds. Bloom’s pace is more my speed. I found myself changing the audiobook speed when the narrators changed–1.25x for Bloom and 1.5 or 1.75 for Clarke. Also, I, personally, am not always a fan of male narrators when they try to voice female characters. All-in-all, though, this audiobook was an enjoyable listen, and I would recommend it.

Book two in the Spark House series💫
So swoony and addictive!! This book can be read as a stand-alone. If friends to lovers is your jam-then you truly need to read this!!
🌠London isn’t interested in dating, having had a string of failed relationships. Jackson enters the picture when he sees London at a bar with her sisters, and is instantly attracted to her. He proceeds to ask her out. London has no interest in dating again, so she lies and tells him she’s in a relationship as she turns him down.
🌠Time passes and when the story catches up with London, she and her sisters are planning a big meeting. The billionaire investor she is going to pitch her business ideas to regarding Spark House is none other than the guy she turned down at the bar… Jackson. There is a problem though-they can’t get involved romantically until they aren’t working together.
🌠London and Jackson make one adorable couple. Will they be able to juggle their busy schedules? Will they be able to settle the growing hesitancy they both have that each other is in the relationship for the right reasons? There are things that need to be addressed as they maneuver their schedules and appearances together.
🌠Jackson is a billionaire and pretty much a celebrity. London is learning to deal with all the gossip and traverse all the relationship issues that go with dating someone famous. This is proving difficult since someone from Jackson’s past has a different and specific idea of what label she has in his life. This creates strife and a rift that breaks your heart for the both of them. Is it reparable? Will this sweet duo be able to reunite and work it out? You’ll have to read it to see how they get their HEA, but it’s worth it. Just the sweetest ending!
Completely endearing and delightful! Starry Eyed Love just plain shines!! 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! It was absolutely adorable. I did not read the first book. While I am sure it helps with world building it wasn't necessary for book 2.
London was a funny and lovable character. I enjoyed her finding the balance between work, social/dating life, and perusing her passion. The love interest Jackson was a great match for her. The romance is pretty cute. I love a book with good tension! So many "kiss already" moments!
Overall this book left me smiling and my heart happy.
London Spark and her two sisters own Spark House, a hotel that hosts fantastic events. After breaking up with her boyfriend, her sisters and her head out for some drinks. When a smooth-talking, sexy man hits on her, she hands back his number, but Jackson Holt is not to be deterred and tells her basically, if it’s meant to be, the universe will bring them back together…
And of course, it does.
Jackson’s company hires London to hose an event, and when Jackson sees her, he can’t get her out of his head. I loved his love of her. He was confident and treated her with such tenderness. This is a story where the two characters try to keep the relationship profession, but I never felt frustrated at them. I appreciated the flow of the story and the timing of when they get together.
I also really enjoyed London’s sisters, which has me thinking, I definitely need to go back and read book 1 in this series now!
I would recommend this one for romance readers that enjoy an easy-sweet romance!
I wish I could put my finger on what didn't work for me in this book. In theory, it should check all of the boxes. Was it so much talk about how green they are? (but only in the first half. they forgot in the second half) Maybe it was the light amount of chemistry on page between the main characters? It could definitely have been the bossy older sister. I wanted this book to work so badly. I liked the story premise. I love the sisterhood between the Spark girls. I just think I wanted to FEEL more from this book. The narrators were great!

Starry Eyed Love by Helena Hunting
A special thanks to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book all thoughts and opinions on my own.
Man! I love these Spark Girls! This is the second book in the Spark House series. I was given the opportunity to read the first via NetGalley as well and it was just as good as this one.
London just ended an almost year long relationship that just wasn’t working for her. While out at a bar a very handsome man hits on her but she shoots him down. A few months later London is set to give a pitch about the Spark House to a new company when Jackson Holt the very very rich CEO walks in to her meeting and she suddenly realizes he’s the guy from the bar.
Jackson hires the Spark girls but quickly realizes what a mistake that is since he can’t date an employee. The will they, won’t they Anticipation is so perfect in this book. If you love a good romance this one is for you! Check out Starry Eyed Love by Helena Hunting. This book comes out on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Party planner London is meeting with a potential client when their billionaire CEO joins in and starts grilling her. She's shocked to realize he's the man she turned down a few months earlier when he propositioned her at a bar. Jackson still seems interested, but their working relationship makes romance impossible. Can they find a way to be together?
London and Jackson have a fun and flirty relationship that makes this book a pleasure to read. The story was well-paced and compelling. London's sisters also play an important role in the novel. The main characters were well-developed with tons of sensual tension.
The audiobook used dual narrators and added to the enjoyment of the story.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
