This book was just okay. I didn't really like it, but I was determined to finish it just because I wanted to know how everyone's storylines would play out. All the sisters were selfish and dramatic, with Beck being the worst of all. The plotlines weren't really realistic and there were a lot of situations or characters that were totally unnecessary. It felt like this story was just lazily thrown together with no plot planning and no critical thinking. What a disappointment because I love books where an estranged family comes together after a loss.

I listened to the audio version and the narrator was great. Unfortunately I just couldn’t get into this one. For me, it felt like somehow the storyline dragged on and at the same time there was too much going on.

It All Comes Down to This follows the lives of the Geller sisters as they navigate the death of their mother. We drop in on their lives towards the middle. Each of the three sisters are in a different stage of life in their 30s and 40s. One is a new grandmother, one is recently divorced, and one is still finding herself and trying to navigate life. This book looked at an interesting time in their lives, the middle. For each sister there is a huge shift at this point in how the rest of her life will pan out. Often with novels we see younger characters landing their dream job, getting married, or having a child and these are seen as the end or the happy ending. This book takes a look at what happens after all of that and how we can change and evolve as people. It's also a huge shift in the age we usually associate with starting life, or in this case starting over. The older you get the more you realize that most grown ups are all still figuring it out.

Thanks to #Netgalley and #MacmillanAudio for sharing a copy of this audiobook with me!

I've previously enjoyed Therese Anne Fowler's books and was interested in the premise of this book. The narrator did an excellent job but I found the plot to be slow with too many storylines. Thank you to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy.

This is my first time reading this author and while her writing is compelling, I couldn’t fully connect to any of the characters. I was invested but I wasn’t, if that makes sense. I will definitely read some of her other books, though. I liked the plot and it had just the right amount of family drama, not quite sure what was missing for me. Shout out to NetGalley for the read.

Secrets. Lies. Every family has them. Marti, the mother of Beck, Sophie, and Claire is dying and has made a will that none of the girls are particularly happy about. The three sisters could not be more different from the next except they all have secrets, and so did their mother.
The narrator did a fantastic job of telling so many different stories that intertwined together in the end. If you did not fully focus throughout the beginning of the story it could easily becoming a confusing story though. I enjoyed hearing how the stories played out, secrets were unfolded and happily ever afters were given. I would definitely recommend this story to friends.
Special thanks to Netgalley and McMillan audio and st martins press for providing this audio arc in return for an honest review.

Thank you Net Galley for an audio ARC of It All Comes Down to This by Therese Anne Fowler. Beck, Claire and Sophie are all trying to gain their footing since their mother passed away. This is a women's fiction novel. I really had a rough time with this one. Sure I have a lot on my mind, but use audiobooks to take me away. It seems like I was uninterested in the whole story.

Family drama galore- It All Comes Down To This gave me lots of Kristy Woodson Harvey vibes. I enjoyed the different insights to each character as they coped with life, grief, moving on and finding their overall joy. This will be a fantastic addition to summer beach bags for poolside reading.

I wanted to badly to love this one as family dramas / women's fiction are my favorite. I made it almost halfway and couldn't take it anymore. I really hate to not finish an advanced copy of any book, but this was not for me.

I had to listen to the word erection more times than I ever wanted to, listen to a wife talk about how it's totally no big deal that her husband was cheating on her, etc. The characters definitely had potential but nothing was happening even at the halfway point.

Sadly I won't be recommending this one. Thanks so much to MacMillan Audio for the advanced listening copy. The narration was excellent!

Very intriguing plot, but the execution fell short for me. The “side stories” were more compelling than the main ones, so I found the book wanting. Solid 3 stars.

A great pick if you: Love family dynamics, sister stories, dilemmas that make you ponder what you would do.

A story of three sisters and the loss of their mother. Each woman carries stories of success and failure as they face a new normal.

I really enjoyed this book. The dynamics between sisters always intrigues me and I appreciated their individual circumstances and how they navigated to a new normal. Though there were some heavier topics they were presented and explored in a lighter fashion. I always enjoy when differences can be embraced and possibly bring people closer. The narration was enjoyable as well. Thankyou NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC.
