I devoured this book in one sitting. The characters were so funny. Sometimes the MCF was a but immature and the love felt rushed, but I really enjoyed it.

Although the synopsis reveals WAY too much information, this book had THE best first chapter EVER!!

Anyways, I loved this book! There were such epic lines, the ending was amazing, with a great moral to it!!

Sophie Gonzales's latest young adult novel is told from the dual perspectives of protagonists Skye and Maya during their time on teen reality tv show Second-Chance Romance, where they compete against each other for a second chance at love with their shared ex-boyfriend Jordy Miller. Maya is only competing in order to publicly reject Jordy and get back at him for cheating on him with Skye, while Skye has hopes of getting her shot at an actual second chance with Jordy. When Skye learns of the cheating, however, the two decide to work together to take Jordy down, one way or another. What they don't expect, however, is to fall for one another in the process.

This book was so much fun! Both Skye and Maya are incredibly likeable characters, and it's impossible not to root for their romance. As an antagonist, Jordy is perfect as well, he's so misogynistic and ego-driven, with absolutely no redeeming qualities, guaranteeing the reader to root for his downfall and the success of Maya and Skye. This so easily could have been a book that pitted girls against each other, and Sophie's conscious choice to create solidarity and allow for friendship between all of the contestants made for such a heartwarming read. We love girls supporting girls! I also think this may have been the first novel I've read where both romantic leads identify as bisexual, and I loved how open both Maya and Skye were about their identities, and especially enjoyed that biphobia didn't play a part in the book.

A compulsively readable rom-com with a feminist message, Never Ever Getting Back Together has all the drama you'd expect from a reality dating show- and twice the heart. Don't miss out on this one!

Okay, I LOVED this book. Once I could sit down and read it, I sped through it. Maya and Skye are absolutely compelling, even if you’re not sure who you want to win more. The fact that Skye and Maya are bi and discuss relationships with both men and women means so much to me as we often see bisexual characters reduced to stereotypes that are untrue. I could really spend a whole book just hearing about the adventures of all the contestants on Second-Chance Romance.

I was lucky enough to read this Advanced Reader's Copy through my partnership with NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

If you like reality dating shows, then this book is for you. Maya and Skye are invited to participate on Second Chance Romance to see if she can rekindle her relationship with Jordy, their now famous ex-boyfriend. One is determined to seek revenge and the other is open to see if they can have another chance at love but then the two girls happen to fall in love with each other. Maya and Skye were relatable and you couldn’t help but cheer for them. I found this book entertaining and a quick read. I would definitely recommend!

All I can say is we needed less jordy and more of Maya and Skye! I definitely enjoyed this cute read! I was glad to see the girls give Jordy what he deserved! The book had great pacing and kept me interested!

If you love reality TV drama, with emphasis on the drama, you're in for a huge treat. I know having a lot of drama is often seen as a bad quality in YA books, but in this case I promise it's part of the fun!

The concept of this book - having a dating show where the contestants are the guy's exes - is so incredibly fun, and this book lives up to it entirely. Jordy was truly the worst, and I loved the main characters overcoming the drama he set them up for and falling in love with each other.

"Never Ever Getting Back Together" is the latest in a string of light romance novels set in the world of fictional "The Bachelor" franchises.

A group of six women is chosen to date Jordy, someone they at least briefly dated or hooked up with, in an attempt to rekindle whatever there was to begin with. Everyone has their own agenda but Maya and Skye are the only ones who seem to have been hurt by Jordy and have a connection. General mean girl behavior ensues until the truth comes to light, as well as some other feelings.

"Never Ever Getting Back Together" is a quick, mostly clean, fun romcom that's enough of a departure from the other similar books coming out that it didn't make me feel like I had deja vu. Four stars for keeping my attention and being just swoon-worthy enough.

Thanks to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

** spoiler alert ** Thanks to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the ARC!

This is a great hating-to-dating book because Maya and Skye legitimately hate each other the first third of the book. About halfway through they begin to acknowledge their attraction to each other, which is rare and something I enjoyed off the bat.

There is some really witty banter, especially when Maya is talking with Jordy.

After the initial misunderstanding between Skye and Maya is cleared up, there is really no girl-on-girl hating. All of the 'contestants' were very supportive and understanding of each other (it really helps that Jordy is kind of the worst).

I really enjoy a good takedown of a massive douche, which this book happily provides. It's a slow reveal of just how awful Jordy is which makes the ending even sweeter.

If you're looking for super steamy, this isn't it (closed door but lots of making out). Sometimes the chemistry between Maya and Skye felt a little forced, but overall, this book was extremely cute! I love the premise, the side characters were great and I would definitely recommend!

For being a YA (sapphic) version of the Bachelor, this was a fun time and I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading it. Was it perfect? No, not at all. Am I a sucker for all books that have a basis in reality-TV plots? Yes, 100%. Jordy was the most annoying, pretentious man of all time and it was so fun to hate him and have him get what he deserved. Skye and Maya were a lot of fun too, and their's is the only miscommunication trope that I 100% understand and believe contributed to the plot. Not much else to say except while I might not read it again, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, fun, sapphic story that involves revenge, reality TV, jello shots, and awful ex-boyfriends!

This book was one of those I couldn’t put down until I finished! It was so good from beginning to end, with fun twists, a great plot, and a wonderful group of girls getting to enjoy a mansion because they had all dated the same guy. Like it’s mentioned more than once in the book itself, if you think of it like a giant 2month long sleepover with food and wonderful sites and activities, who wouldn’t be up for it? Obviously it’s all for reality tv, but the behind-the-scenes look into what “reality tv” is actually like is pretty fun. And the show is called Second Chance Romance, so there’s going to be a romantic aspect to it too… just maybe not how you think. I can genuinely say I really enjoyed reading this book and almost all of the characters involved in this story… and I say almost all cause clearly there’s one that we all know who we shouldn’t like (and I 100% think he’s written in such a way that is impossible to find a redeeming characteristic which is great). Anyways, I can’t wait for this book to be out and for everyone to enjoy it.

This was a great read. I didn’t know too much about the plot before I dove in and I was glad! I loved how the plot unfolded and everything really came together. The plot twists that were there, I didn’t predict. I loved that it included LGBTQA without it being the center of the story like other authors.

What a delightful rom-com as we see Maya go on a reality dating show and who is on there as well but the girl, Skye, her ex boyfriend, Jordy, cheated with while dating her. Come to find out he cheated on Skye too. As Maya and Skye hang out , they admit at first they couldn’t stand each other but now, is it possible that Maya, who’s bi, has feelings for Skye? What could go wrong if Jordy finds out?

AAAHHH I could not put this down.

I'd like to start by thanking the publishers for allowing me to read this book before its release, being my first ARC I'm beyond excited.

Never Ever Getting Back Together is about two girls, both invited to go onto a reality dating show, a show that centers around their shared ex-boyfriend, now celebrity heartthrob Jordy Miller as he rekindles old flames all to find “the one that got away”. While Maya joins the show in hopes of exposing Jordy for the cheating liar he is, Skye isn't quite sure why she's joining, she's not one to give second chances. Upon meeting, the pair get off to a rocky start, each convinced the other was an accomplice to their heartbreak. However, with so many of Jordy's exes in one place, it doesn't take long for Maya, Skye and all the other girls to realize the solo offender is Jordy. Hell-bent on revenge, Maya and Skye began plotting their foolproof plan to show the world who the real Jordy Miller is. Neither girl could have predicted that the longer they spent together, the less it would become about Jordy.

Maya did say he had great taste in women.

I loved this book for a number of reasons. For starters, the dialogue was incredible, Jordy was such an unbelievably narcissistic character it was comical, and his one-liners made me audibly laugh. I felt like groaning every time he opened his mouth; that goes to show you how well he was written. It's hard not to think of all the Jordys you've known while reading this book. You root for the main characters from beginning to end, you want to revel in the joy of taking him down right along with them.

The reality show aspect was something I didn't know I’d enjoy so much. The scripting and the inauthenticity of it all was downright hilarious. All of Jordy's corny lines and blindsiding made me feel like I was watching a season of the Bachelor. All the drama and twists made it nearly impossible to put this book down. The staff and producers with their shameless devotion to putting on a show, was a nice touch, exactly what I'd imagined goes down behind the scenes of these shows.

And my favorite part, the romance. The enemies to lovers pipeline, my beloved, never fails me. This was made even better by the fact that both girls were falling for the girl their ex-boyfriend cheated on them with, where can you say you've seen that plot twist before? The build-up was deliciously chaotic and I was invested after the first twinge of romance. Their end was such a satisfying conclusion and all in all this book was such an incredible read.

I'm looking forward to reading more by Sophie Gonzales, and thank you again for allowing me to review this ARC.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC to review.

This book was great, 2 girls uniting to take down their ex-boyfriend, Jordy, in this reality TV show. Jordy is supposedly looking for the one that got away, but Jordy is not the sweet and charming man that the world thinks he is, and Maya is out to expose him.

Great read, first time reading from this author and yes you will enjoy it!!

CW: cheating, explicit language, gaslighting, parent abandonment (mentioned), drowning, sexism, car accident (mentioned off-page), slut-shaming

I would like to thank NetGalley and Wednesday Books, a division of St. Martin’s Press, for providing me a free e-ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Maya ends up taking the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to humiliate her ex-boyfriend, Jordy Miller, on national TV by winning his new reality show, Second Chance Romance. However, she doesn’t take into account the fact that Skye, the girl Jordy cheated and left her for, would end up on the show. Even having to share bunk beds together, Maya and Skye realize they can work together to expose Jordy for who he is.

After reading the first chapter, I knew I was going to love this book. And rightfully so. Never Ever Getting Back Together has been getting a lot of talk in the bookish community and I was excited to have been given an e-ARC to review before it releases at the end of the year.

The whole concept of Second Chance Romance and how it's written in the book is definitely a unique component to the plot. I could not stop laughing at the production team’s attempts to get Maya to join the show. While it occasionally spurs out to say and do cheesy things, you get to see first-hand what it means to be on reality TV.

I also loved Maya and Skye’s relationship. Personally, it was great to see their banter throughout the book and their transition from enemies-to-friends-to-lovers. It also features a dual POV between Maya and Skye, which definitely helps the plot and can allow you to get inside their heads.

So if you want to read a book that takes forced proximity to a whole nother level or want to find a book that you can easily somewhat tie a Taylor Swift into, you will definitely want to read Never Ever Getting Back Together.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.

This is a romance book that takes place in a world like the bachelor, except all of the ladies are the exes of the guy.

I will admit it’s a cute read and to be honest I’m 26 and at first I thought it would be a bit seemingly young since the characters are around the age of eighteen.

Everything was great. One thing was sometimes I feel like it was a bit too meh. You know? Like sometimes the characters will say something and I would face palm myself.

All in all great read would definitely recommend.

**Disclaimer: I received a free advanced readers copy of Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this opportunity.

Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales is a young adult romance novel about two girls who agree to go on a reality television show where the premise is to date your ex again and see if the romance is sparked once more.  Only, one of the girls came to the show for a different reason.  It is set to be published on November 29th, 2022.  I rated it 5 stars on Goodreads.

Here's the summary from Goodreads:

When their now famous ex-boyfriend asks them to participate in a teen reality show, two eighteen year old girls—one bent on revenge, the other open to rekindling romance—get tangled up in an unexpected twist when they fall for each other instead in Never Ever Getting Back Together by nationally and internationally-bestselling and Indie Next Pick author Sophie Gonzales.
It’s been two years since Maya's ex-boyfriend cheated on her, and she still can’t escape him: his sister married the crown prince of a minor European country and he captured hearts as her charming younger brother. If the world only knew the real Jordy, the manipulative liar who broke Maya’s heart.
Skye Kaplan was always cautious with her heart until Jordy said all the right things and earned her trust. Now his face is all over the media and Skye is still wondering why he stopped calling.
When Maya and Skye are invited to star on the reality dating show Second-Chance Romance, they’re whisked away to a beautiful mansion—along with four more of Jordy’s exes— to compete for his affections while the whole world watches. Skye wonders if she and Jordy can recapture the spark she knows they had, but Maya has other plans: exposing Jordy and getting revenge. As they navigate the competition, Skye and Maya discover that their real happily ever after is nothing they could have scripted.

I am obsessed with this story.  I love these sort of pseudo celebrity stories and reality television stories.  This fit perfectly into that box, and I'm genuinely so glad that I read this.  The premise of a second chance romance reality television show sounds equal parts awful and like something that would be so fun to watch.  It makes a good premise for a book, and I did really enjoy that aspect of the story.  It was really fun to read about the drama and the manipulations the producers did in order to try and make the show entertaining, such as how many times they had to film moments in order to get the best shot of it.

In this novel we get the points of view of both Maya and Skye, and I really appreciated that we got both sides.  Both were interesting characters and both were well written.  I liked reading their perspectives and seeing their takes on either side of their respective relationships with Jordy.  They both brought something really interesting to the table.  I think I slightly preferred reading Maya's perspective because she was impulsive in an interesting way.  I also found her drive for revenge very interesting, but I also felt that she had really great character growth.  Skye was also really interesting to read about but I didn't love her as much as I loved Maya.  Both perspectives felt unique though.

The storyline was really well done.  I didn't know exactly how things were going to play out, and so it kept me guessing just a bit as we went through.  I didn't know how Maya would get even with Jordy, but I did really like reading about her plan.  It was decently twisty, but I liked that it came around to some pretty decent female friendships.  There was, of course, some cattiness at the start, but by the end of it all they were really strong friends, and I really appreciated that.

I will also say that I really enjoyed the romance between Skye and Maya.  I do enjoy when you get a bit of a slow burn relationship and this had elements of that.  They started off hating each other and then became allies and then became friends and then more.  It was a great progression and I loved being on that journey.

Overall, I had so much fun reading this story and I highly recommend it.  You should definitely get yourself a copy when it comes out in November.

First of all thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Publishers for an early copy of this novel!
Getting into the book, I loved this. Sophie Gonzales is one of my fav authors, I really enjoyed “If This Gets Out” and “Perfect on Paper” so I already knew I was going to be obsessed with this. Sophie always has a way with her stories and characters. In this book especially, it was enemies to lovers and the tension oh my god. Also, the plot I thought was super creative but again the author is known to do an amazing job with that. Overall, I was entertained by this new rom-com and I think everyone should go read it right now! Definitely a 5/5!

2 years ago, Jordy cheated on Maya, and she hasn’t forgotten. Especially when he’s all over magazines and the internet as the younger brother of the new princess of Challone. He calls and begs Maya to be part of his reality dating show, Second Chance, where he will date all his exes again. This could be her chance to take him down once and for all. But what Maya doesn’t account for is seeing Skye, the very woman that he cheated with, and warming up to her more than expected.

John Tucker Must Die meets The Bachelor? Count me in! I loved the premise of this book so much, and especially the female friendships. The moral of the story is that men suck lol. The only thing missing for me was some of the extra romance background, like Maya, I found we focused too much on Jordy some of the time. Overall would recommend as a really easy, quick read!
