The author's no-nonsense presentation of menopause and all it's highs and lows was refreshing. It is frustrating to find so little information on this inevitable stage of life that more than half the world's population experiences. Gilbert-Lenz talks to the reader as if she is in the room, sharing a coffee along with the information. While there were some things that might be hard to hear (like the fact that the weight gain might be here to stay), the practical life modifications are achievable by most readers. Take care of your body and it will take care of you, even through this rock road of menopause.

Menopause Bootcamp is an assessable and well written informative book about menopause and peri menopause which is easy to read and relate to.
It is presented in a friendly but professional tone which I appreciate, it has just the right amount of humour and lots of information which isn’t overwhelming.
This would be a book to dip in and out of at all stages of menopause, a great reference book.

I liked this better than Menopause Manifesto, and found the information to be more accessible. While some of the material is similar to Manifesto, there's less to wade through to get to the relief.

Truly eye-opening! If I had had a medical care provider with this sort of insight and compassion, I daresay my life would be quite different right now. The only reason I won't be purchasing it for my library is because I work in a high school library- no need for information about menopause! However, I WILL be purchasing it for myself and likely for my friends who are going through the menopausal transition as well. This makes me feel like I am able to handle and even conquer whatever comes my way as I age. Definitely recommend reading this.
