I was so excited to hear this author had a new series starting, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read by them. I enjoyed that it took place at a winery, since I haven’t read any surrounding one. The descriptive writing made me feel like I was there.

Margot was such a professional business woman when it comes to the family winery. The fact that she lets loose once and it becomes this big issue for her made me genuinely feel for her. Luke was one of my favorite love interests I have ever read. He was so humble and sweet, I was rooting for him the whole time.

Jasmine has a way of writing the most wonderful spicy scenes. Her writing style in general is amazing, descriptive, without boring me. I also really enjoyed seeing the family dynamics of Margot and Elliot throughout the book.

I had read Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and The Proposal a few years back and was excited to read Drunk on Love! It has a completely new set of characters (at least to me anyways), and I found the setting of California Wine Country quite fun! Drunk on Love is one of those romance tropes where two people that want to be together can’t be together due to circumstances (sprinkled with a bit of miscommunication).

In this specific case, Margot Noble, who owns the Noble Winery with her brother, happens to be(come) a boss to Luke, former-Silicon-Valley techie who is currently going through a quarter life crisis. Margot and Luke are such likable characters. Everyone in the book (except for one single person) really is, which makes Drunk on Love a fun and lighthearted romance book that I wanted it to be. My only (and very minor) compliant is that I feel like the title and the book cover do not encapsulate the premise and energy of the book.

I love Jasmine Guillory. I will read anything she writes. This just solidifies my feelings for her. She writes relatable characters that don’t make readers feel like they need to be 6 feet tall and 100 pounds for someone to find them attractive. She makes readers feel like being a real person is okay.

Drunk on Love by Jasmine Guillory is another one of her sweet romantic standalone novels. We meet Margot Noble, who runs a winery in California Wine Country with her brother, Elliot. Margot is the CEO, who handles marketing, wine tasting, parties; and her brother handles the land. Because she has been overworking, planning on a special wine party, she is stressful due to her brother not happy about the plans; she ends up at her best friend (Sydney) restaurant/bar to relax. A very handsome man enters the place, and in a short time they spend the evening talking, and ends up having a one-night stand, that was memorable; neither expecting to see each other again.

Luke Williams, quit his job and moves back to Napa, where is mother and best friend live. He gets a temporary job, and when he meets the beautiful women at the bar, he is immediately attracted to her; as they spend the night together. But the next morning when he starts his new job, he is shocked to see the woman whom he spent the night with is indeed his new boss. Margot was also shocked to see Luke, and goes out of her way to keep things professional, even though she still feels their chemistry. Luke offers to quit, but Margot convinces him to stay, as they do need help in the marketing area; despite their attraction, they both do their best to not act on those feelings.

I really liked all of the characters in this story; including Margot, Luke, Sydney, Elliot, Ashley, Taylor, just to name a few. I loved the concept with the winery, and Margot’s plans for the party, and how wonderful they all were. In time, Margot and Elliot will clear out the misunderstandings, which will open things in the winery even more. When Luke has to quit to help his mother, both Margot and Luke finally act on their feelings, as they made a great couple, so much fun.

Drunk on Love is a sweet lighthearted wonderful romantic story, in a winery setting, with a couple that were afraid to admit their feelings, until things opened up and the chemistry was off the wall. Margot and Luke were so very likable, as was their friends and family. Drunk on Love was a fantastic story, so well written by Jasmine Guillory.

This was a fun light-hearted read. I enjoyed the plot of the main character's hooking up only to find out that he is actually her new employee. Their relationship was cute to watch unfold.

Drunk on Love takes place on a Black-owned vineyard in Napa and is filled with strong characters who will make you root for them even when they're making decisions that make you want to scream. Love that for me as a reader.

I loved the setting, the conflict was believable, and the chemistry was hot. Just like Jasmine Guillory always delivers.

Margot Noble loves her job as co-owner of a Napa Valley winery, but she’s tired. They are still new at this and often disagree on how to do things; truthfully, their relationship is strained. Margot and Luke get acquainted and when sparks fly, they have a one-night stand. End of story. Until Margot returns to work the next day and realizes that the new employee her brother hired is Luke. Now she’s his boss and she needs to treat him professionally. If only she could stop thinking about him. Luke just needs this winery job until he can get back to the tech world, where he thinks he belongs. Except his mom thinks he’s on sabbatical and dating best friend Avery, and he keeps finding excuses not to tell her the truth, especially while he also can’t seem to stop thinking about that night with Margot. Guillory’s latest is romantic and steamy.

I wanted to love this book. I really did.

The overall story was cute. It piqued my interest. I thought for sure there'd be some laughs and swoon.

I got none of the above. I got a slow moving book that had a handful of eyeroll inducing moments.

The story line is good.. The writing of said story wasn't for me.

Margot has lived and breathed the winery since her uncle left it to both her and her brother. When her best friend convinces her to start chatting with the cute young guy at the bar, Margot finds he great company and the two end up going home together. Skip to work the next morning where her brother introduces his new hire…her one night stand. It wouldn’t be a problem to ignore him if the sex wasn’t so good and if he didn’t continue to show what a great guy he is.

So first of all I have to say this. It is cruel to read a book about a winery, filled with all the wines and cheeses while you have covid. Massive fail on my part here. That said, I always love Jasmine’s books, but I think this is one of my favorites of hers! I loved both Margot and Luke, and was rooting for their romance from page one. There were for sure a few moments where I wanted them to just communicate about certain things, but what would a good rom com be without some poor communication? Besides the fact that I couldn’t enjoy this book with wine and cheese, it was a great covid read to pass the quarantine time!

Jasmine Guillory is a favorite, and this book is fantastic fun. Love Margot and Luke's meet cute, and all complications hit the right notes. And she's older than him! Can't wait for more.

I liked seeing the progression of the relationship between Margot and Luke. I liked how it was a one night stand to friends to more.

I feel like the character development just ok. And I didn’t really love the argument between Margot and Luke. It felt unnecessary and silly and that it happened because they didn’t really know each other.

Loved the Napa setting of Jasmine Guillory's latest. As usual, there are tons of great food descriptions that make you want to eat what the characters are eating! Loved the setup of this age-gap romance and the dynamics it explored. I am always thrilled when Jasmine has a new book out, and I'm excited for her to explore a new world of characters outside the Wedding Date universe.

Margot and like have a one night stand, but he hopes she'll text him to continue a relationship. She's torn, until he shows up the next morning to work as her newest employee.

This was a fun age gap romance. At times, the age gap seemed larger than it was because Luke did some particularly immature behaviors. But the two were such a great match for each other. And they had sizzling chemistry throughout.

I loved the winery backdrop and the shout out to supporting black-owned businesses. And I really enjoyed the appearance of Maddie, Alexa, and Olivia from The Wedding Date, The Wedding Party, and Party of Two. My favorite parts of series are getting to sneak a look back at previous characters.

I loved the dual points of view and matching narration. Ryan Vincent Anderson is fast becoming one of my favorite male narrators, and Heidi Franklin did great as well.

I expect a lot of things from a Jasmine Guillory novel. Things like strong women and swoon-worthy heroes, fun banter, and lots of smexy times. What I don't expect? Boredom. And while I got a lot of the good stuff from Drunk on Love, I also got a lot of...a really bland plot. I just didn't feel a real connection to either of our leads, and was more intrigued by a couple of the side characters that I hope get their own stories (Avery and Sydney). And maybe this is just a me thing, but I am so sick of romance books that overuse miscommunication as a trope. Just about every single relationship in this story suffers from an overabundance of secrets and lies of omission. Margot and Luke. Margot and her brother. Luke and his mother. I just need characters that can act like mature adults and open their mouths and HAVE A CONVERSATION. *sigh* But I will continue to read Guillory's books and hope that this one was just a bump in the road.

I loved this book! It was such a fun quick read. I found myself blushing and giggling the whole time. The perfect summer book to unwind with a glass of wine with. I loved how well the characters cared about each other and put each other's feelings ahead of themselves. I kinda wish we got more moments with her brother Elliot and honestly I would love a book on him!

Although it was tough to leave behind the world that all other books by this author took place in, it was worth it. And we got a quick glimpse of our friends :) I loved this book, the characters were excellent and the setting was a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

Both Luke and Margot are afraid to admit feelings which makes them even more relatable and more of a page-turner. Not "come on with it" but more "cannot wait until they fall in love."

Bookhearts, Drunk on Love is a cute romance story to be paired perfectly with a chilled bottle of sweet red wine. Kick your feet up and enjoy both to the last drop!

Jasmine Guillory and a book set in a winery? Yes, please! Great characters, twisty romance and I learned a bit about making wine. Highly recommend this book.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Margot and Luke. Margot helps run a family winery. Luke quit an IT company and took a job at Margot’s family winery. They meet at a bar and have a one night stand. The next day he shows at Margot’s family winery to start his new job. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

What’s not to love - a love story with a strong black female vineyard owner as the lead character in a taleof romance that takes place in Napa. I enjoy Guillory’s fresh take on easy reading romances.
