Kate Robert is one of my favourite Smutt writers. She deff. turned the dial up from smutty to errotica with this book! Yes, the storyline is very simple and easy to read and there is deff. more spicy then plot here. (hense errotica)
POV Mina is a young half human half vampire just pawned off to vampire Malachi; finally having escaped her fathers control. There is immediate chemistry between these two and she finds herself engulfed in his seductive world. It soon becomes a love triangle with vampires Wolf and Rylan; things really heat up. This trio ends up on the run from Mina father and his coven; while planning to kill him and take over the kingdom with Mina as the rightful heir. This did remind me a bit of Twighlight but what we end up with in this storyline are; Vampires, Seraphs, demons and monster hunters. Loved the chemistry, the spicy/errotic action, the suspense. Fantastic cover!
I did at times feel like the sex was just a bit over the top covering almost every chapter, but i still enjoyed this. While I can see that the Vampire cover will appeal to vampire book fans, this is not your typical dark vampire fantasy. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This was a first! I thought I knew all about vampires and their interesting proclivities, but this crew taught me a few things. Per books by Katee, it was smoking hot (sometimes literally) and I really liked Mina and her sassiness. No doubt there will be more titles, but even if there are not, this one was worth the read!

I love Katee Robert, she does smut so well, but this was somehow too much and yet not enough at the same time. Maybe there IS such a thing as too much sex in a romance book lol

Overall, not a bad time but not my favorite

This may have been the spiciest Katee Robert book I’ve read so far…. But I haven’t read any kraken or dragon stories yet. And I’ve heard about a certain dragon… so let’s emphasize on yet.

It’s been a long time since I read any vampire love stories. I had a burn out after true blood, twilight and vampire diaries all were at their prime. But Court of the Vampire Queen was a perfect reintroduction to the genre.

The world building was dark and fun with different types of vampires and creatures. I wasn’t sure if I was going to love anyone other than Mal after seeing Mina’s chemistry with him. But Wolf and Rylan are more than a perfect fit for this relationship. All bringing spice in their own ways, and loyalties/love in other ways. They all balanced each other and all had equal relationships within the four. Their polyamorous relationship didn’t feel like it was just added in to add spice. Very much like all of the books I’ve read from Katee, I feel she respects all love and the beauty in them.

It’s the first story I’ve read of Katee that wasn’t a retelling, and it just reassured me that Katee doesn’t need to write a retell to build spicy couples in exciting storylines.

The plot to the story was unique and Mina’s character developed in more ways than just her powers. And some interesting twists that I wasn’t expecting.

I was fortunate to get this story as an Ebook ARC, but preordered a paperback copy from my local indigo as soon as I got about 20% in.

Court of the Vampire Queen is spicy, reverse harem, fantasy story that is relentlessly heavy on the smut. Don't get me wrong, I love a good smutty read as much as the next romance lover but it has to have substance to the story as well! When 80% of the book is just sex, it is kind of hard to follow along with what is actually happening plot wise. Which is a shame, because there was so much potential for this story to be great.

When Mina, daughter of a powerful vampire, is gifted to Malachi (another vampire from a powerful bloodline) her life is forever changed. Add in Malachi's two friends Wolf and Rylan and things get crazy quickly. I really liked all of these characters. They are all well developed and brought something different to the table, and they definitely had some explosive chemistry.

So while the smut level was a bit much for me, I do like Katee Robert as an author and she is amazing at creating these other worlds and making you feel like you are right there with the characters. It definitely won't put me off reading more of her books.

While the writing in this book isn’t the best, Katee Robert sure knows how to write porn!
I’ve read some of Katee’s other work and I’ve enjoyed the writing in them, so I assume my disliking for this one comes from the fact that these are three of her older novellas being republished.
I found that the plot was very… VERY repetitive. I got exhausted from hearing about their plan with Minas dad over and over and over again.
That being said, I adored reading about Mina, Malachi, Rylan, and Wolfs story. Their polycule was so sweet and sinful. As with all of Katees stories, the spicy scenes were SPICY. And i enjoyed every second of them. But also, the fluff!! The sweet and tender moments between the four of them was beautiful.
I’ll give this one a 3.5/5, merely because the plot was lacklustre… but who’s reading Katee Robert for the plot?

If you’ve heard of Katee Robert, surely you’re aware that she brings the heat in all of her books. What do I mean by heat? I mean that she has such a way of writing that you feel a hot flush and tingles under your skin. You might want to save Court of the Vampire Queen for nighttime reading at home. *hint hint*

Court of the Vampire Queen is a steaming compilation of her books “Sacrifice”, “Heir”, and “Queen”.

Mina is a half vampire, half human, that is sacrificed to an imprisoned vampire named Malachi. Either Malachi will succumb to his hunger and drain her dry, or he’ll keep her as his play-thing. If she lives, she’ll eventually get pregnant. The whole vampire bite process is extremely orgasmic. Mina’s father wants her to produce Malachi’s baby that he would ultimately steal, and then would kill her. Her whole life Mina has been a disappointment to him. The only thing he wants in life is power and control of everyone in the vampire race.

Yes, This is a reverse harem story, but it’s SO much more!
Right away, from their very first encounter there is sexual tension. He can’t control himself when it comes to needing blood. He pounces. This is when we realize how enjoyable it is to be bitten in this world. It’s the first of many orgasms for Mina. Katee Robert doesn’t stick to traditional vanilla sex scenes. Eventually we meet Wolf and Rylan. What happens when you add one woman, and three attractive males? R-e-v-e-r-s-e harem.

I mean it when I say this book should be valued as much more than just a #smuttok review. Each of the men have had relationships spanning more years than Mina has lived. It’s as if she was just a missing link between them. She completes them, and they empower her. Clearly, physical touch is all of these vampire’s love language. Beyond that, they encourage Mina to be brave. They prove to her that she’s strong enough to stand against her father. With their support she starts to see herself as more than a halfblooded mistake. Mina evolves into the kind of woman who deserves to be queen. Forced into a situation with impossible odds against them, Mina and her men use their combined strengths to go to war against her father.

I appreciated the content warnings at the beginning of this book. In my case, I was able to take heed of the warnings and continue reading. I found such healthy examples of love throughout this book that I feel grateful to have read this.

Content Warning: Dubious consent, blood play, breeding, abusive parent (father), patricide, pregnancy, blood, gore, murder, explicit sex, vomiting (cause pregnancy), discussions about abortion, abusive parent (father, historical, off-page), blood play, attempted sexual assault (alluded to, non-graphic), attempted drugging

Okay, if I was going in for just steam...yes, yes, YES! There was so much steam and it was so well written; literally everything I wanted.

However, if I was going in for some plot...I have strong issues with the face that a threesome with these vamps gave this woman the ability to "unlock" herself and her powers. Like, I simply do not like the messaging that in order for her to "let go" she needed domination from men - rather than her own innate strength. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

In the end, I'm glad she had a part as the savior. I will continue to read Katee Robert...because again, those steamy scenes are everything!

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
Court of the Vampire Queen is a collection of previously published works by Katee Robert, the Bloodline Vampires series, which is being released by Sourcebooks in a print edition (with Robert simultaneously retaining rights to sell the collection and the individual novellas independently). This work is somewhat more in line with the style Robert is more famous for, being high-heat, low-plot, so anyone picking it up solely after reading her Dark Olympus series (like I was) should be prepared for that, as well as the fact that these were written as three distinct, but connected works originally.
However, while I’m usually not the target audience for this type of story, in that I’m very picky about erotic books I pick up and vampires aren’t really my thing, specifically because I don’t like the way they behave, especially regarding consent and agency, I was willing to put my trust in Katee Robert, especially as she’s known to be transparent about the sensitive content she includes in her work (and that’s no different here). And I happened to be in a weird mood with the “usual suspects” I typically preferred, and it just happened to mean I was in the right mood to consume something a bit more out-there like this.
I generally liked the dynamics of this one. I typically steer clear of books with “reverse harem” dynamics (not to mention marketing), because of the problematic connotation of the phrase and the potential for homophobia/biphobia among the men. But Robert, who writes many types of polyam relationships, including queer ones, is an author who can be trusted to be compassionate in this area.
And this is very much a story where Mina can hold her own among these very powerful men. The dynamics she forms with each of them, and that they have with each other, while primarily sexual, are interesting to read.
The minimal plot that exists is centered on the mutual conflict they have with Mina’s father. Mina has longed to escape her father’s control and abuse, and the bond that grows between her and the three men eventually brings them into the fight against him as well.
This book was a lot of fun, and inspires me to want to explore more of Katee Robert’s backlist. With the previously mentioned caveats in mind, I would recommend it to any Katee Robert fan who missed out on this trilogy the first time around, or anyone who likes erotic paranormal romance.

Katee Robert has really carved out a niche with her monster romance series, I had previously read The Dragon’s Bride and didn’t realise this book was in the same world. If you’re looking for vampire romance with a twist and guaranteed heat look no further than this book. I found it built more interest for me for the ongoing deal with a demon series, and seemed to serve as a prequel. Overall thoroughly readable and a fun romp, it did seem overly long and became slightly repetitive but I found I couldn’t put it down.

thank you, Net Galley and the publisher for sending me an e-arc for review.

DNF. This book was unbearable to read. The book starts immediately with smut (the first chapter). There is no character building and this book seems like it’s just here for smut and vibes. Which is fine, it’s just not for me.

I have to admit that I have a thing about vampire novels; ever since I read the Interview with a Vampire series by Anne Rice, I pick up vampire novels in the hopes that they'll sweep me into a world of otherworldly creatures and make the real world fade away. (And to be honest, it's been so long since I've read that Anne Rice series, I have no idea if it holds up, but I do remember being completely absorbed by it way back when). Anyway. Court of the Vampire Queen definitely holds up. It's got that balance between a world that we can all recognize and then one that is completely foreign...but not so foreign that we feel lost. This is probably because Katee Robert does such a good job of making us care about the lives of Mina, Malachi, Wolf, and Rylan. While a large part of their story involves them trying to figure out how to escape Mina's evil father with their lives intact (and then overtake him with their lives intact), it also delves into tapping into who you are, who you want to be, and how you want to live your lives. Each of these characters is battling a past that threatens to overtake the happiness of their futures and together they help each other figure some things out.

But let's not overlook the pure fun. They're vampires. Sexy vamps. And did I mention that this is a reverse haram virgin situation? Because it is. Lots of steam. Lots of humor. Lots of world building. I had a ton of fun reading it and the only reason I knocked a star off is because I wanted a little more at the end--more in the compound, more of the aftermath. Otherwise this was a quick, sexy, fun escape.

***Check TW for this one, there's quite the list including but not limited to: blood play, patricide/ murder, past abuse, and others***

This is so hard for me to rate. I went through all the emotions while reading this... I was initially excited to see a Katee Robert as Read Now. I clicked the button so fast I didn't have time to do too much research. That's okay, I figured it would be smutty and romantic. It is certainly smutty. Smuttiest smutty smutfest......and not much else. There is a story line but we don't get too much of it in the first two Parts. That being said, when we get to Part three and we get more story line than smut it felt lacking in substance. The actual action (and ending) seemed rushed.

I felt bored at parts, I blushed at parts, I felt a tiny moment of thrill in the middle, and a lot of "I'm over this" in between.

It seems like this is 3 existing novellas/ shorts smashed together to form one novel. If so, I'd think it would have already gone through some edits... It needs another lookover, specifically Part Three. There were typos & grammar issues galore. Also, since it is one novel, broken out into three Parts, I don't think it is super necessary to include ALL the details of previous Parts. I like that when I'm reading different books but since this is all within one cover it doesn't feel needed to remind me that Mina was sent by her father to basically be a blood bank and womb for Malachi every new Part.

Honestly, it could be better but it wasn't terrible either. Going middle of the road with 3 stars.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy to read and review.

Thank you to Netgalley and Katee Robert for this ARC.

Release date: 06/09/22.

This reverse harem was chef's kiss 💋. The spice was endless, the men was sexy as hell and the storyline was good and easy to read. All the spice won't be to some reader's taste but I know plenty who will enjoy it. I can't wait for the spin off book. Read Mina's story to find out more.

Katee does it again! When I'm in the mood for a spicy romance (often with mythical figures) that is both very steamy and also thoughtful and well-written, she is a go-to author.
I didn’t know this before reading, but this is actually her earlier Bloodline Vampire series combined into one 'new' book. Given that it was three books put into one, I would have appreciated some further editing to combine those into one book that flowed. Because this is three combined into one, there are several instances that repeat some of the things that readers just read/covered. That was my only qualm with the storylines - that and I really would have enjoyed even more storylines - the sexytimes were hot but sometimes too frequent.

I've been a fan of Katee Robert since I discovered her books last year so I was really excited to read this. I learned that it was a reprinting of three of her older novellas and was excited to check out some of her older work. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with this book. You can tell that Katee's writing has improved so much over the years. Court of the Vampire Queen had good steam but unfortunately, the plot is just not there. I think the original novellas should have been edited before this edition was released.

Katee is amazing as always! This book was just so good? I loved the way the individual relationships between each member of the relationship was fleshed out, especially Mina/Malachi and Mina/Rylan. I can't wait to get my hands on the B&N special edition of this book!

When I saw romance, vampires and a ruling queen, I knew I had to read this one!

It certainly did not disappoint. Full of action, twists and turns and advent that had me biting my lip, wanting to be in the midst of it all

Lots of extras hot spicy romance! Just incredible. Not for the prudish.

Recommend for those who like vampires and steamy romance

Thank you NetGalley, Katee Robert, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for granting me an ARC in return for my honest opinion.

Court of the Vampire Queen combines Katee Robert's previously published trilogy: Sacrifice, Heir and Queen.

I read these titles as they came out yet I completly swooned over the beauty that is the new cover that combines them.

True to my nature I adore books with vampires. Unfortunately, even the reverse harem aspect didn't save this book from going downhill from act to act. Katee Robert writes one hell of good smut and her spicy scenes are usually one of a kind. The first act is around 50% smut, the second is mostly smut and the last one, for a change, doesn't have much smut at all! I usually enjoy more consistency with my spice in books.

I loved Mina being in the centre of the guys but that changed from act to act and she became a womb to fill. Yes, the lovers of a good MM in RH and breeding kink definitely should pick this one up. The third act definitely picks up most of the plot I hate how some of my main questions were left unanswered.

Basically, don't go expecting your favourite book, but definitely expect some good smut!

This book was STELLAR and I would expect no less. Fabulous best-selling author Katee Robert has done it again, but this time - with vampires. ;)
