Half human and half vampire, Mina has always wanted to escape her father's control. When she is gifted to a powerful bloodline vampire as part of a political move, she starts to plan her escape. However she doesn't anticipate the vampire, Malachi, being more than meets the eye. She soon meets his two closest friends and together they work to overthrow her father, and lose their hearts to each other in the meantime.

This was originally 3 novellas that have been put together into one book. While there is some summarizing at the beginning of each novella that perhaps is unnecessary now that it's one book, it was pretty limited so wasn't super distracting.

I read this in one night and couldn't put it down! It's definitely not necessarily my go to genre but I love Katee Robert and will follow her wherever! I really liked Mina's personality and how different the 3 vampires were from each other.

Overall was a fun time!

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC in exchange for a review.

Once again, Katee Robert writes another masterpiece.

I was not expecting this to be a why-choose romance, and this is also the first why-choose romance where the men also partake in each other. This book was 70% smut and 30% plot, but the plot got really interesting towards the end. The four year jump was unexpected, I don’t know if she plans to continue this series, but I especially enjoyed the epilogue at the end that ties into her A Deal With A Demon series. I look forward to reading about Grace’s story.

The amount of repetition was too much! The beginning started off so strong. The background and characters were strong and the plot seemed like it was heading somewhere great but after part 1 everything became mundane. The characters would experience something and then a few chapters later you would be reading about the experience that just happened as a recap which was entirely unnecessary. I feel like if the repetition was removed the book would have been 50 pages shorter. Not to mention the pacing was not consistent throughout. It started off strong and fast past and then everything slowed down which resulted in the ending to be rushed. I am so bummed that the book didn’t stay as strong as part 1 throughout. Overall, I give it a 2.5 ⭐️

Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and the author for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I’m a fan of Katee Robert and have really enjoyed her previous books. With this one, I felt that I needed more detail to go with the plot. I felt that we were skipping moments that would have great places to add details that would have explained the bloodlines and inner workings of the courts better, just to get to the sex scenes. I did enjoy the story and was very intrigued by the epilogue. I look forward to seeing where that portion of the story continues.

Taking this book for exactly what it is…I enjoyed this one. The world building could be stronger. The characters could be more fleshed out. But despite all that, I just had to finish this one. I needed to see how it would end and how would everyone end up together. This one was a 3.5 star read for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Mina is a half Vampire half human, never belonging. Her dad gives her to Malachi to try to strengthen his powerful bloodline. Then Malachis friends show up. Two Bloodline Vampires who are powerful in their own right. 1 doesn’t trust Mina. One doesn’t care, as long as Malachi shares. They soon realize Mina is more than she seems. Between the four of them they can surely defeat her evil father:

The story felt rushed and confusing in places. Mina WAS more than she seemed, and I was invested but I felt like it was glazed over in favor of the fight with her dad. This was first a Novella trilogy and is being republished as a book.
This was my first time finishing a Reverse Harem and I enjoyed Katee Robert being my first. ‘The steam was top notch, although the plot seemed vague and confusing. I liked her Vampire universe and would definitely read more.

DNF, about 30%

I truly wanted to like this, the cover is beautiful and Katee Roberts' name made me ecstatic when my ARC request was approved by NetGalley. Yet I felt my soul being sucked away as any semblance of plot is instantly killed with a faux sense of female autonomy and a strange anti birth-control message wrapped in pretty boys and 'not-like-other-girls' MC sex scenes. Somehow, this book managed to make a poly-vampire-human fantasy smut novel so mind-numbingly boring I began praying my kindle would spontaneously blow up so I would have and excuse to not continue.
I'm taking the L on this one, someone let me know if this gets a better edit before it's release or at least improves in parts 2&3 because I just can't.

Wow - vampires, vampires, and more vampires! I think that this is the steamiest book I've ever read - it has a ton of spicy scenes right from the get-go (so if you're uncomfortable with that, this isn't the book for you). The spice was at the forefront of the first 2 thirds of this book but the plot, stakes, and action were a lot more prominent towards the end. I enjoyed finding out about Mina's blossoming powers and I loved her connection with the three vampires. I loved all the paranormal and romantic elements used in this book - it was very unique and memorable in comparison to other paranormal/ fantasy romance books I've read in the past. I will definitely be reading more of Katee Robert in the future - I'm really hoping that there is/ will be another book where we find out what happens/ happened to Grace's character (her fate is kind of left as a cliffhanger at the end of this book). I highly recommend this book to fans of the Lore & Lust by Karla Nikole, the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon, and the War of Two Queens by Jennifer L Armentrout.

Can Katee Robert do wrong? I think not! Reading her take on Vampires was fantastic. I had not read this series previously so this was a fresh read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the spice, the lore, and the characters. If you enjoyed Wicked Villains and like vamps, pick this up!

I’ve seen quite a few reviews complaining that this story has little to no plot and far too much smut. The individuals who left those reviews clearly do not understand the type of books Ms. Robert writes. For the rest of us… we expected this, wanted this, love this. Is this book a deep love story about a lowly Dhampir and her Vampire lovers? Not really. But, is the smut fantastic? Absolutely!

Mina is introduced to us as a young Dhampir, whose father is a Bloodline Vampire (meaning he is far more powerful than just your run of the mill vampire), but she has no power of her own. Used as a pawn in her father’s game, she is practically a sacrifice to Malachi, another Bloodline Vampire. She doesn’t understand the full extent of his circumstances and the true hold her father has over him. Then, enter Wolf and Rylan, two other Bloodline Vampires with a long history with Malachi.

This is when things really get interesting. We learn about the world they live in and the intricacies of their relationship as Mina does—not all is as it seems. And as these four get closer and closer and come into their power as a foursome, we finally see Mina in all her glory.

Let’s not forget about the smut though. This MMMF story is brimming with sexual tension. The sex scenes are numerous and often intricate ordeals involving everyone or just a pair—whoever is available when Mina is feeling frisky or vice versa. Is it logical? Not really. Is it based in reality? Not that either. Is it fun and interesting? Oh yes! And while most might assume that’s the smut is sex for the sake of sex, Ms. Robert does a wonderful job of giving each scene a true purpose. Rarely do these four engage in these activities without there being an ulterior motive, even if that motive is merely to calm someone, distract them, etc. Honestly, for something that could be categorized as Erotica, the smut scenes are handled beautifully and don’t feel pointless.

My biggest concern with Reverse Harem stories is making sure that each character holds their own and is different enough from each other to serve their purpose and make sense. Mina, Malachi, Wolf, and Rylan are their own individual persons, with unique personalities, lives, motives, and backstories. You never end up feeling like the story would be the same without one of them and in end, I feel in love with each of them for different reasons.

If you like great smut, vampires, other paranormal creatures, reverse harem, unique takes on paranormal hierarchies, and lots of blood and gore…. This story is for you!

TWs: dub-con, blood play, patricide, pregnancy, blood, gore, murder, explicit sex, vomiting (caused by pregnancy), discussions of abortion, abusive parent (backstory, off-page), attempted sexual assault (alluded to, non-graphic), and attempted drugging.

“The thought of living a life that stretches for hundreds of years used to scare me, but each day now brings something new and wonderful. Even the bad stuff isn’t world-ending because I’m not facing it alone. I’ll never have to face it alone ever again. And neither will my men.”

Plot Overview: This story follows Mina who is the powerless daughter of a very powerful bloodline vampire. Since Mina is seen as practically useless by her father because she didn’t inherit any of his powers, she is given to another bloodline vampire to be a vessel of blood for him to consume and someone for him to breed and hopefully produce a child with that her father can use to gain more control. This vampire, Malachi, has been confined in his home with a blood ward placed by her father. Mina, Malachi, and his two friends he has long histories with, Wolf and Rylan, work together to break the blood bond that binds him and stop Mina’s fathers attempts to gain ultimate control. BUT you should know, I wouldn’t recommend reading this book if you’re looking for a dense and complex plot. The main focus in this novel is the smut for sure so if that’s not what you’re looking for, this definitely ain’t the book for you!

Mina: Mina starts out as an insecure young woman which is completely understandable with the horrible kind of father she had growing up, but she really starts to come into her own with guidance from the men she comes to love. I found her a bit immature at first and some of her actions annoyed me in the beginning (ex: like when she tried to get back at Malachi by stirring his jealousy) but I enjoy when characters have flaws that make them more relatable and imperfect like real human beings. Overall, throughout her insecurities and flaws she was never spineless and always defended herself and I loved that about her.
“I will give them the strong leader they crave. Unlike my father, though, I won’t abuse my power over them. I fully intend to be a queen they’ll grow to love over time, or at least respect.”

Malachi: Malachi is our first love interest and I really enjoyed him from the beginning. He is patient and always seems to try to do the right thing and was the first one to care about Mina’s thoughts and feelings. His devotion to those he cares about knows no bounds and was utterly devoted to the heroine from the second he met her. He would do anything and everything to protect the family they created.
“I love them, too. We are a unit, Mina. All four of us. I know this hasn’t been an easy journey and it’s not likely to get easier, but we will prevail. We will cut down anyone who threatens our future. Anyone.”

Wolf: Wolf is the staple bad boy (well technically he’s way too old to be a boy and is a bloodline vampire 😂) of the group. He is impulsive, completely unhinged, and always has a sexual remark to make. I absolutely loved him and could probably say he was my favorite one in the group. He was always down for a good time and kept me entertained.
“Wolf is chaos personified, and that truth is even more apparent when he paints. He might kiss me or try to cut my throat on our next meeting. I never know. He scares me, but a small, secret part of me likes it. I feel particularly alive when I’m dancing on the blade edge with Wolf.”

Rylan: Rylan is a very old bloodline vampire who is definitely the mature and reserved one in the group. In almost every why-choose romance there is the one that fights his feelings for the heroine and Rylan is that love interest. It took a lot for him to break his walls down and move past his history with Malachi but once he did he was completely devoted to Mina and would do anything to protect and please her.
“When I first met him, I thought he was an unbelievable ass. I still think that sometimes, but beneath his cold exterior is a man who cares far more than anyone would guess.”

Thoughts: This book will have you sweating y'all 🥵 This is one of the spiciest books I have ever read and as usual with Katee Robert, the smut was divine 🔥 She always delivers on the spice and this book was no exception. Overall this was a really enjoyable read if you’re looking for something where the storyline takes backstage and the smut is the focus. The plot was simple and predictable but that’s exactly what I was expecting for this book. I wish there was more backstory for each of Mina’s men and more details on her fathers history of how he came to so much power but I don’t believe this was intended to be a plot driven novel, so it was not a deep concern for me. If you’re looking for unbelievably hot vampire smut and a romance with devoted heroes that will do anything for their heroine, this is the book for you!

I wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t get into it. I wanted more from the story but it was completely overshadowed. The book immediately turns into smut within the first chapter, I wish it was drawn out a little more. None the less I still love this author and will continue to read her books.

'By far the most sensual, steamy & 'action'-packed book I've read in a very long time. My jaw still hasn't left the floor! -TheBritishBibliophile'

Katee Robert has fast-become one of those authors that you're hooked on every word, regardless of it being in a book or on an Instagram post. After coming across her during the pandemic, she has become a staple read of an author and someone who's work I must absolutely consume no matter what the content of the book. This time was no exception.

Court of the Vampire Queen captured my interest first and foremost by the attractive cover and artwork which, like the content and creatures within, lured me straight in to wanting to read it. I have a penchant for the supernatural, specifically vampires, harboured from my teen years so it was a no-brainer as to if I was going to request to read it. Immediately yes! Compliments to the cover designer who created this masterpiece which is indeed, fit for a Queen.

Naturally I wasted no time at all diving into the story within the cover and ho-ly water, no time was wasted getting down to business. Literally. Many of us go through what is known as 'bangxiety' when it comes to seeing--or rather, reading--how long it takes for the characters to do what they need to do, so to speak. Katee is straight in there with this one putting that banxiety at ease and giving us the goods right from the off. This is a quintessential taste into what we would be in for with the rest of the novel, but it only gets better with each time and with every additional body added into the mix. Katee's knack for writing some of the hottest, steamiest and temperature-raising scenes has not failed her here with this write at all. I even got tired from just reading these scenes and that by far is a compliment to not only reading and enjoying those moments, but connecting and feeling the impact of said scene. By far, this was Katee's steamiest novel to date. One that I highly recommend fans of the genre and of Katee should pick up immediately upon release.

The storyline itself carried an equally entrancing quality to it, as expected of any Katee Robert novel. You're not getting a run-of-the-mill story, you're getting a unique tale that bleeds the very essence of the author who wrote it. Which in this case, is very appropriate.

Although the storyline drags out the main plot throughout the entirety of the novel, it is far from boring, dull or bland. There's more than aplenty to keep us entertained--in or our of bed or entwined with a body or two--, and our interests continuously piqued at the situations that arise, mysteries to be solved and everything in-between. Praise should be given to Katee here for not letting the story dip for a single moment! There was literally never a quiet moment or a time where you could hear the literary crickets. I felt compelled to see this story through till its end and we were carried there with nips, bites and a whole lot of devils tango.

Katee continues to show and display through her works, just why she is one of THE authors to watch and read as a must-read author. Court of the Vampire Queen floored me in the best way possible and I honestly thought nothing could top my previous favourite novel of hers, Neon Gods. I'd say that they are on equal part with one another, but this novel edges out in front by the tip of a fang. I certainly wouldn't object to reading another novel set in this world if it means we're going to get more quality content such as this, I'll gladly sign up for more.

Thank you to Katee Robert for not only a must-read novel, but another book added to my top read of 2022. This read, like the others I've had the pleasure of reading (Neon Gods, Electric Idol & Wicked Beauty) has cemented me as a reader for life and a proud reader of all things sinfully delightful in our bookish world.

Five stars!

Actual rating 3.5

If you know Katee Robert you know she writes some sexy stuff and let me tell you this was steaming! Right from the start it’s just smut and it stays that way throughout. And it was some good reverse harem smut and had me thinking about these vampires when I wasn’t reading. The only downside to all the sex was the plot for me. While there was a plot it felt secondary to the sex. This led to some details and other things becoming repetitive. I did like the characters and they were hot, but again I feel like their actions and thoughts, especially Mina as it was her perspective became repetitive. But I did enjoy seeing them all together.

Overall this was an enjoyable and entertaining book! I would recommend if you want some heavy smut!

First off, thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review this title before publishing.

I should lead off by saying that this was both my first reverse harem book as well as my first booo by Katee Robert. I kind of wish it wasn’t both of these things, because I can certainly tell that there’s something about it that wasn’t for me.

I will say with certainty that Robert knows how to write good smut scenes for sure. That’s not what was missing here by any means. If I was rating this just beaded on that, it would have a higher star rating for sure.

I think what’s stopping me from having enjoyed me is both the nonexistent plot and continuity, as well as general lack of character & relationship building. I know that the fantasy and power plot here certainly wasn’t meant to be central, but there are really continuity issues and plot convenience left and right. I think I hoped for a fun steamy read mixed with a plot that grabbed me (even if 80% of the book really wasn’t plot). This story just felt messy and forced.

I also wanted to feel the love & care between the vampires & Mina a bit more. There were a lot of out of the blue moments where a relationship would be written as all of a sudden developed to a certain point and no trace of how it got there. This took me out of the story quite a bit.

I think I will plan to give Neon Gods a try, so I can better understand if it’s this author or simply some common traits of RH books that’s not working for me. This was certainly a steamy read, but the other problems I had made it hard for even that to feel like it was delivering.

A gripping story. It has been a while since I felt the utter need to keep reading to find out what happened next, but every word compelled me to keep going. Even when I was mad as hell at a character or disagreed with what was happening, I still couldn't stop reading.

This book was one that came across my screen and it sounded intriguing enough. I had never read anything by this author. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

There was very barely a plot to this book. When you begin reading, you are immediately met with a sex scene. There are only so many ways to describe intimacy and private parts, so the same phrases are used repeatedly. The book was split into three parts and details were repeated every time. However there seemed to be a lot missing, like about the father and other key details that are alluded to. The description of the book isn’t true - Malachi does not rule with an “iron fist.”

I did like the males in this book: Malachi, Wolf and Rhylan. I did believe their relationship and I especially liked the conclusion. I guess if what you mainly want to read about is the description of sex, then this is for you. The actual plot was just too lacking for my taste. I was hopeful for a Sarah J. Maas type story but that was not to be.

Having enjoyed other books by Katee Robert, this book was quite disappointing in comparison. The book is extremely sex heavy, which would not be a problem if it was not to the detriment of the plot and character development. None of the four main characters are very well explored or developed past their initial impressions, and when plot points finally happen they are rushed and resolved far too quickly. Mina is a very bland and stereotypical "special girl" protagonist, and there was nothing really interesting about her that would draw a reader in. The sheer amount of sex scenes also causes them to begin to blur together after a while and they become more of a slog to read than an exciting moment. Overall I would not recommend this to someone who enjoyed other works by Robert, as it would probably be a letdown after those.
