I’m taking away the half star because I was slightly unsatisfied with the way the whole story ended and because one of the characters I was growing attached to in the last two books was killed off (not going to say who obviously)
Otherwise I thought this was a fantastic finale to the whole series. There were a few times when I thought the story slowed down a bit and a few others where I was questioning the authors choices regarding Annie which also attributed to the loss of the half star because I loved Annie from the beginning and there were times I was insanely frustrated with her in the book.
I won’t say much more though because I really did enjoy this one and I don’t want to give anything away in the series!
I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.
All the stars. This series is masterfully woven. The pacing is superb, you are on the edge of your seat the entire time, every book gets better and better. The political intrigue, the longing, the dragons, the found family...everything is heart wrenchingly perfect. My stomach was in knots and I cried twice. I'm not a book crier. I will read everything @rosariamunda writes. Go read the Aurelian Cycle now. One of the best fantasy series ever written, no matter the age. I’m obsessed.
Not to be missed, this epic fantasy is filled political intrigue and corruption, forbidden romance, and a more than satisfying ending. Munda does a phenomenal job throughout the series of making her characters come to life which makes for a last book that includes both heartache and triumph. What an exciting conclusion to the Aurelian Cycle trilogy!
Back in the thrilling world of The Aurelian Cycle, with its heart-pounding action and fearsome dragons, the stakes are at an all-time high in this climatic conclusion as our dragon rider crew fights for their lives amongst the ripple effect of the rebel uprisings and revolution.
Every moment of this book was INTENSE. I was on the edge of my seat—catching my breath through all the twists, turns, shocks, and betrayals. I loved seeing our group of outsiders grow from the first book to the last. Lee and Annie each developed so much with their stories meticulously interwoven and grew individually as strong leaders. Their romance was the SWEETEST and so precious. The incredible build-up throughout the series was just perfection and made my heart melt!
This story is a mix of political ambition and hunger for power combined with the sparks of revolution and hope for freedom and reform. If you’re looking for a compelling, adventurous series with the vibes of House of the Dragon and The Hunger Games, definitely keep this series in mind!

THE FINAL BOOK! So, I read the first two books in this series a while ago and then promptly forgot everything about them before starting this one. Understandably, I was quite confused for the first quarter of the book. However, I do think this finale isn't much of a finale. I was quite disappointed by the slow moving plot and lack of further character development. In the first and second book of the series, I could not put them down after the halfway point. There is so much adventure and excitement, as well as a hefty amount of political turmoil in the first two books that this third one is lacking. This book was not my favorite, but I did enjoy getting a glimpse into the lives of the characters I love.
Thank you so, so much to Penguin Teen and NetGalley for sending me an eARC of this book in return for my honest review.
YOU GUYS. I read Fireborne...two years ago? I think? And I adored it, but was holding off on reading the second one until Furysong came out. So finally, the time came for me to read Flamefall and Furysong back to back, and I have zero regrets.
Honestly, I'd have been devastated if I'd read Flamefall and had to wait a whole year for book three to come out lol. But this review is purely about Furysong. What can I say about this book without spoiling it for you guys?
READ IT. Trust me. It will DEVASTATE you in the best ways possible. I laughed and I sobbed and I smiled like a lovesick idiot. This trilogy is probably one of the best, if not the best, YA fantasies I have ever read. Annie and Lee are just....sigh. Those poor babies go through so much and you really can't help but love them while being insanely frustrated with their life choices.
I can't say a lot, obviously, because if you haven't read the previous books everything in this is a spoiler so...just trust me. Five stars to everything in the series, and I'd read it all again with zero regrets.
Oh. My. Heart! I don't even have the words for this book! Absolutely brilliant ending to this trilogy. Intense, edge of your seat moments along with moments of pure bliss. I adore this trilogy so much! Everyone needs to read these books!

By far my most anticipated release of the year, and it didn’t disappoint! This series has blown me away from book one and the finale was painful, enraging, pure ecstasy, the triumph, every emotion you can think of. I will definitely revisit in the future to relive this series.
If you love dragons and you love political intrigue, psychos in charge, enemies to friends to lovers, revolution, war, this is the series for you. READ IT!!

Wow, that is how you end a series! Seriously, this is one of the strongest trilogies I've read in a long time- excellent political fantasy with dragons, drama, romance, intrigue, betrayal, and characters you care about. This was such a satisfying conclusion (even if it might break your heart along the way!) and the fact that this author is willing to let things be dark and painful when it makes sense for the story keeps the stakes feeling high. This is one of few YA fantasy series I would recommend to readers who don't typically read in this age category. It's smart, engaging, and has excellent world-building.
The only (slight) downside to this final volume is the pacing. It does slow down and meander a bit through the middle, but I was so riveted in the final 200 pages it kind of made up for it. This series deserves all the hype! Thank you so much to Penguin Teen for sending a copy my way. All opinions are my own.
Content warnings include torture, death, grief, violence.
This is a trilogy that gets better with each book, and this finale is definitely the best of the series. I read the first two books over a year ago, but as soon as I started this one, I was right back into the story, no recaps necessary, still in love with these characters.
Because that's really the heart of this trilogy—the characters. Yes, it has dragons and a fast-paced plot and conspiracies and treachery and battles and all the things I love in a YA fantasy book, but these characters are so rich and so well-written that it really makes these books stand out. And this third book was no exception; the author manages to balance four different POVs with skill and care, each of our main characters getting the attention and development they deserve, while even our minor characters, such as Power and Freyda, get compelling arcs and satisfying conclusions.
This book made me cry, it made me laugh, it made me feel all the feels, and it's one I'm going to want to reread in the future. Now that the series is complete, it'd be a great one to binge, especially if you love YA fantasy books. Highly recommend.
4.5 ⭐️ rounded up is my initial reaction. It was the saddest of the three books for me so far…which if you’ve read the first two you’ll know that means a lot. There is a mostly satisfying conclusion but there is one plot thread in particular that I didn’t understand the point of/felt totally unnecessary. And some aspects of the endings felt a tiny bit rushed, but overall this trilogy really is fantastic.
The final chapter in this series - furysong! I was so excited to read this and I was NOT disappointed by this phenomenally epic ending to this thrilling trilogy! The perfect way to end this series and it was absolutely stunning and heartbreaking.
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley! I picked this series up after reading the premise for the third one! And like anything, all great things come to an end :( what a bittersweet ending to a great fantasy trilogy. Can’t wait to reread!!

Why is this trilogy so good?! #Furysong by Rosaria Munda is everything I hoped for in a final installment... and so much more. Each book in this series is somehow even better than the last. I have become so invested in the lives of these characters, I'm so sad it's over. I'm not one to reread books but I can't imagine not revisiting this whole series again one day. The Aurelian Cycle trilogy has easily become one of my favorite series ever. It combines my favorite aspects from series like The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and His Dark Materials. And it deserves to go down in history with just as much appreciation and fervor as these series garner.
Munda's political theory studies shine brightly through this plotline, making the world feel so real. The characters are so fully developed with rich backstories affected by upbringing, classism, and attributes that highlight the good and the bad that all people have within them. Even characters that you may not love, you will many times grow to empathize with. The strength and importance of women is also an undertone throughout, and girllll, I am so here for it. I really hope we see more books from this author in the future as Munda will always be an instant buy author for me.
Disclaimer: I received an advanced reader copy from #PenguinTeen and #NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This final installment of The Aurelian Cycle was bittersweet. I was fully pulled back into this incredibly rich world, enjoying the tragedy and the glory woven into every page.
I found characters that I didn’t previously like very much become the ones I wanted to champion for in Furysong. And I love how the author didn’t pull any punches when it came to the amount of pain she allowed her characters to feel. It just made it all so worth it.
I absolutely loved this series so much and Furysong was an incredible piece of fantasy and such a great conclusion.
Wow! It's been a long while since I devoured a book in less than 12 hours, let alone an almost 500 page book. This was an absolute epic ending to this trilogy. Every book continued to get more in depth and more fast paced. This story was a rollercoaster of emotions; heart-break, rage, laughing, and cheering. I grew so fond of these characters and wish everyone could have had a happy ending. This was one of the best trilogies I've read in a while and definitely an author to keep your eye on.

Content warnings: death, blood, torture
This book is…a lot, but in such a good way. I wasn’t really sure how Munda would wrap everything up; however I find myself quite satisfied with this ending, which can be rather rare with trilogies, especially with ones I enjoyed so immensely.
I loved this series ever since I finished Fireborne as an ARC all those years ago. I loved how the author draw on ancient Greece and Rome, loved the mythical dragons, and the contrast between the two main characters, Lee and Annie. As the series progressed more POVs were introduced and while that can sometimes bog down the story, I thought Munda did a great job because I felt like she really chose those new POVs for a reason, especially in this last book. There were so many times I was afraid--for everyone--but I really think we got the ending we deserved and the ones the characters needed so desperately even when we were so desperate for them to have something good.
But were there moments in this book that broke my heart? Yes. Did I cry? Oh boy, did I, and it's something else for a book to make me a cry.
I'm glad Annie and Lee had their moments together, for things to be as normal as they could be during the circumstances. There was this real awakening within Lee as he fought with the memories of his childhood to what is happening now, that he realized what bad things his father did weren't necessarily outweighed by the loving, caring father that he remembers. It's an interesting contrast to Annie, who had both loving and caring parents but can't really remember much and a lot of it is overshadowed by what the dragonlords did to her family. Annie and Lee really pushed each other to be the best version of themselves and that's what I appreciate about them; in the end they knew what they had to do and there were so many moments of fear, shame, and self-doubt but inevitably, they both knew it had to be that way in order for their plans to work.
We still have Griff's POV but we also have a new one, Delo. I wasn't sure what to make of Delo's POV at first but it eventually became vital as we're given an aspect of this revolution and overtaking of Callipolis in another, different light.
As for Freyda... Well, I wasn't sure what to make of her when we met her in Flamefall, but what we learn about her in this book really makes me glad she stuck it to the man, if you know what I mean. It made me think that the events involving her in the previous book was a facade because she, too, wanted to prove herself. In ways we see that she is smart and she knows she can do good and be a good ruler, but there were people underestimating her. In a sense, there are some similarities between Freyda and Annie and to be honest I really think Freyda was rooting for Annie in the end.
Count this series as one that I will always recommend. It's been such a wild ride but I loved every minute of it.
"Sing me now your fury-song"
Furysong is the epic conclusion to The Aurelian Cycle trilogy. It is full of thrilling action, amazing character growth, heartbreak, and justice. Readers get POVs from Annie, Lee, Griff, and Delo as they are all dealing with the fallout from the last book and move forward in the new revolution. Rosaria Munda has perfectly weaved a fantasy world full of dragons and politics. Furysong starts out action-packed from the very first chapter and leaves your heart racing until the very last page.
Readers will be delighted to get more of Griff and Delo in this book and to see their relationship develop. They both have so much to work through and face many challenges in this book.
Annie and Lee. I do not even know where to start with them. I have loved these two characters from the very first book. Their bond is absolutely beautiful and I wish I could say more about these two but I am afraid to spoil too much. I will say that Annie is a complete queen and is one of the best-written female characters I have read in a while.
Furysong broke my heart in the best way possible. It has been a while since a book has made me cry so much but I would not change anything about this book. One of the best YA fantasy series in my opinion and I am so sad to say goodbye to this world and characters.
This final installment had the best possible ending to the series! It was bittersweet and I loved every minute of the book. The whole story really wrapped up well, and everything that happened made sense. I cried, I was happy, I was sad, I was mad... I felt ALL of the possible emotions while reading this book!
