Desafiador, envolvente, cheio de suspense do início ao fim.

Pra quem curte o gênero vai se pegar imerso nessa história e quando perceber... Amanheceu.

Always a good fast paced journey with DS Karen Hart. Not as enthralling as previous outings but I would certainly recommend the entire series and look forward to the next adventure.

Book 6 in the DS Karen Hart series. I have enjoyed some of the others in the series but this one I found lacking in a good gripping plot. Didn’t really hold my attention, it did have the premise of being a good read but fell short .

I was on the edge through this whole book, I thought I’d have it figured out and then didn’t and it surprised me at the end!

Brilliant book again from this author, turning pages well into the evening. The ending was a cracker and throughout you were guessing and double guessing the twist!!! Great beach read

This is another excellent book in the Detective Karen Hart Series. A woman is abducted from a street, an incident which is witnessed by a young child. As this child has a reputation for telling tales people are not sure whether to believe her or not. However Karen is convinced that what the young girl is saying is true, even if those around her don’t believe the child.

From this beginning a good murder mystery is developed, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Amongst this murder mystery we then have an American consultant and his entourage thrown into the mix. This really did make for another good pacy murder mystery with the usual great characters and plotting, which these books are usually known for. As usual there are some good surprises at the end of the book.

If you like good quality murder mystery books I really do recommend this book, and the excellent series this is part of. I look forward to continuing the series with the next book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4,5 Sterne

I've previously enjoyed other books of the Karen-Hart-series, and this didn't disappoint me either. It starts simple enough, but develops into a very tricky case for DS Karen Hart and her colleagues. Where should you start looking for the missing woman without any clues and any motive? And soon there are two women missing - but who is this second woman? Questions like that kept me reading and reading...

Since the book is told from the perspective of the police detectives, it is not a "thriller" and not really nerve-wracking. The reader never follows the perpetrator first-hand. But still, my curiosity how the whole thing will play out was definitely high and so I really enjoyed this crime novel.

This is book 6 of the Karen Hart series. When a young child sees a woman being abducted and bundled into a van, nobody is sure if this really happened. The young girl is known for telling lies. Detective Karen Hart feels that the young girl is telling the truth, maybe this is because she reminds her of her own daughter that she is still grieving for.

This book was fantastic, also works well as a stand alone as I have not read the other books, however I am now invested in Karen Hart and will be reading the others.

A five year old isn’t a reliable witness but what if she’s the only one? Children see more than we think, they just can’t express it in a way we can understand as adults. We forget how to think like a child therefore we ignore what we perceive as stories when they really could be telling us something very important.

This story is compelling and a great read.

I've reviewed previous books in the series and thought this book was good too. I've enjoyed the development of the characters and enjoy the plot developments.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

I am a HUGE D.S. Butler fan I have enjoyed all of her books so far and this one does not disappoint. DS Karen Hart is drawn into a child's story about a lady being abducted. No one believes the child but for some reason DS Hart believes the child's story.and searches the abduction site only to find a playing card in the sewer.they aren't sure it's a clue until another woman is missing and another card is found.

This book was fast paced and engaging and the characters come to life on the page. I enjoyed the book and it did something nothing other thrillers do it surprised me. I read so many thrillers I find it is hard to find plots that are new and intriguing.

I have a few favourite series, and this is most definitely one of them!
The stories are well written, flow fabulously and have great characters.
I really enjoyed the interaction between Karen and her young witness, so heartwarming.
Cannot wait for the next instalment

This is book 6 in the Karen Hart series but because it is the first after the police corruption story has finally concluded, it can easily be read as a standalone. In this book Katen not only has to trust her gut instinct, she has to convince her team including DCI Churchill, with whom she has never seen eye to eye. This was an exciting missing persons case that contained some major plot twists including a massive shock when eventually a body is discovered. I love this series, the dynamic of Karen's team works so well together. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Detective Karen Blackwell has a new case. This was a cleverly crafted plot and a compelling police procedural. Very well written.
Many thanks to Amazon Publishing UK and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed reading this suspenseful story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. This is a well written story where the author used their writing skills as well as attention to details that made the story come to life on each page. This is a well written story that is not only hard to put down but engaging as well. The characters are connectable and added a lot to the story. I enjoyed how they were able to pull me into the story from the start. They truly made this story for me. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seating just waiting to see what would happen next. There is great growth with the characters as well as the plot which made it an easy story to read. I highly recommend this book.

Would you investigate a possible abduction, all based on the eye witness testimony of a child?
This is what the police and DS Karen Hart have to try figure out - did the child imagine it or did she witness it, even though no one has filed a missing person report?
A great read with quite a few twists and turns that leave the reader guessing and trying to solve the puzzle. From what I understand whilst reading this book, is that is possibly the second book in a series with DS Hart, as there were bits of the story that hinted at a previous book, but this didn't spoil the gist of the story or make the book unreadable.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.
