Julie attends a neighbors party without husband, Owen. She blacks out and is raped by someone at the party. With no memory of it she decides not to tell her husband. But weeks later when she finds out she's pregnant she has no choice but to.
We're in the now after the baby is born, so there's no mystery of whether or not she has an abortion, which was something that was considered. The then is after the rape as they try to figure out who did this to her. The police become involved, but it's over a month later, so what they can do it slightly limited.
Overall, this was a straight mystery suspense, with no thrills, and really slow moving. While the rapist was quite obvious to me I was pleasantly surprised by the final twist, so whoop whoop for that, and why I rounded up.

✨Psychologicall Thriller
✨ What the hell happen!??
✨ Surprises
✨ I am shocked how this is a debut book. Meghan actually knows how to kept her readers want more and yep I want more.
This story has a lot of drama, incredibly long for a start but it was worth every turning page.
✨ Julie was an incredible woman in this story. Hiding the fact that she is already confused on what happen to her but the burden of secrets still lingers to her after all those years is insane.
✨ I love it but… in a predictable ending which lost a one star. It’s great but it’s just common ending 🫣 it wasn’t to thriller per se but more into family drama.
✨ Thankyou netgalley for the opportunity to read this book for a honest review.

This novel has a strong start, but overall, I found the main character a bit lacking. Considering the circumstances, she should havehad all of my empathy (and I have plenty to go around!), but for me, she came off a bit distant, like she was plodding through the situation, but not feeling it. Maybe this was intentional, but for me it resulted in a lack of connection. I will say, the conclusion twist was a shock that I did not see coming, but it also felt a bit rushed. Maybe the reader was meant to feel as she did with the realization of the truth...a bit confused and definitely stunned. For all of that, I did like how it wrapped up! Thank you NetGalley and publishers for providing a digital ARC for review.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of Night, Forgotten. I wanted to like the plot and premise of the book but ultimately couldn’t and was disappointed by the ending. Some of the points throughout struck me as unrealistic such as a 29-year-old modern woman not knowing what a rape kit was or other basic knowledge.
I would like to take a minute to introduce, the one, the only, Ms. Meghan Joyce Tozer.
I don't, know where you came from but I am so thankful to have found you!
Buckle your seatbelt folks, Tozer is about to put you on a ride of a life time.
Night, Forgotten, is one heck of a psychological thriller that will have your pulse racing, breath held and heart in your throat? Does that make sense? I don't know, but this book had me in tizzy and that stutter of mine is a result of the wild conclusion I just read.
Night, Forgotten is a must read and it was an honor to read and review this showstopper!
Check out this teaser :
A dramatic and undeniably addictive psychological thriller about a young woman whose life changes in an instant, and nothing is ever the same.
Before . . .
Life is idyllic for Julie Porter and her husband Owen. They’ve bought their dream house in the Berkshires; their careers are on the upswing; and they have the world at their fingertips. They’ve never been so in love. They’ve never been happier. The only thing that’s missing is a baby--but Julie’s got a plan, and they’re right on schedule.
Until Owen falls ill with food poisoning, leaving Julie to attend a neighborhood holiday party alone. When she wakes up, half-naked in her neighbor’s bathtub, Julie doesn’t know how to tell Owen, the police, her friends--anyone--that she has been sexually assaulted. So she keeps it secret until she realizes that she’s pregnant with her assailant’s baby.
After . . .
Life is unmanageable for Julie. She can’t function in the world with a newborn, and she’s unable to be present for her husband, her family, her friends. Desperate to solve the mystery of what happened to her, Julie’s driven to more and more erratic behaviour, until the truth about that night is revealed. Afterward, no one will be the same ever again. Not Owen. Not the baby. And especially not Julie.
Life is going great for Julie and Owen the only thing missing is a child of there own. What Julie does to achieve her dream of having a child had my jaw dropping.
Some of this can be uncomfortable to read due to the nature of the content. There was a lot of suspense and action in this book. It can be dark, but it hooks you and makes you want to keep reading.

The scenario of sexual assault aside, this was such a great book. Once I started it I couldn't put it down and the ending was definitely a shock. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

Night, Forgotten

⭐️⭐️⭐️/3.5 stars
Okaaaaaayyyyy. I truly did not see that ending coming. That was definitely a huge twist! I do feel all of a sudden too many things happened right at the very end. It maybe could have been spread out a little more but it was overall pretty good!
Julie Dolan and her husband, Owen, are living a happily married life in the Bershires. Everything seems to be going according to plans. The only thing they aren't agreeing on is the timing for when to start their family but it's nothing that won't work itself out.
One evening, Julie attends a holiday party next door at the Dolan's, alone, as Owen is down with food poisoning. Julie remembers the first couple of hours of the party but after that, total blackout. She comes to, in the Dolan bathtub, with Marcus Dolan watching over her. He can't tell her exactly what happened other than he found her out in their backyard in the early morning hours.
Julie just knows something terrible has happened. She's been sexually assaulted, but by who? Then she finds out she's pregnant. From the rape. How will Owen and her get through this without losing their marriage?
I can't even begin to imagine how horrible this situation would be. How would you ever be able to heal from this trauma and possibly a constant reminder in having the baby? Definitely a thought-provoking topic! Good read!

Thank you to @netgalley and @wbywattpad for this gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was a pretty decent debut. Julie and Owen have a great life and are trying to have a baby. Julie is apparently assaulted at a neighborhood party with no memory of what happened. She soon finds out that she is pregnant. Julie is unable to cope until she figures out what happened. This kept me turning pages and the twist was supreme. My only issue was character development. Most were cookie-cutter people, though Julie was well developed, and I really liked her.
Curious to see what else this author comes up with!
Thank you to #NetGalley, Meghan Joyce Tozer and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
This started off strong but quickly fizzled. The author does write well so I’ll give her that. I found some of the characters a bit shallow and hallow. The twist was surprising.
I could not finish this book.
It contains subjects that are triggers for me.
I believe it would be very well written but I just can't.
Thank you #NetGalley for this ARC.

This fell flat for me, it was just an okay read, I had seen this posted a few times with other reviews and wanted to form my own opinions. It was pretty easy to figure out the plot early on, which is always a bummer . This book had potential to be a great read but needed more depth and needed to have been less predictable. 2.5 stars from me! I wanted to love it.
Julie and Owen are a young married couple living a wonderful life. They both have great jobs and are fixing up their dream home. One fateful night Julie attends their neighbor's party alone. Owen stays home after being overcome with food poisoning. At the end of the night Julie wakes up half naked on her neighbor's bathtub. She is scratched and bruised and doesn't know how to tell anyone she has been assaulted, not the police, her friends or Owen. Six weeks later she realizes she is pregnant with her assailant's baby. Julie becomes desperate to piece together clues to help her solve the mystery of what happened on that fateful night.
This is a tough review. The plot and twist were amazing. I devoured the book in one sitting. What fell short for me was the character development. Julie's character is well written, and you connect with her. The rest of the characters felt flat and one dimensional to me. Owen was inconsistent and all of the other characters were mediocre and could have been better.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book.
TW: Sexual assault, rape, mention of abortion.
Night, Forgotten left me speechless. It's a suspenseful, psychological thriller that I finished in one sitting.
Julie and her husband Owen have the ideal life. They are invited to a party at their neighbor's house that ends up changing their lives forever. Owen ends up staying home because he feels ill and Julie attends by herself. She is having a fun time and then it fast forwards to the night. Her neighbor's husband finds her in the backyard half-naked. It is apparent that she has been sexually assaulted but it terrifies her even more that she has no recollection of what happened.
She didn't plan on telling her husband so soon but found out she is pregnant. It brings about so much change and begs the question of whether they can go through with the pregnancy.
I'm so impressed by this author's writing. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I never saw the ending coming.
Thank you Netgalley, Wattpad books and Megan Joyce Tozer for the ARC of this book.
Wow wow wow. This was a super quick read in one sitting and it had such a crazy twist I was sitting there with my jaw dropping.
The plot was cleverly written and advice and it was such a gripping psychological thriller.
I have whiplash from the twist in this book! Wow!
This was the perfect page turning thriller. I was so invested in the story and felt like I was with walking with Julie through all her emotions and memories. Please look up trigger warnings for this one but if you love thrillers that unfolds slowly but leaves you speechless you will love this one!
Thank you Netgalley for this arc!
This is an intricate psychological thriller. I even read it two times in order to get its full effect and was still shocked at the twist near the end.
Julie Porter and her husband Owen, bought their dream house in the Berkshires. They both have fun careers that are on the move. It seems they have the whole world at their fingertips and their love and happiness abounds. The thing to perfect their scenario is a baby. Yes, they have a plan for that. But somehow life gets in the way of plans.
One evening Owen falls ill with food poisoning after eating “the practice lasagna.”This leaves Julie to attend a neighborhood holiday party alone. She walks over to the neighboring house and joins in the merriment with drinks. When she wakes up many hours later, she finds herself naked from her waist down in her neighbor’s bathtub. The story is Marcus found her passed out outside on the ground, where she had been assaulted and raped. He brought her inside to warm and clean up. Julie’s only memory of the evening is having a drink.
What is she going to tell her husband, Owen? Should she go to the police? She decides for now to keep it secret until she realizes that she’s pregnant with her assailant’s baby.
She decides to not abort the child and Thomas is born three months early.
Now, Julie can’t seem function in the world with a newborn, and she’s unable to be there for her husband, her family, and her friends. Desperate to solve the mystery of what happened to her, Julie’s driven to more and more irrational behaviour, until the truth of the events of the fateful night are revealed.
The idyllic life the couple once had is forever changed.
I highly recommend this excellent book.
Night, Forgotten was a ride. Extremely twisty, heartbreaking and shocking at times, this book does a really good job of making you feel what Julia does. It’s not an easy read because of what Julia experienced but the ending made it all worth it. My heart was pounding and I had to go back and re-read parts that I was so surprised by. This is for you if you need a psychological thriller to scare the heck out of you.
