I love organizing and cleaning out, but I don’t typically love organizing books or shows. Sure, just skimming them will motivate me to start cleaning, but I always feel there’s nothing in there that most people don’t already know. The Clutter Fix is the exception! I was truly impressed by the tips and step-by-step instructions. This book is incredibly detailed! There were so many suggestions and I took away so much from Shannon that I wouldn’t have thought on my own. I already ordered some organizers from Amazon halfway through reading and I can’t wait to get started. This is a book you can definitely read at your own pace and go back to year after year.
This was such a calm and refreshing read on a stressful topic. There weren’t any new or mind-blowing revelations, but Shannon breaks down her process in an easy and encouraging way. I like her breakdown of clutter personalities and organizing personalities. I didn’t tackle any decluttering while reading, but I am excited to dive in with a better plan now.
I received this ARC free from NetGalley.
Clutter. We all need help with it. I’m excited to use this book to help with our home full of 6 people! I love her approach!
I was quite surprised by this book. Like everyone I have read a few of these decluttering books and done nothing at all to tackle the mess. This one was different ,....... I actually was so inspired (it all sounded so easy ) that I actually started...and kept going. More like a friend giving you a hand than giving you a telling off.
Another addition to the clutter tackling reading list…The Clutter Fix by Shannon Acheson. While the advice was not new to me, I did find it helpful for outline some steps to take to tackle the clutter problem in my house (we have Warhammer items in five different rooms…it is taking over!). The most organized room in my house is my kitchen and that is because I use zones just as the author recommends. However, I don’t really have zones in the rest of my house. It makes sense to. What I found most helpful was the outline of a 10 day declutter challenge. I think I might create my own challenge to tackle the house. While the author is religious, she acknowledges that scripture might not be for everyone, but that is who she is, so it is present in her writing. However, also present are bits from psychology experts on why we have clutter and why it is so hard to get away from. There is also advice from experts on habits and routines. I have been reading a lot about routines lately. Dana K White from A Slob Comes Clean is one of my favorite decluttering experts and her work is referenced frequently. So I have already started to utilize some of her tips, but it was nice to read about how others are using them. Still working on getting that laundry fountain, but, hey, the kitchen sink is empty! #NetGalley #sept2022
There is many decluttering books out there. Everyone is claim the best and offer new things. Actually I not make any expectations for this one until I found a very unique and friendly voice from this book to start another fun decluttering way.
What make this book standout from different book in same theme? This book not offer only pretty stock picture but real steps, timing and example stuff we can do. I love listing and checklist and this book give me alot ideas. Some of the type hoarder and how to help them get rid stuff make me chuckles and smile with self recognition too. A fast and inspiring book to one step to a lighter life.
