I mean a hot firefighter protecting the city and me?? Yes please. Felicity stole my heart. Made me a little misty eyed a few times but Firefighter Noah swoops in and treats her the way she should be. Even with all her insecurities and past pain, I absolutely loved seeing their relationship blossom. And when I say blossom….phew, it was intense and steamy. That’s putting it lightly.

Hi! It's me, the person who starts a series in the middle. I was in no way lost, but really wish I had time (and money) to go back and read the beginning of this series.

Noah and Felicity are hot together and have amazing chemistry. I loved it.

This is my first book in the series but that didn't negatively impact my reading experience at all! This is a really great example of a romance series that can be read as a standalone. Whilst I got the feeling references to previous books were being made, it didn't detract from the story for me as a newcomer to the series.

I loved our two MCs in this book. They had such great, easy chemistry and balanced each other out really well. I loved seeing Felicity grow in her self confidence, and Noah learn to put himself first more. Their progressions both individually and as a couple felt very natural and I was really invested in them. And of course the sex scenes were excellent! I loved the balance of pleasure for both characters (no one sided scenes) and how they felt realistic but hot.

Yes, after Levi, it is now Noah who bites the dust. Although all of Tara’s books of the Prescott series can be perfectly read as standalone, they are just so much more fun to read as a total.

Whereas Levi had been pining after Madison for quite some time, Noah doesn’t have time for relationships. His work in the fire department is enough to keep him warm. Until he meets Felicity at a bachelor auction. Felicity has lost a lot of her confidence and her trust in men after her painful divorce. So dating is not very high on her priority list. Until her friends score her a date with a hot firefighter in a bachelor auction.

Noah is sweet, kind and considerate. He offers to help Felicity out with practice dates to get her back in the saddle.

But practice dates morph into practice kisses. Which leads to more.- practice. As per usual, Tara’s stories are cute, funny and hot. Same goes for Burning Up. Because maybe, Noah had an ulterior motive for all those practices… Find out for yourself in this great read! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Net galley for providing the arc. And hopefully Hudson is next!

I received this book as an ARC. I really enjoyed this book. I mean hunky firefighter that likes to talk dirty….damn! I loved how the 2 main characters both had issues and together they found a way to heal themselves. This book kept my interest the entire time, couldn't put it down! It was sweet and sexy all rolled in together. Loved this book!

Felicity's struggles with her self-confidence are no match for Noah's sexy (occasionally foul-mouthed) determination. Their attraction is instant but not one they expected to go anywhere. Until they are thrown together at a bachelor auction. It's adorable the way they try to convince themselves that things aren't going to go the way we all know they will :)

Burning Up is sweet, sizzling, and low angst, with an adorable meet-cute and a conflict that's telegraphed pretty much for the start. Which isn't necessarily bad, it definitely helped make for an easy-read with a satisfying HEA.

This is the story of Felicity and Noah, as she learns to trust a new relationship after her divorce and he tries to keep his distance but also keep her close, knowing what an extraordinary chemistry they have.

My first Prescott book and I loved it. Noah and Felicity are perfect, even if Noah is bogged down with guilt. They both have things to work through to get their HEA. Can't wait to read other books in this series.

A really lovely love story between a very hot firefighter and shy Felicity. A story about how to practice and prepare Felicity to date again goes very wrong when they both developed deeper feelings- A Sweet story that ends with HEA.

Very spicy, love after divorce book. I really enjoyed this book. It delivered exactly what I was hoping. I can't wait to read more from this author!

I’ve read a couple other Tara Wyatt books from her Bodygaurd series so was looking forward to this one. I liked the plot description a lot and was hoping for another fun read!
To be honest I was not blown away by it. I couldn’t get into the characters. From the start they were just a little dry for me. I felt no relation to them. Perhaps because in the beginning when Felicity gets stuck in an elevator she’s just so calm! I could truly never respond in the blasé way she did!
I enjoyed the humorous scenes with friends.
Noah and Felicity’s date was awkward. There was also definitely some insta lust/love going on. I thought it was nice that they both had these service oriented jobs, trying to help others (firefighter & teacher). They both probably require a lot of passion and dedication, as well as care for others. I think that was shown nicely.
To be honest though I didn’t get very into the plot here or the writing. I guess there wasn’t a really captivating storyline. The opening drama of the elevator was very brief, and then they go on a nice date, and it just doesn’t set up for a big conflict at the start. It didn’t get me very invested in either character.

Very good, Felicity, a teacher, meets Noah, a hunky fireman when he rescues her from a stuck elevator. In a series of coincidences, they meet again, and start a steamy romance. There are difficulties, as Noah is carrying a lot of guilt and doesn't feel he deserves to be happy, and Felicity is a divorcee who worries that she is bad in bed. Noah's family are great. Excellent sex scenes.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Felicity and Noah. Felicity is a teacher and. Noah is firefighter. They meet when a elevator is stuck at the school where Felicity teaches and she is stuck on it. Noah is the firefighter who gets her out. The next day she goes to a charity auction and Noah is one of the bachelors. She wins a date. There is an instant attraction.. the each have their issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

Burning Up is the sixth book in The Prescotts series by Tara Wyatt. The books do not need to be read in order, and each can stand well on its own. Returning readers will have some advantage with understanding some of the characters and their motivations and connections but the lack will not ruin the read for newcomers.

Burning Up is a fun and engaging read that has a good mix of heat and heart. Felicity and Noah each have hang ups and issues they need to work through. I loved seeing the honesty and communication as they admited to themselves, and each other, how they felt and how they thought they could move forward at aech stage of the relationship. I also loved the support system that they each had, and how they each looked perfect from the outside, but bshowed their vulnerablity to those that mattered to them. I did think that there were moment when one or the other strayed to far into 'too good to be true' territory, but generally normal insecurities or their personal traumas would reign them back in. I think fans of the series andt he author will love this read, and other contemporary romance fans will enjoy it as well.

I did not like this book. I love the concept and the initial beginning of the book but wow did it nose dive after that. The sex scenes were less hot and more concerning for me. It completely turned me off the book. I would not waste your time with this book. It’s a skipper for sure.

Very disappointing...

I really loved how the book began, the chemistry between Noah and Felicity, the richness and depth of the characters, the premise of going on practice dates, the emotional damage both were dealing with and were hopefully going to heal by being in a relationship together... It was so promising!

And then came the sex scene... *sigh* I'd seen it coming because of Noah's hints at tying knots, liking control etc, but the way they both acted during the sex scenes felt like different characters to me. And Noah going caveman and not being able to say "I" frustrated me to no end, and I know it's small, but it rubbed me wrong.

Anyway, from the sex scene on, things went downhill. It felt rushed all of a sudden and also became very predictable. So 2 disappointed stars.

I think what could've made it better is if the dom-sub aspect would've been left out, because that wasn't fleshed out enough. And if Noah would've still been able to say "I need", even when in lust.

This is Noah and Felicity’s story and whilst being part of a series can be read as a stand-alone. I would have liked more depth to the tale but it’s a quick easy read.

Who doesn't love a fireman? Noah has followed in his father's footsteps and loves his job as a firefighter. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much else in his life, being scared to commit to anyone. His father died during 9/11 and Noah has never really come to terms with the loss, blaming himself and trying his hardest to make up for the loss by dedicating himself to everyone else, but not taking time for himself. When he meets school teacher Felicity, he suddenly wants more.
I loved Noah and Felicity together, they are both giving characters who put themselves out for everyone else. They are both the kind of caring people that the other deserves and they have great chemistry. As a couple; they just work.
I've read a few books in this Prescott series now. Each one is very different, but that is far from being a bad thing. I loved this latest instalment and am looking forward to the last book.

Imagine you had a jar of trail mix and each time you reached into the jar to get something to eat, you end up picking up chocolate chips.
Every. Single. Time.
At first you're like, oh cool, I love chocolate chips. But after the second or third handful, it's too much, too decadent, and what felt like a blessing ends up feeling not so great.

That's how this book felt.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely enjoyed the majority of this book, you get all the beloved fluff of a romance. The set up is a tried and true one, the meetcute/instalove is great if you're in the mood for it, both characters have a solid friend group/support system, and the mmc is into control and praising the fmc in the bedroom...lots of praising. *heart eyes*

But while the book is very forthcoming on those fronts, I found it lacking some conflict that would've taken this from hallmark movie to a well rounded romance. I hoped for a "look at how much better I'm doing without you" scene for Felicity with her ex, or a development in Felicity's confidence as an individual, or more overall angst to really drive this story home. Also, I felt that the resolution happened way too quickly and the ending was very abrupt and came out of nowhere.

Overall, if you're just looking for a low angst romance with some spice, I highly recommend this book! It's *surprisingly* my first firefighter romance, and I'm really interested in reading more. This is also my first book by this author, and while I can tell she gives a brief update on other characters from her other books, I appreciate that you could actually read this book as a standalone!
