This gem of a book is the perfect guide to help you declutter and organize your home. You will find information on all kinds of topics: why organizing our homes can change our outlook on life, how to declutter all our rooms, one after another, how to organize closets and dressers, how to address family decluttering, mental clutter, how to manage our expectations, and so much more! This book is comprehensive, and gorgeous (with fabulous pictures and beautiful colors). The author added several very helpful sections: worksheets that you can fill in as you study your needs, references, and further resources. Thank you so much for such an informative and easy step-by-step guide to follow!

Jessica Litman has put everything in this book that you could possibly need to get your home in order. Jessica has thought of every last detail. This is a book you add to a beautiful stack and leave out on a coffee table or in a place you can quickly grab it and continue to reference it over the years. I love that I can open up and read about the specific area I choose to tidy and organize each time I start a new project. I loved it!
This book is a keeper.

Thank you Netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest oppinion.

Granted, I read a lot of organizing books, but I didn't really get anything at all out of this one. Ironically, the whole thing felt cluttered to me. It's full of stock photos, but they generally have very little to do with the advice. For instance, she is a big fan of labels and she talks about all the different kinds you can have but the only photos are stock photos of jars with hand drawn chalk labels on them. She lists like 6 different ways you can label things and goes on and on about how much she likes label makers, but there are no photos of the labels she says are best. It's just that sort of thing again and again, like listening to someone ramble on about a subject they love while someone else searches Shutterstock and finds glossy photos to fill up the pages. There is a lot of visual clutter here too -- little happy blurbs with colorful cursive promising tips and stuff like that. But it just felt like a giant run-on sentence of commonsense stuff. I also really like things like lists and plans and big bullet points of important things to remember but this is mostly just talk and talk and talk. It's just rambling with photos of spaces that look like parts of prop houses and too many words for me. I did like the little journal bit at the end if you get the paperback copy but there's not much of it. There are also a couple of pages of bullet journal pages but they're only for kids.

Two stars for me -- it was okay. Perhaps check it out of the library and see if it's a good fit for you.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

I'm the kind of person who needs lots of brightly colored pictures of organized spaces in order to get excited about organizing - and that's exactly what this book provides! The layouts are beautiful, essentially magazine style, with lots of little insets that make it easy to digest all the information in pieces. It even has a section on what to do if the people you live with don't have the same "need" for organization as you do, ha. I also appreciated the section on "mental" clutter, which we don't often think of in an organization book but is so important. Okay, I'm off to go by bins and a label maker!

I really love the layout of this book! The amount of images is just right and the little "doodles" are so cute! The way its written is very friendly and conversational which i enjoyed. I like the little pro tip pops of colour and found the tips themselves nice little highlights. And more importantly i found the decluttering tips super helpful :)

Ok, so I found it hard to figure out I am afraid. Like... disorganised. I know, I know :D Can not help it. Just was not helpful for me. I did like the colours and the themes, though!

Unfortunately I was unable to open this book. It says the content was issued by an expired license. Such a bummer! I’ll select five stars though since it looks like a good read I don’t want the rating to lower on here.

I loved this book! It was so clear and gave a lot of good advice and tips on how to have a more organised home. I felt it was realistic too; it understood the pressures of a busy family life and it broke a huge mammoth task into manageable steps! The photos were inspirational and it was clearly structured. I loved the top tips and checklists. This made me want to start decluttering today!

I love the breakdown of the topic areas of this book and the creative way the contents were displayed in the introduction.

The author briefly discussed having good habits as a way to keeping your space organized and ways to help decluttering your space before you start organizing. She also looked at ways to best organize different age categories from very young children to teenagers, and how to get the whole family involved in keeping spaces organized. There’s good discussion on how to declutter and whether or not to use bins in your organizing projects. She also discusses the importance of using labels in keeping things where they should be.

Moving forward in the book, she goes through how to organize certain rooms in the house and the best ways to do this. Throughout the sections, there are pro tips in each of the room areas to help move through the process of sorting, decluttering and organizing. The photos in the book and the colour scheme are beautiful and very pleasing to look at. Besides the room descriptions, the author goes through ways to sort and organize different problem areas that each house would have, for example, paper clutter, holiday decor or special family items. There are work sheets in the back of the book to for families to use to facilitate the entire process.

Overall, this book is a beautiful resource for anybody who loves to organize or anyone who needs to organize. I would definitely recommend Home Sweet Organized Home by Jessica Litman and rate it 4.5 ⭐️

At the moment Im not feeling to good with medical problems and I spend a lot of time Thérèse…….I did only the room not even my clothes and got rid of a lot of stuff, even my clutterdrawer was finaly organize. Now I can relax and heal with peace and rest!

This was a great book with ideas of what you could do to organize your home. Any room in the house with some conscientious ideas of what organized means to you.

What did I like? The book had some great ideas if you have lots of space. Some of the items are completely doable if your willing to declutter your home. I’m maxed on space so I was hoping for more ideas on that. Still the book works on great flow ideas for items and buying bins to help sort items.

Would I recommend or buy? This has great organized information for toddlers to adults. Everyone in the house needs to have there own expectations. Great ideas with bins and space. Four stars.

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review.

This book is a must for those of us who feel the chaos in our homes, recognising that sometimes (probably most of the times), bigger emotional factors come in to play.

Utilising practical strategies to declutter and organise our homes, advice is also given to help with motivation and getting in the right headspace to organise our homes.

I went into this book looking for solutions for the kitchen - Tupperware and junk drawer! Delighted to have solutions and inspiration, and am feeling motivated to tackle these - my personal thanks to the author for this (consider that junk drawer gone!)

I loved that each room in the house is considered in a separate section.

Im pretty sure there is something everyone can benefit from in this book.

On the basis of all of the above, in addition to being aesthetically pleasing, this is most definitely a book I recommend for purchase.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

This seems to be more of a minimalist decorating book, I can’t say I got much out of it but I was looking for organizing techniques not decorating.

Are there a lot of books on organizing? Yes. But 'Home Sweet Organized Home' by Jessica Litman is one of my favorites.

I knew when I opened it and her table of contents was I mimicking labels as we do when we organize I was going to love this book. The format, of course very organized :), was beautifully done. It has its bits and quick reading pieces but what made this book stand out was not just the colors, great photographs, and categories to keep it from being monotonous but the reality topics she brings up as why it's challenging to stay organized. Such as the category she included living with a disorganized person, the reluctant organizer, and to stay organized we have to change habits but she addresses what is the reality of this happening when it is essential and if that isn't going to happen how to begin a habit tracker.

There are pro tips. bullet boxes tips and great topics in the table of contents such as Mental Clutter, Age-Based Organizing, Letting Go of Overwhelming, and Cherish Items. All of it dispersed with not an overwhelming amount to read, just getting to it with encouragement, cheerleading dispersed with enough photos to get help get someone inspired. The whole book is inspiring with its beautiful cheeriness and ending with fantastically prepared worksheets.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher Quarto Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review Home Sweet Organized Home.

This book is only available in hardcover, and there is a good reason for that. I was given a digital format to read on my phone, and what a pain it was to have to zoom in and out and move the paragraphs around. This book, from what I've gleaned from it having to read it that way, is that this is a beautiful, colorful edition that would make a nice coffee table book. It's the kind you would pick up and glance through for a chapter or two, maybe follow the instructions on how to organize that area of your home and not feel you have to do it every day. You would probably get stressed out if you took on too much at once. Every page has a colorful box labeled Pro Tip and it is a condensation of what is being discussed on the page in about one sentence. I like this idea. Sometimes we (ok, I) get stressed just thinking about decluttering and this gives an idea of what that page will discuss. Also the chapters are not just rooms of the house but also age-related for toddler, young child, teenager, up to adult. And it also mentions solving a clutter problem for a multi-use room, a space used by more than one person, and also paper clutter and mental clutter. It takes some of the already-mentioned organizational tips and goes a bit further.

I love home organizer shows and books so you would think my home reflected my knowledge. Nope! I'm a Marie Kondo-dropout. I zone out watching the Home Edit show, and I made the 3 piles in my bedroom: keep, donate, & trash.. and then let them sit there (not the clean clothes but the handbags, hats, shoes...) Then I got stressed and put them all back. I'm not a hoarder, really I'm not! I'm a disorganized person married to another disorganized person and both of us can't part with sentimental items or ones that "might come in handy someday". I did have a few large bags of outgrown grandchildren toys make it out to my trunk to bring to Goodwill, but they sat there for awhile because I am also a procrastinator. Now you know why organizational skills don't work well for me, but there is always hope!

I have to mention one (rather large) caveat, about all the organization coaches, not just this author. The best method to organize is for every item to have a place. I don't have enough closet and cabinet space and that can hurt. But mostly they use bins, baskets, lucite boxes and the like with labels if not see-through. I've priced storage containers at different stores and they don't come cheaply. Even Walmart had a see-through lucite container that would be for some kind of dry kitchen ingredient and it was $10.00. Times that against how many I would need, plus linen or wicker baskets and bins, and it will all come with a hefty price tag. That was the only issue I had with the book but it is something to consider.

Seriously though, this is a really good book and I loved flipping through it and having some basic tips reinforced in an easy to read layout. There aren't too many more ways to spin this topic-- decluttering, simple decor, minimal living---and this one was a pleasant and quick read. I think when someone needs help with too much stuff in their homes they might seek out a book or show to get motivated. None of these declutter gurus are reinventing the wheel, but they are giving inspiration to someone to do what needs to be done. I would liken this author and others to motivational speakers. They may be saying the same messages in different speeches but for the person who needs to hear it, it lights a fire under them, maybe for the first time.

It would make a nice gift for someone's birthday or a new house party. Recommended! 4.5/5

Home Sweet Organized Home is a colourful illustrated guide on home organisation. The best part is the multitude of bright illustrations, and the dip in style. However if I am honest there is nothing new and all the tips and tricks have been said before by many different people. It is good that the author encourages you to find your own way. and it is geared towards families. Sections are included to encourage other family members to join in and there are lots of worksheets and lists. Overall it is a nice book to dip into but it doesn't offer anything new.

Thanks NetGalley for the eARC! I loved how family focused some of these organizing tips were. It made me realize that just because something is aesthetically pleasing doesn’t mean it’s necessarily functional for my lifestyle.

Some tips were new and smart, others were predictable but tried and true. Loved the workbook at the back too
