Stuck the landing nicely on the final book of Catalina's trilogy! There's a lot of action to follow, and a fair number of plot twists. I really hope Ilona Andrews decide to do a trilogy for Arabella as well, because she's a fantastic character and I really want her story.
I love this series, the entire Baylor clan, and basically all Ilona Andrews. "Ruby Fever" was wonderful and fast paced from start to finish, and will be beyond ecstatic if we get more books about the family or even just set in the same world.
A satisfying conclusion to Catalina's arc, Ruby Fever ramps up the threats pulling House Baylor and their allies in all directions. A league of killers converges as a major ally is grievously injured, embittered family ties are strained, and Catalina learns more about her rare power. There are lead-in set up for the last Baylor sister to have her own trilogy, but the series could rest on its laurels here, too. A fun, fast-paced romp of a story.
OMG! Totally riproaring awesome. The writer keeps the action fast paced. It read like a grand finale wrapping up loose ends. I hope she continues this series with Arabella and fleshes out Linus, Victoria and Cornelius. 5 stars!! I would buy this book and many more in the future. Great job Ilona.
This is a good end to Catalina’s story. All of the things I liked are major spoilers though so no more from me here - except to say I am really looking forward to the next story!
I loved Ruby Fever so much! Alessandro and Catalina's relationship reminds me so much of Kate & Curran. Both characters are flawed but its their flaws that make them so exceptional and its the others willingness to accept their partners flaws and embrace them as they are that makes the romance so utterly swoon-worthy.
The family dynamics in this series are always fun and adding the new layer of additional—previously unknown— members made for an entertaining ride.
I can't get enough of the Baylor sisters and after that ending, I can't wait to see what happens with Arabella.
What a great wrapup to this series! I love this family, and this works that Andrews has created. I felt the balance of romance to external plot skewed not quite enough romance for my personal taste.
I have loved this series since the very first book. It has humor and romance and the absolute best characters. This book answered so many questions and set up the series for a great continuation. I wish there was a tad bit more of the slow burn romance, but it was still a great read.
The final book in this era of the series was fantastic! It answered so many questions, gave us the feels we needed, elevated the action, and twisted the narrative.
I for one truly hope they write Arrabella next!
House Baylor continues on with their journey. Catalina and Alessandro work together to battle Arkan and his evil plots. ARC from NetGalley.
One of the best author collaborations around, Illona Andrews has written a wonderful conclusion to an extremely enjoyable paranormal series. Threads are neatly tied up in a bow in this action packed story that ends the trilogy of Alessandro and Catalina.
The world remains rich, the supporting characters keep being fleshed out, and I can only hope that this series continues with the next daughter, Arabella.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me an Advanced Reader's Copy of this novel.
I was very lucky to receive this ARC from Avon and Netgalley, and I enjoyed every minute of it! There's a reason why Ilona Andrews is one of my favorite authors. This is the third book in the Hidden Legacy series that focuses on the second sister, Catalina with her love interest Alessandro. We get some secrets answered and more family bounding Baylor style, with of course action and a mystery to solve tied in. I know that every time I pick up a book from House Andrews I will be in for a fun and wild ride. They don't disappoint!
Magic has some surprises for this story arc. Great characters and a tension filled plot keep this moving. Look for a surprise about half way through. I did not see it coming. One big problem put to rest so what is nexted.
This book was absolutely worth the wait. I know the authors were worried, because it wasn't an easy book, but it was an absolutely AMAZING conclusion to this trilogy. It also explained some lingering questions from Nevada's books. It's action packed, high tension, and gave us a deeper look into Catalina and Alessandro handling internal and external conflict. One chapter did drag on a bit (honestly, I don't know how Andrews decides where to end a chapter. Some of them are 4 pages, some of them are 50, and I just don't see their thought process) but that is literally the only negative I have. I would love to see all of the little side adventures Catalina mentions off-hand, some short stories would be a true treat.
This book was fantastic. I really loved being back with House Baylor. Ilona Andrews never disappoints. They have such a way of combining action with heart. Every story they right feels so authentic and real. Catalina and Alessandro are such a great pair. I love to see them showcasing their powers and investigating for the Baylor Agency. Love this series and this author.
As much as I’ve enjoyed other books by the Andrews, as well as previous books in this series, I failed to be enchanted by RUBY FEVER. I simply never got fully vested in the story, and around halfway I stopped trying and started skimming. I just wanted to find out what happened in the end and be done with it.
Ruby Fever, by Ilona Andrews is the latest installment in their Hidden Legacy Series. This installment is from the POV of Catalina, as she resolves many different conflicts, and gets steamy with her fiancé.
This book was everything I hoped it would be; an awesome ending, and an awesome revelation. Catalina and Alessandro are a captivating couple, and I can’t get enough. This was a fantastic final entry in a series from one of my very favorite authors.
5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Ruby Fever is the satisfying conclusion of Catalina’s story in the Hidden Legacy series. With long kept family secrets revealed, the story is well paced from start to finish. There’s a good deal of responsibility on Catalina’s shoulders and this book shows she’s able to handle it. The intensity that drives Catalina to help House Baylor survive and excel comes through the narrative well.
Ilona Andrews writes strong characters with rich world building and this story is no different. Even if the prior story Emerald Blaze is not fresh in the reader’s memory, that’s ok. The narrative doesn’t require perfect recall, nor does it rehash in excruciating detail. With that in mind, it isn’t a book one can jump into and fully enjoy without prior knowledge of this series. There are details from the very beginning that finally gain clarity here.
Conclusions to series can be challenging, especially one with different arcs and narratives like Hidden Legacy. Team Andrews delivers both for the series and Catalina. Ruby Fever ties the series together in an enjoyable fast paced read.
Was able to get an ARC of this book. Thanks so much for making my year!
Loved this book. Such a great wrap up for Catalina's story. I made myself stop reading every few chapters because I wanted it to last. The home base described in the prologue is a dream of mine so thank you for summarizing this amazing layout to make me jealous forever.
Ilona Andrews has not made a book I didn't love so I expected love, action and a wrap up to Catalina's trilogy. I was not disappointed. It was everything I wanted and more. More being a sneak peak into Arabellas arc which I'm very excited for. My favorite part of this series is the fact that even though each sister has her own three book arc there are storylines and mysteries that crossover so you get insight beyond the close of the previous sisters story. All of these books have made me laugh and cry which is a testament to the amazing writing. The descriptions of scenes and emotions are so well written and I can vividly imagine every moment. Five stars from this bookstore owner. I recommend to all my customers especially those who love paranormal romance.
Such a thrilling conclusion to Catalina's books! Ruby Fever is filled with non stop action, excellent snark, romance and an intricate, spellbinding plot. I loved it from start to finish!
