Catalina is having a very, very bad time. The Head of the Texas Legislature has been killed in one of the Warden of Texas's properties and he is not answering the phone. As Deputy Warden, she need to step up and solve the murder, find out what happened to the Warden of Texas, fend off Arkan who is gunning for her and her fiance Alessandro, and deal with foreign interference. The more she digs, the more everything is intertwined and personal to her and the whole Baylor family. Plenty of intrigue, action, and family drama to end this arc of the Hidden Legacy series. It will be interesting to see what the author will throw out in Arabella's path to happiness!

Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this title!

Swoon-worthy ending to an amazing trilogy, House Andrews for the win! I loved this book from beginning to end and have read it at least a dozen times since I received it. This is a wild ride from beginning to end. The pace of this story is fantastic and keeps my heart pumping. Warning, this book should not be read as a standalone. Second Warning, do not start reading this right before bedtime. Chances are, you will not be able to put down the book and end up with a book hangover. Is it worth the book hangover?

I loved this conclusion to Catalina's story. There is drama, backstabbing, skeletons in the closets exposed, and vengeance. Everything I love is rolled up into this book. What I loved most is Catalina coming into her own. Her growth in this book continues and she learns more about herself and those around her. What she thought she knew about her boss, her grandmother, and others is blown out of the water and I LOVE IT. There are explosions both physically and mentally. Catalina is thrown for a loop many times and each time, she comes back stronger and hits harder. Her powers grow and the way House Andrews morphs is phenomenal and a fresh interpretation of sirens. My mind is blown.

The blood-pumping action keeps this book moving at a fast pace. Catalina and the Baylor House are being assaulted on multiple fronts. Allies and family members are hurt and still strive to do the right thing. Although once, I would like to see Catalina lose control and let her dark wings FLY! This world is rich with multiple layers. The character development is phenomenal. The interactions between the characters are hilarious at times and poignant at others. This story could be over the top but it is not. All the questions I had regarding the Cesaer, and my suspicions, all of them are answered. I'm thrilled that I was mostly right yet House Andrews takes it to another level that I should have seen coming. LOVED IT!

The ending is perfect and I really do hope the youngest Baylor, Arabella receives her own trilogy. Her quips nearly stole the show. Instead, it enhanced the overall amazing dialogue from the different characters. This paranormal romance is highly recommended to everyone.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon/Harper Voyager for gifting me an advanced copy of this book. I was so excited to get my hands on it! Below is my honest review.

Anything Ilona Andrews writes is gold, pure gold. Hidden Legacy is no exception. I know they had a lot of struggle on getting this one to where they wanted it to be, but it turned out to be top notch and the perfect conclusion to Catalina's time as the main character.

Ruby Fever brings the Arkan story to an explosive ending, and is chock full of action. Twists and turns abound! Catalina has really grown into her role, and having to step up and do this job without Linus really pushes her limits. Thankfully, she has Alessandro and an amazing family/framily to support her.

I absolutely loved this trilogy and adore this world, and really hope that the tidbit at the end was a hint of more to come.

Highly recommended - with the caveat that this is the third Catalina book, which followed a Nevada trilogy, and threads of all of those previous books are found in this one.

Another hit from writing duo Illona Andrews. This is the completion of Catalina's story. Fast paced and fun, this is a great book to read.

4.5 stars

Ruby Fever is the 6th book in the popular Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews and the conclusion to Catalina's storyline. The Baylor's face one of their biggest challenges when the Warden of Texas is incapacitated, a major Houston player has been murdered, and her fiance's sworn enemy is coming for them all.

As always. the Andrews pen a futuristic adventure of epic proportions with plenty of love, laughter, mayhem, car chases, swords, and strong women who kick ass and take names. Multiple storylines dance an intricate dance that never fails to fascinate. Old secrets are finally spilled as Catalina and Alessandro work their way towards their happily ever after. A climactic ending left me cheering and more than ready for Arabella's story.

Catalina and House Baylor have to race against the clock to save their family, both known members and newly discovered ones. Someone seems to be targeting people close to the family, and trying to divide and conquer them. Catalina and Alessandro will work harder than ever to find the killer. And an escaped spider.

I can't get enough of Catalina and Alessandro, and this book was PERFECTION. I'm going to miss them!

There were quite a few plots that needed to draw to a close, and Ilona Andrews doesn't disappoint. Ruby Fever was chock-full of action, and we got to discover new things regarding Alessandro's family, Catalina's magic and tidbits that were fulfilling. There were even some plot elements from Nevada's trilogy that reared their head in this one, so it really felt cohesive across the two series.

I do wish there were more romantic elements + downtime between Alessando and Catalina. The snippets we got mixed in with all the action didn't feel like enough! But I could have read a 600 page book of just the two of them and their banter and absolutely loved it. Their trilogy was so, so satisfying (and one of my favorites from Ilona Andrews, tied with Kate Daniels!), and I hope we get to see more of these two in future works. (Up next is Arabella?! *pleads desperately to whatever power will listen we get more of the Baylors*)

I've already read this book twice, and I know this series will be one that I re-read time and again. Love, love, love.

PS - does anyone else want to know what happened to Jadwiga the spider? I was totally betting on Leon stepping on it!

Ahhhh that was such a good conclusion for this arc in the Hidden Legacy series for Catalina and Alessandro. I took my time with this one cause I knew I would be super sad for it to be done so it’s bittersweet.

I really have enjoyed the world building in this one. Even though it’s set in Texas Ilona Andrews still manages to add the magic without it being a fantasy world.

I can’t wait for the next arc of this series!

This was actually a little bit of a let down for me. I've been a huge fan of Ilona Andrews since I first read Nevada. These past few books with Catalina didn't feel as fleshed out or as engaging as those with Nevada. I felt like she was a ghost of a character and I was often more interested in the characters she was interacting with rather than her.

I'll continue to read their books, but they may not be purchase first read later anymore.

I do not have the eloquent words to express the mastery that was this book. I just want to scream. I laughed out loud numerous times, gasped in shock, and felt like punching through the book at some of these villains. I know this book was painful for this writing duo to complete, but to me, this was all well worth it. I’m so happy with it.

We get the answers to so many questions, both to questions we already had and those we never thought to ask (or at least I didn’t). A lot of things were tied up nicely while also leaving a door slightly cracked for a potential Arabella trilogy. I really hope we get that trilogy. I adore Catalina and Alessandro with every fiber of my being and loved seeing their development as a couple over the series.

This book gripped me from the first pages and had so many cool revelations that kept me hooked. I love their ability to create worlds and stay consistent with magic systems. I’m honestly reeling because I liked it so much. Maybe I’ll think of things to critique at a later point, but my emotional conclusion is that this book was the best.

Matilda might also be one of my favorite people ever. I would wish for her to get her own book at some point. Probably less likely.

Anyways, definitely recommend.

Ilona Andrews brings the Catalina Baylor trilogy to an epically wild closing with RUBY FEVER. RUBY FEVER is book six in the urban fantasy Hidden Legacy series overall, and the third book in a row to focus on the second magic-wielding sister in the Baylor family, Catalina. The first three in the Hidden Legacy series focused on the eldest, Nevada Baylor. Next up for continuing series will be the youngest sister, Arabella- yay!

This series is chock-a-block full of nonstop action and magic. Battles upon battles are stacked and somehow the stakes seems to get higher each time, even when it doesn’t seem possible that this is even metaphysically possible? RUBY FEVER is a pretty quick read, and I felt like the pace of the action is frenetic, which I’m sure contributed to the feeling of the book being short because it’s still a good-sized 320 pages as compared to 392 pages for book five, EMERALD BLAZE.

When her older sister Nevada married another uber-powerful Prime, Catalina took over as the head of the Baylor House. It’s been awesome to watch Catalina mature and really come into her powers. Andrews writes absolutely kickass competent heroines, and I am here for it!! Catalina had a girlhood crush on Alessandro Sagredo, an Italian count and playboy. It turns out that Alessandro is an excellent assassin and an even better fiancé, and I adore Catalina and Alessandro together. He’s very dishy, but more importantly he’s a good man with an enormous heart, and he chooses to use his magical powers ultimately for good (although there’s often the fun grey areas where he operates, which tickle my fancy).

The whole Baylor family is a joy to immerse myself in. We don’t get as much of the rest of the Baylors in RUBY FEVER as we usually get to enjoy, but there’s still enough of these secondary characters including the Baylors’ close friends and allies, to meet my needs. Authors Ilona and Gordon Andrews do their usual fantastic job of world-building. Andrews’ RUBY FEVER is endlessly entertaining and provides gripping action, keeping me gripping the edge of my metaphorical seat with every glorious page.

I gave it a 4 instead of my usual 3 for books i enjoyed. i really liked that it ended the Baylor family saga.
Yes, they could write more about this family and the other very interesting characters we met but they do not NEED to. The other books in the series were all cliff hangers. The story was never complete. There HAD to be another novel.

As usual the battles were awesome. And it always looked like they would lose but of course they did not. So many secret House histories revealed and government conspiracies/machinations. Like whew! And in doing that Andrews tied up allllllll the threats against House Baylor and Texas. So yay! No cliff hanger. Nobody in danger (that we know of). Peace finally.

Do we the readers want more stories from this world?
HELL YEAH!

But it is not necessary. Lovely book. Very satisfying.

Ilona Andrews has captivated me again, and I’m not mad about it! My opinion on Catalina’s trilogy has made a complete 180 degree turn, from originally thinking her power was too much like her older sister Nevada’s, to now feeling like she has come into her own as a person and a leader. Andrews has whet my appetite for more with the last remaining sister, Arabella. Suffice to say, this reader will forever be an Andrews stan.

Ruby Fever is the third book for Catalina Baylor and is the sixth book in Hidden Legacy universe written by the husband and wife writing team known as Ilona Andrews. This is not a standalone book, so you really should at a minimum read the first two books for this trilogy. You will have a better reading experience if you read all six.

This book wraps up Catalina's story in a manner very similar to the way the Kate Daniels books wrapped up. There are enemies to fight, a family to protect, and secrets to discover. I loved reading it.

The worldbuilding in this book is really well done. You won't ever feel like someone is just reciting facts about the environment, you will see it through the character's eyes. The storytelling is so engaging that my reader's trance lasted for the entire book. That happens to me a ton when reading anything by Ilona Andrews, and I was so pleased that it happened yet again.

I sincerely hope there will be more Hidden Legacy books in the future!

Thank you Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.

I am a very big Ilona Andrews fan. I started with the Kate Daniel's books, one of my favorite series of all time, and the Hidden Legacy series is a close runner up. This book, if it follows the pattern, is the third and final book in the Catalina Baylor trilogy. The book definitely felt like a wrap up, with a fast paced, serious action, story line. Readers can be assured, though, that loose ends are tied up and the ending is well done. I very much hope, there is an Arabella trilogy following this book. I think the authors left room for this potential, so finger crossed. Definitely a fitting end to the trilogy within the larger series and I hope for more books.

In this final book of the trilogy all my questions were answered. We get to see all our favorite characters once more in a thrilling mystery. Ilona Andrews always deliver books that cannot be put down.

A thoroughly satisfying wrap up of the Hidden Legacy series? Or just Catalina's trilogy? Unsure which this is, but it basically ties up 98% of the storylines in the last 6 books + novellas + short stories. Ilona Andrews has built a devoted fan base because they give us action, mystery, romance and family in a beautifully & expertly constructed story.

I can pretty much guarantee that any book written by Ilona Andrews will be a five star read for me. This husband wife team writes incredible stories that I can't put down, leave me with book hangovers, and send me to the internet to find out when the next one is coming out. I love all of their series, but this one might be my favorite. I want to be a member of the tight-knit, loyal, powerful, magic-wielding, funny, badass Baylor family.

This paranormal romance series takes place in a familiar feeling world where magic and power are major players. So far there are two trilogy arcs in this series. The first three are about the oldest sister Nevada, and the second three are about the next oldest sister Catalina. My fingers are crossed that Arabella, the next sister, will also get a trilogy.

I can't do the storyline justice, so I'm not going to try. I'd recommend you read these in order- I promise you won't be disappointed. You will get magic, adventure, witty snark, smart storylines, well-developed characters, strong female leads, slow burn romances, a fast-paced, intricate, action-packed plot, and all kinds of creativity and surprises that will keep you turning the pages way past your bedtime.

This one isn't out until August, sot here's plenty of time to read the first five. Seriously, do it!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Sometimes I think about how I feel into reading Illona Andrews Hidden Legacy series and I can't believe I was hesitant to give them a try. They are fantastical world building in a world that look not that different from our own. The magic rules and characters are so interesting and compelling and everytime I need another book in the series I learn something else about how their world works and why it would be awesome and awful to live in a magic filled Houston.

Catalina Baylor is the prime of her family and I'm obsessed with her family. I re-read these books every year in anticipation for the next one and the delay on this one has been devestating. At the beginning of this book, I was jarred to what was happening and where we left off with our friends, but I was quickly pulled back in to both the story and everyone's personalities.

I cannot recomend these books highly enough. This book is the sixth book in this world and while you don't have to read the previous ones you'll definitely have a better experience.

There were some parts that I felt didn't have the emotional impact of some of the previous books, but the story itself and the mystery was compelling and engaging the whole way through. Also Catalina and Allesandro are perfection!

ARC REVIEW:

It was worth the wait. So worth the wait!

Questions are answered, bad guys dispatched, love is tested, surprises revealed, and the entire journey is littered with twists and turns aplenty. I couldn't put it down. Well, okay, so I did put it down (more like dropped my Kindle on my face when I fell asleep) around 2:30 AM but the second I woke up this morning I grabbed that device and didn't stop reading until I reached the final page. No surprise that the first thing I wanted to do was go back to page one and start over a second time. :)

I don't know what future plans Ilona Andrews has for the Baylor family or if this is the end of the Hidden Legacy series. (PLEASE, don't let this be the end!!!) There's a new Arabella thread introduced that has me hoping (wishing, praying, not above begging) for another trilogy. Plus, Leon needs a match. And...and...and...I love this family way too much to say goodbye. Not yet!

If you're a Hidden Legacy fan, you probably already have Ruby Fever on pre-order. If you're new to this world, start now with Burn for Me (Nevada's trilogy - Book 1), reading the books in order so you'll know the entire back story and be ready for Catalina's finale when Ruby Fever releases.
