I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was great being back in Captivity with all the characters we've met over the course of the series and getting to know Ford and Lilah even better. They were the cutest couple with great chemistry and I loved how they were there for each other every step of the way. This is a brilliant series and I thought it finished beautifully.

This was such a fun read. As a long time Samanthe Beck fan, I was expecting nothing, but the best and I LOVED this!

This heartwarming story of a single mom-to-be is left to navigate a broken heart and the uncertain future that lies ahead.

Captivity, Alaska once again plays center in a story about loss, love, and second chances. While Ford and Lilah never had a romantic relationship this second chance story gives them both a chance to discover true love and reconcile their past.

Both have secrets and will need to trust each other if they can learn to move foward. I cried as Fords story unfolded, it was awesome and had all the feels.

Lilah has to sort out family expectations and dissapointment, something Ford understands and allows for their friendship to grow closer.

Every standalone in this series was fantastic and once again, the chemistry is off-the-charts hot in this slow burn when it ignites.

Looking for adventure? Try Captivity Alaska. I hear the bush pilots are top notch, the bartenders are friendly and the entertainment exciting and full of adventure.

I received this book for free from Netgalley for an honest review. This was very sexy and very appealing but I found the main character of laughing in certain areas but otherwise a great read.

Sometimes you just need a steamy romance set in Alaska to read the blues away. This novel did just that foe me. A romance that was unique and compelling.

A slow burn book for sure... I kept wondering if they would or wouldn't.... But the sexual tension between between them was crazy...

He's the grumpy former Army vet and she's the sunny off-limits girl.
This age-gap, small-town with a with of paranormal was a nice read, but it drags on a little bit.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love this series! I enjoyed seeing more from Lilah and Ford in this installment. My heart was broken for Lilah during the second novel and I’m so happy to see her future play out in this one.

This series is great for romance, but also for tougher issues, like young pregnancy, loss, and self-acceptance. I’d definitely read more from this series.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Star Ratings - 1 (poor) – 5 (READ THIS BOOK)
· Writing Quality: 5 stars
· Story ingredient: 4 stars
· Ease of reading/Pace: 5 stars
· Plot strength: 4 stars
· Steam Level: 4 stars - High on romance.

Notes/Opinion (personal):

Friends to lovers troupe is a top favorite – and throw in a bit of a not so secret baby (my top, top favorite troupe), this met the mark. I enjoyed seeing a friendship grow, especially when the rest of the town in involved in the ‘growing’ part and knows the outcome before the couple does.

This was a pretty quick read with a bit of a twist that I didn’t really expect but highly enjoyed.

Knocked Up in Alaska is the third book in the Captivity series and focuses on Lilah and Ford. If you have read the previous books, you were introduced to these two characters before briefly and also most importantly, the reader was introduced to Shay, the deceased family member and integral to this story. I liked the book and the characters, especially Ford and how he is so supportive and loving although also frustrating at times. The stories also have a spiritual/supernatural sort of element that is really a nice thread woven through all the narratives. I recommend if you have read the others, I dont recommend starting with this one.

Unfortunately, after reading book one in this series, I have decided that this series/author is not for me. Thus I will not be able to read this book right now. Out of respect for the author, I will not review this series on Goodreads.

While I greatly enjoyed the first two books in this series, I was left underwhelmed by this one. The book isn't bad, but I just didn't connect with main characters or their love story. I really dislike when characters refuse to talk to each other about what is going on. Just talk to each other! I also dislike when characters say they can't be together for whatever reason and have this conversation over and over again. Make a decision and move on. As the reader I'm tired of the rehashing. Anyway, I really do like this author and look forward to more from her, but this one was not for me.

I had been eagerly awaiting this installment and, as usual, Samanthe doesn't dissapoint!

I was sold on this series from the first book, but I think this one is my favorite. The series builds to this book, and I found myself rooting for Lilah and Ford SO MUCH.

From book 1 we got the impression that Lilah had a secret, and just wanted to be trusted enough to break free. But that secret completely changed the course of her life. I did NOT see the father piece coming, but it ties everything together so nicely.

I really love the way she approached the friends-to-lovers piece. It really left me feeling as though these two characters cared about each other.

KNOCKED UP IN ALASKA :
-Grief and Loss
-F2L
-SEXY TIMES
-Family ties, and learning to forgive
-Small town setting that you wont soon forget.
-FORD, whom I love

I will always one-click buy a Samanthe Beck book!

While I really liked this book, I was bothered by the main character's crush on the love interest for a while. How long is this while? As she literally just turned 21, and you're 31. It disturbed me a little that it could have possibly been when she was a teenager, because he would definitely be too old for her. 10 years is not a drastic age gap, but it makes a difference when you’re fresh off of being a teenager versus being a grown adult for a couple of years.

I was also bothered by a 13-year-old being able to curse so freely and boldly. A 13-year-old should not be dropping f-bombs in conversation with her parents. Her friends, sure, but her parents, no. Maybe it's the Caribbean upbringing in me.

I think Lilah's hangup about Shay was unnecessary, regardless of how the storyline played out because it was his right to know and she shouldn't be taking responsibility for his actions.

Overall, the book was good and it was beautifully written. Once it grabbed my attention, it kept it. I liked how it was a mid-burn type of book. Not too slow, not too fast, and there was a good buildup to the romance. I agreed with Ford’s point that she was too young to know what she really wanted based solely on the fact that she didn’t get to live life outside of her comfort zone. I wanted her to go out and explore. Raising a kid is a lot; yes, it brings responsibilities and adulthood, but I wanted her to get more life experience before settling in her hometown with the first guy she’s truly in love with.

Thank you, NetGalley, and Entangled Publishing, for an eARC of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Everyone in Captivity, Alaska now knows Lilah Iquat’s big (and getting bigger) secret. She’s knocked up. Pregnant. All it took was a foolish decision with lasting consequences. Now Lilah’s going it alone—with the help of the town. But with one particular craving getting stronger, Lilah has her eyes on just one thing: too-sexy Ford Langley.

Ford may be out of the army, but his Special Forces sense of honor and duty hasn’t disappeared. Which is exactly why Lilah is fully off-limits, hands-off, and don’t even think about it, Ford. She’s too young and too bright for a man who’s seen too much, too soon. He’ll hold to his code—even if it kills him. And it just might.

Now Lilah is showing Ford how much light and life and love he’s missing out on, testing every last shred of his resolve. But with a baby on the way and the whole town involved, Ford and Lilah are about to learn the hard way that life never goes according to plan…especially when it comes to love.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Delilah and Ford. Delilah is a college student. Ford owns a bar. Delilah finds out she is pregnant by a one night stand. There is a mutual attraction between Delilah and Ford. They each have some issues but together they work through them and find love.

I have to admit that I really dragged my feet with this book.

Overall the story/plot was good but there were certain elements that I couldn't relate to or get past.

Lilah participated in a paintball game which had me questioning if a pregnant woman would even be allowed to play.

I also struggled with the intimacy of Lilah and Ford's interactions early on which could be because I haven't read the previous books in the series. I'm not sure how good of a friendship Lilah and Ford had but it felt awkward and slightly inappropriate.

And I couldn't relate to how soon after giving birth the couple engaged in sex.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing/Amara for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. ok, I guess I am getting old, because this book was just not for me. I liked the characters ok but not the storyline. It just felt wrong to me. I admit, I skimmed it just to get through. So from me its a 3 star. Ok but nothing I would recommend to my friends.
