Thank you Entangled Publishing for the complimentary copy of Knocked Up in Alaska, Captivity Alaska #3.
This novel was a cute romance built first on friendship. Ford steps-up to help Lilah with her unplanned pregnancy, especially since the father has tragically passed away (check book 1 & 2 as this storyline plays out). Ford literally becomes Lilah's Knight in Shining Armor.
This friends to lovers romance has its bumps but eventually they see other for what they are, perfect for each other and the baby. Ford is many years older that Lilah, so we have the older man drama built into the storyline too.
The setting continues to be fantastic. I did not enjoy this novel as much as I enjoyed Book #2.
I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, but now I’m wishing I had. I don’t think it’s necessary to follow along with this story, but some of the back story would have been nice. I really liked Ford, but not his thinking about Lilah’s own mind. I loved how Lilah stood up to him!
This was a pleasant surprise. You have a Lilah who is sweet but stubborn and you have Ford who is also sweet and equally stubborn. Ford is a ex-military turned bar owner in a small Alaskan town that has lived his life. While Lilah born in raised is the town and on her way to college after finishing some courses at a local college. Ford had his reserves about Lilah because of the age gap but he is also protective of her and has been fighting his attraction for her. While the attraction grows they find themselves relating on an unexpected thing. I would absolutely recommend!

Can a person protect a heart too much?
What happens when two people might be perfect together? What happens when the guy cares more about everyone else and will pick someone else’s happiness over his own?
What should be learned when she’s carrying the baby of one of her friends who passed away in a accident? What can she do with all the guilt and self punishment?
The author writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors Blurb: Everyone in Captivity, Alaska now knows Lilah Iquat’s big (and getting bigger) secret. She’s knocked up. Pregnant. All it took was a foolish decision with lasting consequences. Now Lilah’s going it alone with the help of the town. But with one particular craving getting stronger, Lilah has her eyes on just one thing: too-sexy Ford Langley.
Ford may be out of the army, but his Special Forces sense of honor and duty hasn’t disappeared. Which is exactly why Lilah is fully off-limits, hands off, and don’t even think about it, Ford. She’s too young and too bright for a man who’s seen too much, too soon. He’ll hold to his code even if it kills him. And it just might.
Now Lilah is showing Ford how much light and life and love he’s missing out on, testing every last shred of his resolve. But with a baby on the way and the whole town involved, Ford and Lilah are about to learn the hard way that life never goes according to plan…especially when it comes to love.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
Knocked Up in Alaska is the third installment of the Captivity, Alaska series, focusing Lilah and Ford’s love story. It can be read as a standalone, as any backstory needed is easily explained in this novel. The book opens on Lilah’s 21st birthday after she tells her overprotective mother about the baby. Her mom disowns Lilah, and with no other place to go, she moves in with Ford, who has been fighting his feelings for her for two years. Can Ford keep himself in check and be the friend that Lilah needs?
I love a good small town romance with lots of recurring quirky characters that pop onto the page as you are reading, and this series is all that. The steamy chemistry between Lilah and Ford is irresistible, along with just enough drama to keep your interest and with just a bit of humor to keep it light. I also enjoyed the mystical spirit of Shay guiding Lilah from the beyond.
Fire with a side of heart. Temptation means nothing without emotion. Knocked Up in Alaska gives spicy a bit of soul. Ford and Lilah prove that naughty can be nice. From laugh out loud to unpredictable, Beck serves up an irresistible entree for the senses.
When it comes to breaking rules, Samanthe Beck holds nothing back. With splashes of humor that put a smile to your face, temptation that puts the senses on high alert and moments of emotion that leave footprints on the heart, Knocked up in Alaska proves itself a gem. From spicy to sensitive, Lilah and Ford are a different kind heartwarming with a heartbreaker twist.
This book was good. Solid 4 stars. Ford and Lilah were a great couple. The author crafted great conflict with Ford’s honor and Lilah being a younger girl. Ford is also quite swoon-worthy! I love the alpha-male, ex-military heroes that love to protect the heroines. Ford and Lilah had solid character growth throughout the story. This book was very well written with a storyline that kept me intrigued to the end. I highly recommend this series.
The Captivity Alaska series by Samanthe Beck has attention worthy characters, and many memorable moments. Book three of the series centres on Lilah and Ford's story. I liked Ford's character from the other instalments in the series, and the pregnancy bombshell that has been a circular element within books one and two is finally revealed in this story. The story itself was a good read, however, felt it was a bit lacking compared to books one and two of the series..

Read this if you like: Accidental pregnancy, small towns, dual POV, forbidden love, age gap, spice 🔥
I was so drawn in to Lilah in the other 2 books. She seemed so sweet. I was extremely excited to see that this book was about her. Ford as well because he seemed so mysterious in the last 2 books. We found out in the first book that Lilah is pregnant.
By now everyone in Captivity, Alaska now knows her BIG secret. She’s knocked up. All it took was a foolish decision with lasting consequences. Lilah’s going it alone because the father passed away. She has the help of his family and the town. With one particular craving getting stronger, Lilah has her eyes on just one thing, the way too-sexy Ford Langley.
Ford’s ex-Army Special Forces sense of honor and duty haven’t disappeared, which is exactly why Lilah is off limits. She’s too young (21) and too bright for an ex-Army man who’s seen too much, too soon.
Now Lilah is showing Ford how much he’s missing out on, testing every last shred of his resolve. With a baby on the way and the whole town involved, Ford and Lilah are about to learn the hard way that life never goes according to plan.
I love the forbidden love vibes. Ford tried so hard to stay away. Ford, ugh. He is like a sexy, deep voiced cinnamon roll. This is a semi slow burn that just explodes out of nowhere. The tension between them is 🔥. This book was also just so sweet with the kids. I hope there will be a fourth book.🤞 Highly recommend this book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Samanthe Beck. And Entangled Publishing for the gifted copy. ❤️
Good story set in an Alaskan small town. This book is part of a series, and although it isn't necessary to read all the other books to follow the storyline, you'll enjoy the others.
This is another wonderful visit to the town of Captivity Alaska. Ford is the battle hardened former Special forces Soldier and current bar owner. At 31 he believes he has seen enough of life for a man twice his age. He is loyal to his friends and hot enough to singe. Lilah is just turning 21 and is single and pregnant. She is sweet and loving and scared of the consequences of her actions. The characters in this series are just marvelous and we get to enjoy the energy and mischief throughout the story. They give the reader the opportunity to laugh and sigh at their antics as they love and support each other. The author has created a village that anyone would be happy to be a part of. Lilah and Ford create a family from broken pieces that is strong and is perfect for both of them.
Knocked Up in Alaska by Samanthe Beck is the third book in her Captivity Alaska series. This books definitely can be read out of order. I have not read the first two in the series yet, but I definitely will be! I really enjoyed the writing. The characters are wonderfully written and the dialogue is well written and fun. Highly recommend!
Thanks NetGalley, Samanthe, and Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read!
I was provided a free ARC of Knocked Up In Alaska by Samanthe Beck from Entangled Publishing LLC via NetGalley in return for my honest review of this book. Any opinions stated in this review are mine completely and are not influenced by outside sources.
I cannot put into words how much I loved this book. It hit all of my favorite tropes, The characters were witty and felt real, the plot was interesting, and the sex steamy. Ford and Lilah’s chemistry was off the charts and I was rooting for them the entire time. Ford got on my nerves a bit with his “Don’t hold too tight” but that gets solved towards the end of the book. Lilah felt so freaking realistic and oftentimes I felt like if I were in her shoes I would make the same choices. The side characters were a shining light in this book, between their bets and the four big burly guys knitting little baby clothes I had a stitch in my side from how hard I was laughing. This book is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone.
I really wish I would of read the other two books prior to this one, I feel like i would of loved it even more because I kept feeling like I was missing something ! I
Lilah Finds her self a single mom at 21 and her whole town makes them selves evolved . Ford kept saying Lilah was too young for her it was like a broken record almost and it is only a 10 year difference . Ford treats her as she is a child when she is an adult.
I Just feel this book was a little slower than I normally like to read..
.
This is the third and I am assuming final book in a series. I’ve read them all and I think they are best enjoyed when read in order. I’ve been looking forward to Lilah’s story and was a bit surprised that Ford was paired with her, as at first thought it didn’t seem a likely relationship. Given her surprise pregnancy, though, the whole older man stepping in to rescue her thing worked really well. I absolutely love the small town, Alaska setting and think it really adds to the stories. The secondary characters are also a real highlight and add a lot of humour and warmth. I loved this book and feel it rounded out the series very well.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was my first Samanthe Beck book and I don’t quite know how I feel about it. It’s a decent book with a slower than my liking beginning. I don’t know if it was the main characters mother reaction in the beginning of the book or what. I usually don’t take things to heart, but this was a solid 3 star for me.
Lilah is 21 and finds out she is pregnant. The baby’s father dies in a plane crash and her mother is furious with her for getting pregnant.
Ford is a 31 year old ex special forces bar owner. Who understands what Lilah is going through. As he was young and had a kid himself.
I think one of the biggest reasons this book wasn’t my favorite is that Ford kept saying Lilah was too young for him over and over again. Listen I got it the first few times, but he sounded more like a broken record until he couldn’t fight it anymore. It’s not like Ford was 50 years old, Lilah is only 21. She is a grown woman who made the choice to go to bed with someone not realizing it would result in a pregnancy.
I haven’t read any other books in this series and I did feel as though I missed out on some back history. However, I was able to keep up for the most part. I absolutely loved when Mia came into the picture. Seeing Ford with Mia and Lilah really made me enjoy the ending and middle of the book.

Lilah Iquat Has a big secret. She is twenty one and pregnant. The dad isn’t In the picture for reasons beyond anyones control and her mother has kicked her out, Lila’s gets help from ex special forces and very sexy Ford Langley.
Ford gives her a job and a place to stay. His Special Forces sense of honor and duty hasn’t disappeared. Which is exactly why Lilah is fully off-limits, hands-off. Can he put his long standing feelings for her aside and just be there for her? Especially now Lilah is showing Ford how much light and life and love he’s missing out on, testing every last shred of his resolve. But with a baby on the way and the whole town involved, Ford and Lilah are about to learn the hard way that life never goes according to plan…especially when it comes to love.
This is the third book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. I feel like if I had read the other two I would have had a stronger connection to the characters. Other wise it was a good quick read with a happy ending.
I am always drawn to a certain type of male character in novels, and with Ford, Beck nailed him perfectly – pun intended. Ex-military, nurturer, protector, alpha, hot, and gorgeous! What is there not to love??
All of those senses kick in when his secret of the heart starts to mean too much. He tries so hard to stay on his lane but Liliah proved to be too much and what a delightful journey this story is. My heart was singing.
Beck throws in fun, excitement, surprises, hotness and fire, and best of all, Shay. This truly is my favorite story of all three so far.
Do you have to read them all in order? You should in order to get the best of the best. Just loved this one so much and Ford is the perfect book boyfriend! yessss!
Lilah is pregnant at 21 - not at all where she expected to be. She had sex one time with a man who, soon after, crashed his plane into a mountain and died - shortly after finding out he was going to be a father. Now her mother is furious and she is on her own. Ford has his own experiences with a surprise pregnancy when he was a teenager - and is supportive of Lilah. He wants her to be in the drivers seat of her own life.
Ford and Lilah are totally sweet together - and they really are together before they are official. I think everyone but them sees it. They both also have quite a bit of baggage to work through - but things do follow a path that makes sense for both characters. I also very much appreciated that they did talk through things in a very adult way - even when they were mad at each other.
There is definitely a lot to like about this book - it is the third one in the series, but I don't think you needed to read the other books to understand this one. It very much stands alone. This is a solid 3.5 star read for me - it was a little slow towards the beginning and some of the side points in the story being off the mark kept me from being fully engaged. I also just didn't love the parental relationships in the book (other than Ford and Mia) - they all felt off. I think we were supposed to see the flaws in them and feel better about the relationships as those issues were resolved to an extent - but they still felt not great. I never really got over Lilah's mom slapping her at the beginning of the book - and Mia's mom and dad not noticing she was gone for three days was seriously problematic.
That being said, overall - this is a sweet, sexy small town Alaska romance with a side order of drama and low angst (despite some hefty topics).
I received this as an ARC via NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
This book was funny, well written and a feel good romance.
I wanted to love it so badly. Maybe it's because I didn't read any books in this series prior or maybe it's because I felt like the author took a simple plot and threw in circumstances just to get a word count in, but this didn't hit right.
The whole situation with Mia just felt wrong. Ford saying Lilah was too young every other thought. She is twenty one. Let her be an adult. Also, the whole Shay thing? I just didnt get why he kept appearing and did he really love her? The backstory for that wasn't there.
Should you read this book in order if you're reading the series? Yes. As a standalone? No.
