This was a story that had me laughing out loud (the knitting scene!) as well as tearing up from all the feels. The 2 phrases, “I choose you” and “You are loved” really socked it to me in the context of this story. If you like some steam, this book delivers. While I got a little frustrated with Ford’s “you are too young to really know what you want”, I could appreciate his perspective. This book is the third in the Captivity Alaska series and characters from all the other books were seamlessly integrated. While this could be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the other books to the series to fully appreciate the back stories. I sincerely hope this is not the last of Captivity, Alaska!

The more I read in this series, the more I fall in love with all these recurring characters. This one made feel especially emotional because I could relate to Lilah. I really wanted to see her get that happily ever after and especially with Ford. As much as I loved Ford, I was also frustrated with he stubbornness. I think this ended perfectly though. I'm hoping we are getting more in the series. I'm invested in this small town and the remaining single men in this circle of friends.

"CAN I BE DONE WITH GUYS MY AGE NOW?"

OMG Lilah and Ford are everything and more. When twenty-one year old Lilah Iquat reveals to her mother that she is pregnant her life takes a tumble for the worse when said mother turns her back on her. Ford Langley(older guy) steps in as a friend but little do they both know their friendship is about to get murky.

Loved this so much even Ford's idiotic "I need to let her go because I'm older than her" mentality.

The author takes the reader back to Captivity, Alaska, where the heroes are always ready to help . Ford Langley is one of these men. A former Army Special Forces, currently bar owner, has been attracted to Lilah for a while But he believes that young
Lilah Iquat is off-limits. That said, he’ll do whatever he can to help her.
Lilah finds herself pregnant with the baby’s father gone, and a mother that isn’t supportive.
But what is Captivity if not a supportive “village”.
It was interesting watching the interaction between Lilah and Ford. Two individuals that are opposites, but that doesn’t stop the attraction.
Will grumpy Ford and Lilah and her sunshine attitude have them realizing that they belong together?
I have to confess that at times I found the story dragging and lost my attention. Because of that it was more of a 3.5 stars story for me.
Still, is was an enjoyable story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Entangled.
The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Knocked Up in Alaska is the 3rd (and I'm thinking final) book in the Captivity, Alaska series by Ms. Beck and I felt it wrapped up the entire series in a nice perfect bow. I enjoyed revisiting the other characters from the first 2 books, most especially Izzy and Bridget - those two are a hoot! But it's that small-town, everyone knows everyone, charming feel that I most enjoy and this series checked all those boxes for me. Lilah and Ford's journey together had its up and downs but it was Lilah's growth and maturity that really captured the essence of this read. Ford grew as well, but it was Lilah and her strong, brave decisions that really had me cheering for these two. Lots of laughs, a few tears and many happy memories with this series. I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Knocked Up in Alaska feels like the last book in this series. I've read all of them and this one is a great conclusion to the series. This book is about Lilah and Ford's love story. The book begins with the discovery that Lilah is pregnant with Shay's baby. We have known that Shay passed away in a plane crash from the very first book. This book actually made me sad that we weren't going to get a Shay book because I think I would have loved Shay as a book boyfriend. In the first books, we knew that Shay was selfish and reckless. In this one, we know he was a good guy who would have been there for Lilah if he had lived. The love story in this book is strong and believable. I enjoyed this book a lot. Than you NetGalley for an advanced copy!

I loved Lilah's story!

Ever since I read the first book in the Captivity Alaska series, I've been waiting to read Lilah's story. Let me tell you, it was everything I was hoping for and so much more! Ford was also a secondary character (and Bridget showed us just how game he was in her book!) but I don't think I was expecting him to be Lilah's forever hero. Ah, but he is the perfect guy for her! Once he gets off his "I'm too old for her" high horse and starts to see her as a fully grown woman, that is.

This heartwarming story charmed me on so many levels. Lilah's relationship with her mother, with Shay's siblings, how Mia just fit right in, the knitting challenge, the jewelry story trip - that one nearly brought me to tears! So much good stuff in this book - I couldn't put it down and I absolutely loved every bit of it.

I really loved the light spiritualism in all these books, how they interact with Shay and allow for his input. Not quite on a paranormal level, just a little beyond the terrestrial plane. It was an exquisitely tender way to include a character who plays such an important role in the lives of his family.

This is a standalone romance with a wonderful HEA. I highly recommend the entire series for anyone who loves contemporary romance, small towns, strong women, and swoonworthy men. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the third book in this series and I have to say since I have not read the others in this series, there were times I wish I knew a little more about events secondary characters were referring to. However, even without knowing all of their back stories, I had no problem following the story of Ford and Lilah. Sometimes it's this not knowing that intrigues me enough to read the other books in the series, but I think in this case I'm ok with not knowing. For me, there were parts of this romance that were enjoyable but there were definitely sections that seemed to drag. We have Ford who has definite feelings for Lilah but feels she is much too young for him to date. He thinks of her as being far too innocent and unsure of what she wants at age 21. Even after discovering she is pregnant and trying to make it as a single mom, Ford still wants to treat her as if she doesn't know her own mind. And while I know this is the hurdle that the couple has to overcome, honestly at times I just wanted to smack Ford. At times Lilah was definitely the more mature of the two and even then that's a stretch. Overall, I suppose I just didn't connect with the characters.

This novel is the third in the Captivity, Alaska series by Samanthe Beck.
I confess that I would have liked the city and Alaska, in particular, to have more prominence, but that didn't happen. But it is, without a doubt, a book with a small village aura.

Surprisingly, or not, considering the title, the story begins with the village discovering (thanks to a public argument between mother and daughter) that young Lilah Iquat is pregnant.
Immediately, the sexy Ford Langley and his savior syndrome spring into action, offering to help, shelter, and employ her.

One of the aspects that I liked the most about the book was the way in which the story of the Ford was developed (despite some unnecessary clichés). But it's rare to see a male character so well built.

What I liked least were the descriptions of sex. I don't know if it was the writing (which I found somewhat confusing) or the choices, but it fell short of my expectations.

Overall, a nice romance.

Everyone in Captivity, Alaska now knows Lilah Iquat’s big secret. She’s knocked up. All it took was a foolish decision with lasting consequences. Now Lilah’s going it alone—with the help of the town. But with one particular craving getting stronger, Lilah has her eyes on just one thing: too-sexy Ford Langley.
Ford’s ex-Army Special Forces sense of honour and duty haven’t disappeared. Which is exactly why Lilah is fully off limits, hands-off, and don’t even think about it, Ford. She’s too young and too bright for an ex-Army man who’s seen too much. Which means that he’ll hold to his code—even if it kills him. And it just might.
Knocked up in Alaska was an emotional and heartwarming read. I really enjoyed the pining and tension between Lilah and Ford and Lilah plan to make Ford give in, and when he does it was fireworks. Mia and Shyla are the best kind of additions to the story, simply adorable.
Overall a fun read and ofcourse I enjoyed catching up with previous characters in the series. A book that left a smile on my face 

This book had a trope that I enjoy, but the writing just wasn't it for me. They needed to get to the point and not share so many unnecessary details about other people and characters.

3.5 stars.
A sweet romance with some very hot scenes featuring a young woman faced with a surprise pregnancy and a very protective older man with a “knight in shining armor” complex, “Knocked Up in Alaska”, by Samanthe Beck (Entangled: Amara), has also a lot of family and friends adding to the plot and complementing the romantic couple tale.
I liked the friendship and also the passion, sensuality and desire between Ford and Lilah, and how the author wrote the difference between “no-strings-attached” sex and an emotional, passionate and meaningful sexual relationship.
Ford’s falling head over heels for Lilah and his devotion to her and Shayla are compelling and his protective instincts endearing.
I loved Ford as a father and the relationship with Mia; and it was when Mia appeared that I really got excited with the story, because until then I had a hard time staying interested in all the friends, events and details of their lives in Captivity, Alaska.
The author wrote beautiful, heartwarming scenes involving Mia, Lilah and Shayla. Watching Ford interact with Mia and Shayla was great, too.
Ford’s need to keep the distance is understandable but the indecisiveness and the drama about the age difference somehow made the “cool and self-contained” hero seem sometimes a bit immature.
Lilah is a sweet heroine, dealing with life the best she can. The “damsel-in-distress” and the “virgin mother” aspects of the character were a bit too much for me.
I liked the setting and the supporting characters, it all brought warmth to the story.

This was a fun book to read. Lilah's mother found out on her 21st birthday that Lilah was pregnant. It did not go over well. It came out later she got pregnant by her friend Shay who died shortly after. She felt horribly guilty and had trouble getting over it. Ford owned the local bar and offered to let her stay at his place as long as she wanted.. They had always been attracted to each other, but Ford was quite a bit older and thought he was too old for her. The story had some wonderful scenes,: her giving birth with Ford by her side, Mia coming to Alaska, Ford and Lilah giving into their desires, an entitled rich brat who kept hitting on Lilah and the best was Shay coming to comfort Lilah several tmes. It all came down to a very good story

I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review

K-U in Alaska by S. Beck, published by Entangled Publishing LLC, is the third book in this series of interconnected stand-alones.
Ford Langley is a bartender/owner in his thirties. And he's hot for Lilah.
Lilah is a young woman who is about to graduate and after a fall-out with her single mother, she has to find new accomodations, a new job, kind of a new life.
And here comes the knight in shining armor, Ford. He's a good man, he really is. He only wants the best for the people around him, his substitute family.
What I really loved in this storyline, beneath being me a huge sucker for oops baby stories, is that every one of the main characters dealed in one way or other with teenage pregnancy/parenthood.
KUiA is a slow burn, a warm, beautiful, fun read, 4,5 stars.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Knocked Up in Alaska by Samanthe Beck from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I felt this was a solid novel and I found it to be well written. The plot was engaging and the pacing moved swiftly. I appreciated how nicely crafted the main characters were, and laughed at the antics of the secondary characters.

This novel was a bit predictable, but was a quick, fun read.

Man, this was a slow burn. Ford is an amazing man. Lilah and Ford are so perfect together! This was a perfect read!

Ford and Lilah, I have been waiting to read your story since the first Alaska book with Trace and Izzy.
Ford starts by establishing himself as a steady, reliable refuge from Lilah’s problems. He’s pretty certain why he can’t get involved with her though — age, pregnancy, family, past. A long list of reasons to avoid any relationship. And yet he lets himself be there for her just the same. Lilah’s in a tough position. She’s pregnant at a young age like her mother once was, a stab in the guts to her mom who has done everything she can to shelter Lilah from such a risk.
What surprised me with this book was Ford’s story. Usually I’m most interested to read from the woman’s perspective, but this book had such a developed storyline for the male character too, and it was the one that had me pretty invested. He was the character I felt we really saw growth from in his personal life.
Lilah seems mature beyond her age, which I suppose comes with getting pregnant so young. I was surprised we didn’t hear more struggles about her having her first child, such as dealing with tantrums or being overwhelmed and the like. She had a really strong support system with people who wanted to be involved.
Overall a great book. Of course I loved to see snippets from previous couples and continuation of side character stories. And this story had the typical sweet and funny moments of a Samanthe Beck book that keeps a smile on your face as you read. I look forward to whatever she comes out with next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Knocked Up in Alaska is the third book in the Captivity Alaska series by @samanthebeck and it follows Lilah journey as she navigates becoming a single mother. Coming to terms with her situation Lilah, realizes the support system she has can surprise her with their generosity especially Ford. Ford owns The Wild Goose and gives Lilah a job and a temporary place to stay with no strings attached.

Ford has admired Lilah for quite sometime but knows he can never go there because of their age difference and his past. Slowly overtime, Lilah and Ford became much more to each other than just friends- they become the unwavering strength and support they need and carve while starting to fall in love. But is that love enough to hold onto or something to set free?

Lilah had so much personal growth in her story; not only did she become a mother but she also learned what she needed to thrive in order to have the life she wants and desires. Ford plays everything close to the chest but once you make it into the inner circle it’s impossible not to leave a mark. The slow growth of their relationship suited them so well and their connection was just what they both needed.

Thank you @samanthebeck , @entangled_publishing , @greyspromo & @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for an e-ARC of this book to read and review!
I was so glad to go back to Captivity. These three girls and their stories have my whole heart. I love that there were similar occurrences across all three books and I really enjoyed Lilah and Ford's installment. Lilah is a great main character, her self assurance and love for others is magnificent and I love that she still had room to grow and heal. Samanthe Beck does a really great job at addressing grief and guilt whether it's for death or expressed for something else. Both Ford and Lilah had things to deal with and adapt to and I liked seeing them rely more on each other for that. The cameos were great and I feel like everyone was really involved in this book. I was genuinely laughing at points and the sass and snark is top notch. I'm fully obsessed with this series and I love these characters so much!

One of my favorite tropes is the surprising pregnancy. I enjoyed this romance for many reasons. I love the protectiveness of Ford and the innocence of Lilah. Every once in and while we need a story that this wholesome and cute.

Lilah is pregnant and lost. One moment of rebellion has landed her in this position. She has a great support system but she doesn't feel supported as she should.

she needs to grow up quickly and Ford seems to be the best person to lean on.

I loved the supporting characters - they made a funny backstory. I had a great time reading this story
