Lilah is in pretty much the worst spot- pregnant with the father having passed away and a mother who’s abandoned her. In comes Ford who’s always had his eyes on her and wants nothing more than to help her, especially when she’s at her lowest. Ford has a surprise of his own that helps him understand Lilah’s plight. Overall, it was a good read, not great. It drags a bit and the 3rd person got confusing at parts.
Steam was low, drama was low so it’s a nice pallet cleanser.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGally for the early opportunity to read “Knocked Up In Alaska.” This was an enjoyable read with a interesting twist on the surprise baby trope. The romance is well done and secondary characters are fun and interesting. This is the third book in the series but it works well as a stand alone. I enjoy books set in Alaska and will definitely be checking out the first two books that I missed. Overall, I enjoyed and would recommend this book!
I couldn’t really get into this one. I did finish it by skipping whole chapters at a time though. To be fair, I have not read the previous stories in this series and that could be why I felt a little lost - especially in the beginning.
Lilah is pregnant with a child who's father passed away in a tragic accident and add on that her mother has disowned her, she's having to forge her own path forward. Thankfully in Captivity, Alaska everyone is there to help and front of the line is the older, sexy bartender Ford. He's had his eye set on her for longer than he thinks he should and when he witnesses Lilah and her mother's fight he is the first to step in for her. It turns out that he can relate closer to Lilah's situation than anyone knew, given that he had a daughter at 17 who lives with her mother and has her own life. He wants better for Lilah, for her to have the life with her daughter that he never did. He's a great support for both of them and when an opportunity arises to meet and raise his own daughter it's an opportunity he can't pass up. These two both are navigating parenthood as single parents and learning that newborns and teenagers both have their challenges. Through all of this their attraction sizzles and they find their new groove as parents and lovers. I love the strength and development of Lilah and Ford throughout. This is a wonderful story that melted my heart.
