Beautiful, enjoyable read. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy. This was a wonderful book.

In a masterfully fresh way, Steven Scott revisits the classic story of Joseph illuminating the relatable and transferable principles to help the reader through the difficult journey of life. Each of the 13 chapters unfolds another perspective that both challenges and encourages the reader to look up and move forward. The section on grief was personally helpful. I found the vision mapping concept very insightful and worthy of implementation.

I have posted the 12 principles above my desk as a constant reminder:
#1 Seeing How Every Trial Produces Hidden Treasures
#2 Knowing and Experiencing the Intimate Presence of God
#3 Believing That God Is Sovereign and Loving and Living That Belief
#4 Living in the Moment with God and Others
#5 Listening to the Whispers of God
#6 Expecting God to Work His Miracles Through Your Faith
#7 Forgiving Others Because God Forgives Us
#8 Accelerating Achievement with a Vision, a Plan, and a Schedule
#9 Allowing One Vision to Die So a Better Vision May Be Born
#10 Dethroning Grief from God’s Throne in Your Heart
#11 Gaining a True Vision of the True God
#12 Yielding Your Perceived Rights to God

Thank you, Netgalley and the author/publisher, for the opportunity to read (listen to) and review an advanced reader's copy of this book. This in no way affects my review, all opinions are my own.

I read this book in back in August but didn't get the chance to review it sooner. Better late than never, I guess ;-)
This book was a great read! At the time, I was making my way through Genesis. So, this book came just in time for me to add more study notes. While I believe that the author put a tad bit much of his own opinion (not explicitly described in the Bible) about Joseph's struggles in the book, I believe he was definitely on the right track given all the things Joseph overcame by being obedient. I'm sure he struggled just as much as every other believer but he still obeyed and overcame. Definitely worth a read!

Steven Scott takes the very familiar story of Joseph and gleans a dozen life applications, principles for us today. There is a great chapter on grief - because like it or not we will all experience it and already have. The chapter on vision mapping is both challenging and encouraging - especially if, like most today, we haven't thought lately about what our vision is. Remember, as a take away, no matter what you are going through, just like Joseph, God has a master plan, something much bigger than you know and a plan that may take a while for you to see. This book was advanced to me through NetGalley and the publisher without any commitment for positive feedback.

The Joseph Principles by Steven K. Scott arrived at a most divinely appointed time for me. Each of the Principles helped me see my recent challenges and trials in a new and healthier way. The Principles build upon each other until, by the end of the book, wisdom and action steps are combined for great opportunities to receive new understanding and greater faith. I really found Scott's anecdotal evidence powerful. Emeshed in Joseph's story are contemporary lessons, such as how our "rights" impede God's work in our lives. The author challenges us to meet circumstances in an attitude of "What does Jesus say about this"?
This book landed in my hands in exchange for an honest review. I just finished the book. It is not a quick read. Like rich food, the content takes a while to digest. I now plan to review my notes and highlights and study them. #TheJosephPrinciples
