I devoured this book and I went through an extremely wide range of emotions when it came to Lily and Loren. Look, managing addiction is not easy and you're going to have to start their journey as it is. It's so easy for us, the readers, to be frustrated because, in our minds, it's a simple solution. With addiction, it's not an easy journey for anyone and now we have more books to get through, I was terrified to see what they'd go through separately and together.

Having read this book previously, I loved the extra content! The updated editions will be well worth it.

I can definitely see what all the hype is about this series after reading this book although this is the first book in this series but I do plan to continue it this book was very emotional it’s full of pain and heartache it’s about to people who suffer from addiction both addictions are different but it’s still addiction all the same this was very interesting to me having never read anything quite like it I liked both characters although some of their actions were a little excessive but I did enjoy it. On to the next book in this series for me ! Hopefully these two get there happily ever after.

Addiction is a brutal mistress… She is addicted to sex and he is addicted to alcohol. There are so many ways this can go wrong with co-dependence and their individual addictions.

This one did fake dating so well and I loved the twist that it was to hide their secrets and not to put on a front with family or coworkers of having someone like so many fake dating tropes are done.

You will have to check this one out to see if their addictive personalities and their secrets will tear apart or bring together Lily and Loren.

I didn’t read Addicted to You when it came out years ago, I’ve always been a little hesitant because I thought it’d be an angsty read. A romance between a sex addict and an alcoholic sounded like a train wreck to me, but the story was compelling and addictive! I never really knew or understood a sex addiction, but Lily’s story sheds light into the pain and need. Lo’s alcoholism was worrisome, too, and I was glued to the pages as they go from faking their relationship to cover for each other to the real deal and what they're going to do about their addictions. I really like the side characters, like Lily’s sister Rose, Connor, and Ryke.

Years ago, I loved those romances that spanned over several books, but now I’m much more of a one-book-and-done kind of romance reader. I don’t like conflict spanning several books but I’m eager to continue Lily and Lo’s story! There’s a lot going on, more than just a romance with things left open at the end, which is why I’ve already started on the next one!

Addicted to You was just re-released with additional material at the end, a chapter from Lo’s POV and some of their text messaging. If you haven’t read the series yet, I recommend giving it a go!

WOW! I had no idea what I was getting myself into with this book but this was one of the most unique storylines I've ever read in a romance novel. Lily and Lo are so relatable to many people and I think that's very important to have within a storyline. I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait to see where this story goes. Will be recommending this one to my friends! 5 stars!

I read Addicted to You before and my love for Lily and Lo is still strong. The struggles that they both went through to get to the other side...while not fully on the other side, but getting there. I stand by needing more of Lo's POV through this book. The bonus chapter was so refreshing to see his thoughts during the time when he decided he needed help.

5/5

I’ve seen this book floating around for years so when I saw Berkley was rereleasing it, I figured it was the perfect time to finally read it. I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding both this book and the entire series and while I can sorta see where people are coming from, I also kind of don’t get it either. There were things I liked, for sure. It was just as addictive as everyone said and it was a whole lot like watching a train wreck but it gave me the same type of feelings I would have if I was watching an actual train wreck. It was hard to watch two such self destructive characters make awful decisions over and over again and it didn’t help that they were both very unlikable. Their relationship is the very definition of toxic and while I don’t usually mind that, I also don’t need a whole book focusing on it either. There was something entertaining here and I liked the authors style, but overall I’m not sure if there was enough here for me to like. Especially unsure if I will continue this series.

MMM YA THIS WAS A SLAY i've heard so much about this one and i wanted to read it for five ever and i was ...addicted... but no fr i really enjoyed this. i think what kept me from a five star read is that the writing was a little immature sometimes and the scenes were pretty outlandish like idk sometimes i was like what in the wattpad but also in a good way?? i was also surprised by how quickly loren confessed his love to lily and how quickly they just said they loved each other. like it makes sense bc they've been besties, but when he said i love you and lily was like i love u too i was like no preamble??? two weeks dating???

but i really felt the emotion of all of this and felt the pain lily was going through. i was devastated by the end but im really rooting for these two and I'm so excited to read the rest of the series!

I’ve had this series on my radar for a while- its ravenous consumed by the booktok hoards, on the top of everyone’s recommendations, and seems to somehow be in every corner of the bookworld. I’ve not read these co-authors before either- and they have so many amazing series that are so well loved.

The premise of this is both compelling and, well, anxiety inducing. Two best friends, fake dating and roommates, both struggling with consuming addictions. Our heroine Lily is a sex addict- and Lo is a complicated alcholic. An interesting contrast, two addictions juxtaposed. But make no mistake- while their vices might be different, they are both addicts. And because of the intersection of their addiction and mistruth, they enable each other in very damaging ways.

Don’t let the cutesy cover fool you- this isn’t a feel good story. Not yet. Going into this story, and also knowing that it is a series, I knew that the first book wouldn’t be the happiest of stories. Addiction stories never are- and these two have a long way to go into their HEA. More so, the authors establish these characters, delve deep into their addictions, and situate the impact of their addiction not only on themselves but on each other, and the world they inhabit. Not only are they trying to camouflage their destructive habits, but they are also trying to maintain the rouse of their fake relationship. It’s immersive, toxic, and well, repetitive. But that’s the POINT- addiction isn’t a linear path, it’s a cyclical groundhog day- a never ending cycle of intentions and thirst. And we see it- experience it- live it. It makes the story immersive, even if it’s not pleasant. This is on the first glimpse into the complexity of these characters and their issues.

They’ve found a little safety net with one another that helps them manipulate and deceive those around them- and themselves. Under the guise of protecting each other, they routinely harm one another by enabling the other to fall more into their own addiction. To fall prey to their own vices. The story is told from Lily’s POV, and I do wish we’d had Lo’s. And being in Lily’s head isn’t always a pleasant experience- like many addicts, she’s in a lot of pain, and she’s systematically self-destructing. The only thing sustaining her is her toxic co-dependence on Lo.

Keep in mind this is a series, so I care about these characters, but I didn’t necessarily “enjoy” their first book. This is the kind of series that takes a lot of angst and pain to get to the happy- or at least it seems that way. Like that rocky, painful first step to healing, this first book is painful, but makes me curious about where they’ll go and just how they’ll find power over the addiction..

I have been a blogger for over 7 years and I have heard people rave about this series. But, I avoided it. I have a family member who suffers with addiction and I know that two addicts together is a bad idea. I wasn't sure I could read this book and put my personal feelings and experiences to the side. So, I never read it. But, I'm in a different place in my life and I felt like I could read this book with more of an open mind.

Addicted to You is exactly the type of angsty read it sounds like. Our main characters are tacking big problems and that is present throughout the story. The chemistry between them is real but that doesn't magically make things easier. They have to fight for everything. Let me say I am super glad I waited until the entire series was finished because the ending to this is a doozy!

If you want a messy, angsty, heartbreaking story, Addicted to You needs to be on your must read list. But, it is not an "easy" read and you will be a little broken.

You guys. I really, really tried to like this one. But I failed miserably. When I got approved to read Addicted To You, I got really excited because I would *finally* get to know what all the hype was about. But urgh. This book is so not for me. 😭 (and I am so sad about that!!!) DNF'd the book at 25 percent. 🥺 I just got out of a reading slump ~ so I am just not going to force myself to finish a story that wasn't enjoyable at all.

Lo and Lily's relationship felt so toxic to me. Lily's behaviour was really frustrating ~ her selfish attitude really got on my nerves. I waited, and waited to warm up to her. But that never happened.

I am hoping to pick up the Calloway Sister series though - I heard that the sister series to Addicted is better! I really, really hope that I will enjoy those books better. *fingers crossed*

I love when Tik Tok and Bookstagram reintroduces you to older books. That was the case with this one. Two addictions, one for alcohol and the other for sex, plague Lily and Loren. They made a plan to fake a relationship to cover for each other but soon they realize their feelings were real all along.
.
Their addictions try to tear them down and pull them away from each other but it’s time to face their fears. This was a super quick read and a very wild ride. Thank you @angiearoundwonderland and @daniiireads for taking this ride with me.

Thank you @berkleypub for including me on this book tour.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author duo, and I was so excited to get the chance. I have to say I was upset I waited so long, because this book was absolutely worth the hype. This book was executed so well, when it had the potential to not. I almost expected the book to just be pure smut, but wasn’t pleasantly surprised by the whole plot.

We have a book full of tropes, fake dating being the most prominent, with a great forced proximity scene. I instantly loved how flawed Lily and Loren were. Both had such addictive personalities it made the book that much more interesting.

I love the way everything wrapped up, maybe not in a perfect bow. I cannot wait to get to continue on with the series or multiple series I believe, I need to check the order in which to read them. These authors have such a great writing style, I will be reading everything by them now.

I've heard plenty about this series so when the publisher sent me a galley I had to give it a try.
This story is very different from your typical romance. This is about two friends who pretend to date but are actually enabling the other's addictions. This can be a very dark book and I would recommend looking up triggers before diving in blind.
If you love Rue and Jules in Euphoria this is the book for you. It has the friends to lovers element while also having that under layer of enabling and dependency. These two are not always likeable characters because of the selfishness (due to their addictions mostly) and the way they treat each other. It made it hard to root for the characters sometimes and I kept wondering how it was going to end. It was just so messy majority of the book.
This is a difficult book that is not for the faint of heart. I would need to take breaks reading this sometimes.
Overall this wasn't a bad book, but I won't be rereading it anytime soon.

I am so grateful to Berkley for the ARC of this book. The Addicted/Calloway sisters series quickly became a favorite of mine after reading Addicted to You last December, and getting to reread the traditionally published version and experience my favorite characters again (with bonus content!) was so special. I absolutely love this series so much, it's worth the 10 book commitment!

Addicted to You by Krista Ritchie; Becca Ritchie is the first book in their very popular Addicted series. This is a re-release by the publisher with additional bonus material. As I didn’t read it when it was first released back in 2014, I was excited to get a chance to read this bestseller. And I’m so very glad I did!

Lilly is a sex addict and Loren is an alcoholic, and they are hiding their addictions from their families, friends, and the world. Best friends since childhood, they are now in a fake relationship so they can both hide their addictions and continue to fool everyone into thinking they are normal college students.

Addicted to your is raw, intense, and difficult to read at times. These two characters are addicts, and it’s not a happy story at all. This is an angsty, intense story of love and addiction, but also compelling and realistic. I thought Lilly’s story was more compelling for me, as I haven’t read many books about a sex addict and it was so interesting as well as heartbreaking for me to see inside her life of compulsion.

On the surface, both these characters appear to be selfish and self-absorbed, but that’s addiction, isn’t it? The way their addictions dictate their behavior towards each other, their friends, and their family is portrayed in a very heartbreaking and yet also very realistic way. Both these characters tore at my heart as they were ruining their lives and their relationships with their addictions.

The codependency of these characters is also heartbreaking. They need each other in order to continue with their addictions, but when their addictions start to tear open their relationships with each other, we wonder what will happen to their love for each other.

I highly recommend Addicted to You to anyone who enjoys women’s fiction.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

TW: alcoholism, slut shaming, sexual assault (on page), emotionally distant parents, mentions of: grooming, sex with a minor (off book, in passing), and others I may have missed

Actual - 3.5

I completely understand the hype around this series; this book really was gossip girl meets euphoria and I appreciated the dynamic of the friend group.

I think lily and lo’s relationship was toxic, chaotic, yet at its core very heartwarming. These are two best friends who pretend to date so their family and friends won’t catch on to their addictions: his drinking and her sexual activities.

The pair of them really did fuel each other’s addictions. Their purpose of getting together was so that they could control it, but it really shows how out of control they both got, despite caring for each other.

For me, it really bothered me that neither of them were doing anything to overcome it - I completely understand addictions take over you and at times you don’t want to better yourself, and while I did feel for them navigating their additions, I couldn’t feel bad for them entirely. They both had a significant amount of resources ($$$$) so when the conversations about attempting to get better would arise I found myself annoyed.

I enjoyed the found family towards the middle of this book - Rose, Connor, and Ryle were great additions and I really am interested to see how the next book will play out with how this one ended.

I totally get the appeal for this series - here’s hoping I don’t also become addicted lol

Thank you to NetGalley for this ecopy, I am voluntarily leaving this review

“I want to live here. In his arms. Where I know it's safe.”

I am ADDICTED to this book. It honestly made me cry like a babbling baby. I really loved how it gave this vibe of "this is not a big deal" at the beginning, but once you dive deeper into the story you dive deeper into Lily and Lo’s addictions and their love. I love the found family vibe of this story and how these two people who grew up together and found solace in one another, have to open up and sort of rely on others outside of themselves. They’ve depended on each other for so long and while that has built their love, it has also built a habit of toxic enabling as well, so them navigating to healthier is difficult to read, but also beautiful.

All in all a great love story and a great story about how love only adds to dependency and enabling in addictions. I cried with Lily when she wanted Lo to get help but didn't know how to help without continuing her own spiral. She was blinded by her love. Not that it's a good thing but it is refreshing to see some compassion for what addicts and their enablers go through.

The bonus content was great. I admittedly read this book years ago, but rereading and seeing the start of this love story through Lily’s eyes from the start and then getting a small glimpse from Lo’s POV in the bonus content was perfection. It was hard to read, but also beautiful because seeing another perspective of that made it that much more impactful. The bonus texts were a fun addition. It’s interesting because an outsider reading those texts without context wouldn’t know what they truly are revealing.

Years ago I started reading a book called Kiss the Sky and instantly I had become obsessed with the lives of the Calloway Sisters. I have since read all of the family members books except I never read what actually started it all- Addicted To You. I am so glad these books are being traditionally published. Krista and Becca Ritchie deserve all of their success.

Addicted to You is the story of Lily and Lo who are both dealing with addictions, but different kinds. I loved these two so much and since I only read about them when they were established couple it was nice to to back to their beginning. I highly recommend this entire series!

I know this book series is super popular right now, especially on BookTok but I just could NOT get into it. I gave myself to the 10% mark to see if my feelings changed at all, but they didn't so I ultimately ended up DNFing this one. The writing wasn't all that great, and I found myself cringing at almost everything these characters thought and did. I'm all for smutty, dark books, but this just seemed like toxic people in a toxic relationship for absolutely no reason. Lily is constantly reminding us that she's a sex addict, and so that means she also can't function like a normal human being at any point (literally she forgets to eat because she's thinking about sex all the time) and I just don't think that's how that works? And she's also constantly talking about how she's skin and bones because she burns so many calories from all the sex she has. I did want to like this because it's so popular, but clearly this just isn't for me.
