It took me a little while to wrap my brain around what was happening in this book, which might sound like a bad thing, btu I think given the context and the genre, made sense. I'd describe this book using a multitude of different suprilatives - Weird, crazy, fun, fast pased, wild, rollar coaster, exciting. It's been sadi before, but this book feels like a Lovecraftian Sci-fi novel.
This book had everything! Kept me turning the pages until I got to the end and realzied that it was over.
I look forward to the next installment. This is a DEFINITE read if you are a sci-fi fan of wild rides and weirdness.
If you like Doctor Who, you'll love this book!

Such rich world building and so poor character depth. I absolutely loved the sci fi part of the book, the tech of it was amazing. Unfortunately I didn't care for the characters. Should they live or die, it would make no difference to me. At times battles just drag long enough to make them boring. One of Michael Bishop's team first encounter turns into a repetitive thing. Monsters dying and spawning slithery things, over and over again, with no end in sight. I'm ashamed to say that at some point I just lost interest, all I wanted to do was to finish the thing.
