"Under the Starry Skies" is a Christian romance set in 1916 in New Mexico. Historical details were woven into the story which gave it a feeling of a distinct time and place. The main characters were likable, complex, and reacted realistically to events.

Cassie was a sweet lady who encouraged others, but her younger sister wanted nothing to do with her after being sent away by their father when she was young. Brandon had an abusive father and left home shortly after he died, burdened with guilt. He encouraged Cassie and helped look after her since her family was dead or estranged. Even though they cared for each other, Brandon didn't want to get married due to his guilt and felt he needed to bear the consequences of his past actions.

The Christian element was about how God can forgive actions that people might think are unforgivable and how God can bring about reconciliation. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable romance.

Another Wonderful Love Story along the Santa Fe…

I love stories with strong women like Cassie seems to be. She does have her moments. I really enjoyed this book and budding romance that bloomed between her and Brandon. The conclusion of the book was perfect!

I thought I’d make a disclaimer. This book as with the others in the Love on the Santa Fe series can be read out of order in my opinion. There really isn’t any exchange of characters or storyline they are all just based on places “On the Santa Fe”

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.

UNDER THE STARRY SKIES is the third novel in the Love on the Santa Fe series by TRACIE PETERSON.. As is the case with all this author’s books, there is a strong Christian message running through it with relevant scriptures, which I really love. The plot is exciting and the characters are unforgettable. I particularly like the way we are taken into Cassie and Brandon’s emotions and see how they deal with past fears and guilt, and the very real fear of the future, with faith in God.
Starting in 1916, with WW1 in full swing and with the Santa Fe railway lines in New Mexico being sabotaged, Brandon is on the alert, especially when Cyrus McCutchen, the man he suspects of being responsible for Cassie’s father’s death, comes back on the scene.
Family dynamics, the lust for revenge, pride and broken relationships are some of the subjects that are addressed, as opposed to unconditional love, resposiilbility, friendship and godly living.
I cannot recommend Under the Starry Skies highly enough to anyone who enjoys inspirational historical romance.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

This book was a generally good read. I liked the characters, and I liked the plot. It was a clean, Christian romance. I especially like the historical feel.

However, the story seemed to wrap up too easily at the end, specifically with the romance. There was a conflict and tension which was keeping them separate, and the breaking of the conflict and tension happened very easily and quickly. Would have liked to see more development there.

A good read for anyone looking for a good summer read!

This book, by one of my favorite authors, was sent to me by Netgalley for review. It is some of the better historical fiction as this is a talented and gifted author…. The characters are likable and they change…the setting is intriguing with historical facts included…love and romance…family and friends…church members helping their fellow members…caring about others…surprises…grab a cup of steaming herbal tea, a warm cozy Afghan, and enjoy this quick read…

I swoon hard over this story!
Under the Starry Skies tells a story about a seamstress named Cassie who finds herself unwed in her 30s because of the selflessness she devoted to her family in her younger years.

Enter Brandon, a long-time acquaintance who feels responsible when a little mishap leaves Cassie unable to work.

I'll spare the details so I don't spoil anything, but I love the sweet chemistry these two have over the course of the story. I love the small-town vibes in the book, and the relationships with every character.

If you love historical romance, I believe you will enjoy this book!

*In exchange for a copy of this book, I was asked to provide and honest review. All opinions stated above are my own.*

The third book in the 'Love on the Santa Fe', this book was a good read. I enjoyed the characters and the misconceptions that they had either about themselves or the relationships they had. I thought that the plot was a solid one and laid out why the villain did what he did in a plausible way.

I got this free in exchange for a honest review. It's one that I'm happy to recommend on to others and will be buying for my library. Readers who like historical fiction will enjoy this book.
