This one just wasn't it for me. It touches on a bunch of difficult topics and I just couldn't get behind how they were handled. It was relatively easy to know who was behind everything, and the justification of the actions just isn't there for me. Also, I really didn't like any of the characters, I felt them to be annoying and frustrating, which lead me not to really care what happened to any of them. Disappointing, as I usually love a good YA thriller/horror/mystery. Cool cover though.

I enjoyed this read, super short book. It kept me wondering what was happening and why. I found a few characters a bit annoying but other than that it was interesting to see the different characters and how they were during this crazy storyline. I loved how the story built along the way. The ending shocked me!

Suspense/thriller books are not my typical reads, but something about No Accident really intrigued me. And I am so glad I picked this one up, because I ended up really enjoying it! The book plops you right into the action doesn't really let up the entire time, the suspense was handled fantastically and I loved all the twists and turns. The characters are well rounded and developed really well as the story progresses. The ending was really well done, and while murder is never justified (obviously), I really appreciated the reveal in the end. This one has me contemplating stepping out of my comfort zone a bit more and checking out a few more suspense reads!

Don't read this on a plane... a good YA thriller, which is such an underrated genre - this could be better written but the storyline/premise are great and for younger readers, it's probably a great choice!

Surviving a plane crash is just half the battle in this young adult mystery novel.
The first 80% of the book focuses on the survival aspects of teens after a plane crash ending up on a deserted Island with a few almost deadly "mishaps" occuring. I really enjoyed the concept of this and the intrigue.
The last 20% did a complete 180. It was no longer a mystery but just a very heavy handed discussion on bullying and how young women are treated by men. While I think this is important I do think the author just went completely overboard. It distracted from the rest of the book. I do think this would be a good read for it's target audience. I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This book had the potential to be an incredibly entertaining story. Unfortunately for me, it was not it. I couldn't get into it as the characters were just unbearable. Don't let this keep you from trying, everyone has different tastes.

Conventions say that within every group, there is a leader and followers. Convention doesn't say how the leader will be chosen and if the followers will follow blindly. When their airplane is forced down, this group of high school teens will either figure it out quickly or die trying. They must put aside any hard feelings or petty emotions just to survive. But can they? Will they? What happens just may be a surprise.

I think this is an important book that everyone needs to read. It covers some heavy but necessary topics and it leaves you as the reader wondering who was really to blame and who was really right in the end.
I loved the writing in this book, the dialogue felt very natural and there were some lovely images told. However, I found myself wanting more. I wanted a few things to be more drawn out and it seemed we moved on from some big injuries rather quickly. Additionally I wish the *mystery person* had done something a little more dangerous, even by accident, just to really push home the feeling of guilt within the group.
overall I really enjoyed it and it's one that will definitely stick in my brain for a while.

This book was so slow. I understand some stories take time but I didn’t feel pulled in at all. I was disappointed because I was so interested in this book premise.

I don’t think I’ve read a book that felt this performative. There’s a time and place for a book to discuss sexual assault and this setting was not it.

This survivalist story is one of revenge and betrayal. This is a quick read that pulled me in and kept me interested throughout. I enjoyed how it dove into the power dynamics between men and women and how trust is tested. This is the perfect read for the summer. Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for my copy.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought it would be a 3 star read for at least a quarter of it, but I appreciated the twist and the message of the story. It uses a thriller/mystery to discuss a really serious topic and it's not commonly done that way.

No Accident shares a good message but overall the story falls flat. It’s a slow, slow, SLOW start and the chapters are way too long. The first bit of action starts around page 105 and the rest is far and few between. The characters don’t really get any kind of redemption and the writing style is pretty juvenile, even though some non-juvenile things are being said and talked about.

As someone who loved Lord of the Flies, the premise of this book seemed similar and I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it just didn't meet my expectations. It was okay - but the pacing was weird and I found it hard to focus on the actual storyline.

I LOVED this book. To me, this was like a modern day “Lord of the Flies.” A plane crashes with some of the most popular kids in high school leaving the survivors stranded on a deserted island. What quickly becomes a fight for survival, the group quickly bands together to come up with resources and plans to survive until help comes.

Soon enough, weird “accidents” start occurring. Someone eats something poisonous, someone gets hurts, and it’s clear someone on the island is out to get them. Either they’re not alone, or one of them is targeting the group.

But is it JUST the plane crash that has everyone acting off? Or, did something happen before the crash that lead to these traumatic events?

I had to sit with this one for a LONG time because this was such a POWERFUL story. I had chills to the end and it really hit me where it hurts.

Read this, you won’t regret it.

I found this one to be just ok. It was a little far fetch for my taste. I almost DNF. Im sorry to say but it wasn't one of my favorites.

It was suppose to be a fun trip for high schoolers but turned into Survivor. While this book touches on current and pressing themes the execution was greatly lacking. Through the spotty gossip telephone style of explanation to inserting the reason for the murders. I would have liked more fluidity between the underlying themes and the actual plot. The mystery and explanation seemed to just be glued together instead of weaved together.

Oh, this was a compelling read! I enjoyed her other book, but I enjoyed this one more, with the thriller element that they crashed on this deserted island, and that something seems to be targeting them. I just wanted to know what was going on!

This was a really fast paced read, and a lot happens in a short amount of time while they try to survive. The mystery of what was going on and why, I needed to know! It was hard to know who to trust, because while they're in this dangerous situation, some truths are kept secret for a reason, no matter how bad.

The night before they left on the plane, there was a party. Something happened at that part, that is caused all these incidents now on the island. Finding out what happened out though? That's going to be difficult, because it's football players and cheerleaders, and football players get away with a lot of harm.

I really enjoyed watching everything play out, though it was pretty infuriating! When we finally got the truth, it was pretty satisfying to finally get it out there. Gender equality should be a thing, and sexual assault should not, and the events in this book are a big reason why.

I had a great time reading this book and I can't wait to read more by Laura Bates!

I'm not so sure about this one. In part, I think the survival situation forcing teens to reveal huge secrets trope is pretty played out. And the accident that starts out this situation is strange and inexplicable. It felt nefarious in a ay that didn't come to fruition. With all the secret keeping and big reveals, the ultimate conclusion is rather a let down.
