I knew this was a novella but at 32 pages this can be called a short story. It essentially takes place on the afternoon of a couple's wedding day. Maria was married before and after properly mourning her rake of a husband she has given up her title to marry a country lawyer Frederick. With such a short story kudos to the author for getting in a bit of back story for both and even a brief point of conflict before they consummate the marriage. The writing is fine but there isn't enough to comment more. Thank you to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
It's difficult to say much of value about something this short, especially when the majority is ~steamy~ rather than providing plot, but there actually is a plot! And that's impressive.
