Creep is a creepy, stalker novel of obsession. Think You for teens. Creep follows Rafi who is obsessed with a couple in school. She watches them, follows them, and inserts herself into their lives. She is completely obsessed to the point where she will do anything to keep the couple together. The writing is chilling and entertaining. The story is well-written and original. Highly recommended! It took me a few chapters to get into the voice of Rafi, the main character and narrator of the story. But I'm glad I stuck with it because once I felt fully immersed in the world of Holy Family High School this book was a (creepy) delight! Penaflor nails the tone and complex emotional backstory of her main character, and the supporting characters are wonderful as well--lots of showing without telling and thoughtful plot twists that push the story along. A fresh take on YA lit. I will definitely look for future titles from this author.

I was not a huge fan of this book. I found the narrator, main character, to be thoroughly unlikeable. Maybe that was the point since she is a stalker and clearly mentally unwell but instead of feeling a sense of understanding I was just left with annoyance and disinterest. I felt it was too long and the thread that would have held it together, her parents own situation, wasn’t fully explored enough.

CREEP is dark story about a teen girl who is obsessed with the relationship between two popular students. I picked up this story specifically because the premise is unsettling and I am always on the hunt for dark (but appropriate) YA. CREEP satisfies the itch teen readers have for an unconventional story. The only reason this isn't a 4-star read is because, despite it's exciting subject matter, it dragged in places and the ending felt unsatisfactory.

Creepy, suspenseful, thrilling, entertaining and delightful.

What a creepy, delicious book! The author writes in first person as Rafi, the creep of the title. Rafi is a sophomore obsessed with the senior golden couple, Laney and Nico. She works her way into their circle with heartbreaking consequences. The tone and voice of the novel is masterful as Rafi grows increasingly obsessed and crosses more and more lines. As more of her own past is revealed, the reader will feel empathy towards Rafi while simultaneously cringing and wishing she would stop. Great, dark read!

I was really excited about this one! It sounded weird and different. I was expecting You but for teens. It was just a close attempt that didn’t quite make it. The story wasn’t quite fleshed out. Like her old teacher and why she wasn’t friends with her one friend anymore. It was just a lot of her thinking she was making a good choice, but she was being a creep. It was kind of creepy, but it was also a letdown. I wanted some majorly creepy vibes and more insight into this couple. It wasn’t quite there. Two stars because of how the ending was so random to me.

This book is incredibly unnerving in its portrayal of an obsessive teenager who stalks her classmates. It has an exquisite example of an unreliable narrator. At times, the plot develops too slowly, but it just adds to the anticipation.

Creep is just as the title says. It's creepy and obsessive, yet I couldn't help but want to keep reading to see how it all played out. This is perfect for fans of 'You'!

Rafi is a teenage girl obsessed with her high school's 'It Couple'. The story is told from her perspective as she finds ways to get closer to the couple, Laney and Nico. This is more than just wanting to fit in for Rafi. She wants to feel love and belonging.

As I was reading, I kept thinking how eerily fascinating this book is. The writing is so engaging and creepy. It's a combo that few get right. And Lygia Day Peñaflor really hit it out of the park.

I think what was so interesting about this book was seeing the love story play out. Laney and Nico are high school sweethearts who I would root for too. They have their ups and downs but deep down you know that they are going to make it. That is one of the reasons that Rafi is so drawn to them. As she starts weaving her way into their lives, her obsession continues to grow. Rafi is such a complex character because as you understand some of her reasoning behind her choices you almost feel a bit empathetic. And then she does something that makes you think 'Oh this is crossing the line.' For me, I was constantly changing from feeling for her and thinking she was way passed obsession.

I give Creep 5 stars. It is a read that is a must-read for fans of the show and book 'You'. It gives off so many Joe Goldberg vibes. It's an intriguing read that I couldn't put down! The unexpected choices of the main character Rafi make everything so suspenseful. The author did a fantastic job of sucking you in and bringing you into this world of a teenage stalker.

This is a novel of obsession. The main character is delusional and caught up in her fantasies of living vicariously through the love story of a couple she has brief interactions with. It's chilling and well written and getting inside of Rafi's head is terrifying, I wish some parts were more flushed out and explained(the stuff with her teacher and former friend), but I enjoyed this book.

This book gives off full stalker vibes. Rafi invades a young couples space and becomes their friend but she is not too happy when the young couple is on the outs.
