One of the things that I love about Meghan Quinn are how interconnected her books are. There's always a connection somewhere. So when we first got a teaser of Sawyer and Fallon in one of the Cane Brothers books, I was excited for this book. It was very classic Quinn. Simple characters, simple plot, easy and quick to read. A fun read, but I think I'm just bored of Quinn's writing. It's no longer brining me the joy it once did. But I know that other readers are going to love this book.
This is a classic Meghan Quinn packed with heartfelt humor and swoon-worthy romance. Good plot but execution left a bit to be desired. 3.5 rounded up.
I liked the idea of this book but the execution was lacking and I found the characters annoying. Others may like it but this just really wasn't for me.
This had Meghan Quinn’s typical humor and swoon. The pacing was great and the characters are likable. Meghan Quinn fans will love this as much as her others.
Hilarious!!!!!Great book. I enjoyed Reading it. The characters and plot were interesting life like and easy to connect with.
I love Meghan Quinn’s books and this was no different! I have been glued to all of them. I love the romance and how they make me laugh out loud. They are the perfect easy reads.
Unfortunately I had to DNF this book, it didn’t quite hit the spot nor have Meghan Quinn’s usual charm
This book wasn’t quite what I was expecting, while the romance was sweet what I really enjoyed was seeing the friendship blossom between our hero Sawyer and the heroine’s grandfather Sully 🤍
This was definitely more of a slow burn romance, Sawyer & Fallon had minimal interactions in the first 45% of the book and while that sounds counterintuitive for a romance book I actually loved seeing the two main characters as individuals. We got to learn a lot about their characters, what a selfless granddaughter Fallon was, what a huge heart Sawyer had. I cannot stress enough how much love I have for this man! I felt like the romance wasn’t at the forefront of this story and was pleasantly surprised by how little that bothered me. As I said, Sawyer’s bond with Sully was the biggest highlight for me so I loved seeing their interactions and how sweet Sawyer was with him. I also enjoyed how Sully’s love story with his beloved Joan was mirrored by Sawyer’s relationship with Fallon.
Loved the town of Canoodle and hope we get to visit again soon!
This was my first book by Meghan Quinn so I didn’t quite know what to expect besides what I’ve seen on bookstagram. Going in I thought this would be a very spicy read but what I got was a very slow burn. I am not complaining because the different characters and side plots really made up for it. I would really recommend this book to everyone because it was that good!
Thank you netgalley for an arc.
Sawyer and Fallon are my new favorite couple!
This book had everything. Love, romance, heartbreak and so so many laughs.
Sully and Sawyers relationship tugged at my heartstrings and made me love Sawyer even more.
And that quirky town. Loved it!!
Omg! Her friend Jaz cracked me up so bad. She is nuts but so dam funny
It was so good I read it twice and it actually was better the 2nd time. Not sure how that was possible
Meghan Quinn's books are always a hit with me and this was no different. I loved the Hollywood element to any story so this is what initially hooked me in to request this book. I wasn't disappointed, This was exactly my cup of tea, a lough out loud romance. I especially adored the small town element to the story. I will most definitely be seeking out more of this authors work in the future.
Runaway Groomsman is Meghan's newest standalone and another entertaining read.
I won't go into too much detail because the blurb gives you all you need to know on this one. Not that anything I say will give away huge plot points, but I also hate giving away cute tidbits that sometimes just make the book more enjoyable when discovered without prior knowledge.
I love that this book is told in dual POV. It allows readers to get a better insight on each character and a better understanding on their choices. I do feel that Sawyer carried more of this book than Fallon did but it didn't deter me. I just felt more of a connection to Sawyer than Fallon.
Runaway Groomsman is definitely a slow-burn romance story. I really enjoyed it for the most part. I did feel like the last 30% was rushed compared to the how the first 70% played out. And there was one scene that I felt could have been left out as it didn't add any value to the plot. However, I was never in a position where I wanted to stop reading.
Overall, another great story from Meghan that will have readers loving her characters and their HEAs.
Another win by Meghan Quinn! I always enjoy her books and this was no exception! The banter between the characters is unmatched and I will continue to read every book she releases!!
4/5 Stars
I had a lot of fun with this one.
Meghan Quinn is one of those authors that can make me laugh.
& she did so with this one for sure!
Unfortunately not a favourite of mine from Meghan, however still enjoyable enough to sit down and read.
Meghan Quinn is the author you go to if you want a cute romance with a touch of comedy. She makes you fall in love with the characters and all of them not just the main characters. Like Fallon's grandfather Sully.
The town of Canoodle Cove is such a cute picturesque town that I want to live in.
Fallon and Sawyer are such a cute couple together. I loved how Sawyer was helping Fallon without her knowing. How it turned into him wanting him to help her to make her life easier.
This was a really slow burn romance, but I felt like it was a bit drawn out this time.
I wasn't a fan of Fallon's best friend, she was really annoying and childish when it came to Fallon and Sawyers relationship. And I wasn't a fan of the breakup at the end. But overall I loved this book.
Not my favorite. Seemed rushed and not the best from her. I still adore her work but this one just wasn’t it. Ready for the next one.
Could not put this down ! I love Meghan Quinns books. She writes her characters so well. I love the reverse roles its usually the bride who's running away not the groomsman, the book was a slow burn but so worth it !
I really enjoyed this book overall. I did struggle with a Meghan Quinn where the couple didn't have a spicy scene until closer to the end, but overall it was super cute!
This was my first Meghan Quinn and I really enjoyed it! This was really a classic rom-com, even leaning into the idea of rom-com movie tropes, since the MMC writes romance movies.
This was a bit of a slow-burn, forced proximity, friends-to-lovers story. Sawyer becomes the "runaway groomsman" after leaving his ex-girlfriend and ex-best friend's wedding, and hiding out in a mountain community, where he meets (or re-meets...) Fallon. Fallon has been helping to run her grandparents' cabin rentals, while taking care of her grandfather who has Alzheimers. Sawyer ends up putting a lot of time and effort into helping with repairs around the property, and it's just the thing to soften Fallon's heart. These two had some bumps in the road, some I saw coming and some I didn't, but I really enjoyed their story. I'll definitely read more from Meghan Quinn after this!
