No Ordinary Hate is a great spin on the world of Hollywood. It also has that lifetime or Hallmark movie feel of an beautiful actress trying to escape her life and find herself. This definitely for an older audience. It is a good read not my favorite but worth the read. The story is well developed and there are a lot twist that will keep you reading to see what is going to happen.

No Ordinary Hate by Whitney Dineen & Melanie Summers is the first book in A Gamble on
Love Mom-Com#1

As the title implies this is a story about moms finding second chance at love.

This book is set in a beautiful Alaskan environment during the summer months where soon to be divorced celebrity mom takes her two kids away from all bad publicity happening the moment her husband cheated on her with the nanny.

In Alaska she meets the guy who never plans to marry due to some personal issues and who just happens to run the place where she has rented her cabin and things progress from there.

The book is full of strong, likeable and charming characters you can't help but like and root for.

I usually enjoy stories these two ladies come up with I have to say I found this one to be quite slow, with not so much banter and laughs I came to expect from them.
I liked it nevertheless but we were more than halfway into the book before anything romantic happened between the characters.

I would still recommend this to those who enjoy clean slow burn romantic comedies.

No Ordinary Hate by Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers

▪️mom rom-com
▪️enemies to lovers
▪️opposites attract
▪️humorous banter
▪️engaging and well-written

When Harper Kennedy walks in on her husband, Brett, cheating on her. She decides to leave him, take the kids and file for divorce. But Brett being an actor and Harper having worked in Hollywood, make it hard. With everybody's eyes on them, Harper decides to take a break from the paparazzi and goes on a vacation with her kids to the snowy mountains of Alaska.

I loved the way this book's written. The bits from Ferris Biltmore gave me Lady Whistledown vibes and I liked it soo much, especially because it fit the narration of the story flawlessly.

Will Harper find love in Alaska? Read to find out!!

Thanks NetGalley for this one!

“My future is wherever you are.”

I really enjoyed this book! It had all the Hollywood vibes, plus the small town feel! I love when the MC is a mom, it makes the book so much more relatable to me! Harper’s struggles for her children were so real, while mixed in with an entertaining and lighthearted story! Digger and Harper seemed like polar opposites, but I loved how their values brought them together! Read this one if you enjoy Hollywood characters, a small town setting, forced proximity, opposites attract, or enemies to lovers.

What a delightful start to a new series! This is the first installment of A Gamble on Love Mom-Com, and I am already hooked. Ms. Dineen and Ms. Summers are two incredibly talented authors and never fail to entertain and make me laugh, and this book is no exception. The characters are relatable and endearing and I instantly fell in love with them. This is a brilliantly written hilarious romance that pulled me in from the very start and I just couldn't put it down. So many laugh out loud fun moments, you might want to make sure you are in a private place when reading because there are too many laugh out loud moments throughout and you don't want to have to hold in those belly laughs! But don't get me wrong, while there is plenty of fun in this story, it also has a good amount of emotional depth. Harper was such a great character, and she definitely didn't deserve that cheating husband of hers. I'm so glad she found Digger. Although they didn't necessarily get off on the right foot, that quickly changed as they began to spend more time together and genuinely fall for each other. This is a charming and cozy story with a delightful cast of characters and it was easy to get lost in all the witty banter, humor and fun. I adore the characters and story and appreciated the intensity of the passionate scenes and their steam, without being explicit. A wonderful start to the series. Definitely recommend!

Can you imagine everyone perceiving your relationship as perfect? Hard right? Now imagine that on a bigger scale because you are a Hollywood actress. Thats right that’s how Harper’s life is displayed to all. But life isn’t always as perfect as it seems. For poor Harper her husband is a horrid cheater. Now the media finds out, and that creates chaos for her life. Gone is her picture perfect life, and everyone knows her husband is a cheater. Harper needs an escape and what better place than Alaska!
There Harper meets Digger and we fall into a story about romance, and starting over as a mom.

What I enjoyed:
- the romance element was very cute! A bit insta lovey. But I really enjoyed the dynamic between Harper and Digger.
- This book was well written and a very fun/quick read
- The humor had me cracking up quite a bit while reading this!

Overall, I really enjoyed this cute, and fluffy romance. This feels like the perfect beach read! I am looking forward to the next book in the series. 4 stars out of 5.

Fun read! The couple fell in love so fast, it almost didn’t seem believable. But we read to escape reality too! Recommend for character development and interesting plot.

I LOVED this book! When these 2 authors get together to write a Rom-Com, I know I'm in for a fun ride! Harper and Digger come from 2 completely different worlds, and watching them come together and maneuver through their differences was funny, challenging, and heartbreaking at times. The humor throughout the book had me laughing out loud! The blogger following Harper's life falling apart was touching, very relevant, and at times, absolutely hysterical!!! Can't wait for the next book in this series!

I adored this book. I have officially found my new series. Everything about this romance was beautiful.

I don't typically like kids in books but these kids were written amazingly - they sounded their age and they were funny and cute

Harper was a sweet human who was having a difficult time. I loved the Hollywood aspect. Her husband has been cheating and she finally had enough

While her life is upside down - she decides a change of scene is what the kids need and that is where she finds Digger.

A sweet but gruff man who has a thing for her but a chip on his shoulder. This whole storyline had depth, fun and drama - a awesome mix

I devoured this and completed it within a day - I am eagerly waiting for the next book

No Ordinary Hate is the first book in Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers’s new Gamble on Love mom-com series. Harper Kennedy is a popular TV star who is married to Brett Kennedy, a movie star. She catches her husband having sex with their children’s nanny and kicks him out. Harper decides to take her children on a vacation to Alaska to get away from the paparazzi that are harassing them. They go to a small family-owned resort, Whistler Lake Lodge, in the town of Gamble.

Harper immediately rubs float plane pilot/cook, and all-around lodge manager, Digger, the wrong way. However Digger feels sorry for 4-year-old Lily and 8-year-old, Liam, and goes out of his way to ensure they have a good time. Digger’s grandfather, Grandpa Jack, encourages the happy bachelor to get romantically involved with Harper. Harper befriends Digger’s sister, Moira, a widow who has three sons. When the paparazzi arrive in Gamble, Digger decides to take Harper and the five children to the family’s remote fishing cabin to hide out.

This is a clean romantic comedy that features a single mom. The characters are engaging and the plot is well-paced. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, as I have previous Dineen/Summers books. Based on the sparks that flew between Moira and Harper’s lawyer, Ethan Caplan, I suspect that their story will be next in the series.

When Harper finds her husband cheating on her she kicks him out of the house, but as they are both famous it leads to her and her family being in the public eye and photographers hiding outside her house. To escape it all she heads to Alaska where she meets Digger. He never wanted a family, but will Harper change his mind?

Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Harper Kennedy is a Hollywood star who is absolutely done with her husband's cheating ways and neglect when it comes to their children. She's also had it with paparazzi who has no qualms with not only invading Harper's privacy but her two children, Lily and Liam. So, they pack their bags and go to Alaska; there she meets Digger McKenzie, owner of the resort they're to stay in.

I got very into this book that I completely forgot all about the homework I have due tomorrow. Welp. Moving on, this is a very cute fast-paced romance. I absolutely love the characters (except for the [ex] husband, of course). The Kennedy kids are adorable. Lily being such a sassy sweetie pie and Liam acting like an old man inside a young boy's body. And the romance between Digger and Harper is just wow. I love them, they fit together so well despite their differing backgrounds. Insta-love can be such a 50/50 for me in books, but this one was just done well, it was perfect.

PS. I just realised that this book reminds me of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

If you're looking for a quick and light-hearted romance, this one's for you!

I love when a trope that I'm not a big fan of makes me love it, and it's because it's so well written.
.
Without needing to open the door Whitney Dineen and Melanie Summers wrote a perfect Hollywood romance, instalove so cute and heart warming that left me craving for the next book in this serie
.
Harper is the sweetheart of Hollywood and has been married for several years to one of the mega movie stars Brett Kennedy, far from the perfect marriage when Harper discovers another infidelity a few meters from her children, she decides to file for a divorce, triggering a fever between the yellow press and the paparazzis who fight to get information leaving her as the only option to take their two children and escape to the farthest place they can think of
.
For Digger, Gamble Alaska is more than home, it's his whole world full of peace and quiet without Wi-Fi, so when a Hollywood star arrives incognito with his two children to stay in one of his cabins, he can't help but feel revulsion. But as the days go by and her ex-husband continues to attract the wrong attention, treating her peace he feels an enormous desire to protect her.
.
It's the first Hollywood stars romcom I've read with a divorce in the middle of the plot, Harper and Digger make this instalove so cute and heartwarming that they had me rooting for them. And not to mention Alaska, romance in Alaska is an auto-buy for me, is a perfect and light romance
.
Thanks to Melanie Summer, Whitney Dineen and Xpresso Book Tours for give me this beautiful book in exchange for my honest opinion I really enjoyed reading it

This book kicks off what sounds like a real enjoyable series. I really loved this book. The characters just sucked right me in. My heart went out to the characters in this one. What Harper and her kids go through just breaks my heart. I wanted to give her ex a swift kick. He needed a big visit from karma. It shows the ugly side to Hollywood. There is a silver lining with the situation when the end up in Gamble, Alaska. Digger and his family are exactly when Harper and her kids need. Lily and Liam are adorable. Liam has an old soul. Lily is a sassy sweet girl. It made me so happy to see Harper and her kids thrive in Alaska, but their celebrity life follows. That's a part the broke my heart for that little family as well. Digger was a little bit of a jerk in the beginning, but man did that man make me swoon especially when it came to the kids. This was a funny sweet story that will make your romantic heart happy sigh. I really can't wait for more from this series. I've already fallen in love with the little town of Gamble.

This is a fun and fast paced read. She is a Hollywood starlet who is fixing to get divorced from her Hollywood hunk of a husband. Due to the paparazzi, and in an attempt to keep her young children away from all the media, she takes them on a getaway to Alaska. She meets the resort owner and the two get off on the wrong foot. He thinks she's just the typical spoiled Hollywood princess, whom he wants nothing to do with. She thinks he's a grumpy lumberjack. While the book is a romcom, there are some situations that will make you want to scream. (Thanks mostly in part to her soon-to-be-ex and his slimy ways.) There are children involved, so there are some cute moments that they bring to the table. This is rated PG (no bedroom scenes) though there is mention of 'boning.' The characters are both enjoyable and likeable (though they each have their moments when you might question their thought process.) It is an easy read and the story flows smoothly and quickly. There are some hints at a possible featured couple in future books.

*I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

Excellent read, So it follows harper who gets cheated on by her husband by the nanny she walks in on them having sex, but you learn he’s been doing this for quite a while he sleeps around and cheats on her while married. He is also a famous movie star an they have a Hollywood life with two kids. She ends up leaving him to go to Alaska with her kids to go to a place where nobody knows her and where the tabloids dont follow her every waking move. So she goes there and meets some wonderful people, who obviously know who she is because she was also a actress. And she ends up falling in love with Digger who is basically the tour guide also the one who flew them on his plane there, also he hunts and his sister owns the diner in town. Her husband comes to town an tries to ruin everything he bad mouths her to her kids even though she told her kids that they aren’t seeing each other anymore but still love each other so he bad mouths her to the kids so she said you know what this is it. It was such a good story i was invested to see what would happen next because she shares a kiss with digger they end up really liking each other but her husband tries to ruin it, you can tell he doesn’t even want to be a dad to his kids because he leaves them in a hotel while their sleeping during the story so she freaks out and goes to get them and like digger also showed her his part of town they went camping, they hiked she really enjoyed Alaska. And things happen towards the end where you just hope she ends up with Digger and not staying back with her husband who doesn’t even really care about her just about her going back together with him so he can get his movie role. So she ends up going on national tv later towards the end of the book and telling the world that she is in love with Digger. The ending was sweet. 5 stars!! Thank you for letting me read this book!

To the public actress Harper Kennedy is America’s sweetheart. She’s rich, famous, has two adorable children, and a loving superstar husband…okay maybe strike that last one…he’s actually a dirt bag. When Harper walks in on her husband and the nanny, she’s had it. This isn’t the first time Brett has cheated on her, but she’s determined to ensure it’s the last. With the paparazzi stalking her every move, Harper packs up her kids, eager to escape those looking to feast on the scandal her life has become. Running off to the remote town of Gamble, Alaska, the last thing Harper expected to find was love, especially with Digger, the grumpy confirmed bachelor that runs the resort. But love has a way of finding you when you least expect it.

I absolutely loved this story. I sat down to read and when I stopped to take a break I was shocked to see several hours had flown by. The characters were fantastic, especially Harper’s children Lily and Liam and the story was just super cute. It reminded me of some of my favorite Hallmark movies, only better. (That being said I’d totally love to see it made into a movie.) Sweet story, fantastic characters, including Brett making a great ‘villain’, it had everything I wanted from a rom-com. (or mom-com as the authors are calling it) I can’t wait to see what Whitney Dineen & Melanie Summers come up with next. Thanks so much to the authors and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review an eARC of No Ordinary Hate.

Did I go into this with a preconceived notion of mom-rom-com? Yes. Was I completely wrong to almost dismiss this delight of a book because of it? Also yes. This book has everything a cute love story should have - Hollywood drama, hunky outdoorsman, cute littles, and a sweet-but-still-relatable love story. The characters in this book are so believable - even if you don't want to think people like gross-ex-husband exist. The relationships between the MC and everyone else (not just the love interest!) are so darling and .. real. I saw my best friend in her best friend. I made friends with her new friend because I felt like I knew Moira personally. I definitely recommend this book - it's endearingly sweet and the perfect summer read.
