I love Kathleen Ayers books! She's brought us a wonderful couple who don't fit the norm in this book genre. Henry and Emmie have the most engaging, sarcastic, in-your-face relationship. Neither gives an inch! And peas will be flung at people. Then sparks fly, and it's hot, like steaming hot! Start fanning yourself now. I so enjoyed this pair's interactions. Why? Because they've been hurt terribly and hide behind screens that make them, on the surface, unlikeable and undesirable. Ms.Ayers unwraps them with wit, care and empathy.

As you can tell, I really like the book. I rarely give 5 stars to a book. But I readily give this one 5 stars. I highly recommend this book, and of course, Ms. Ayers' other books. I received an advanced read copy for my honest review, and received no compensation.

Funny and witty. I love the main characters, sharp tongued heroine, bad mannered hero, yet they fit together perfectly.. Complete with steamy scenes and amusing banter. Wonderful book!
