Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six starts off pretty straightforwardly. Mako is a tech guy who splurges on everything, and invites his sister Hannah, her husband, and another couple to vacation in a luxury cabin the the middle of nowhere, owned by a super creepy guy. Almost all of these people are terrible. Morally bankrupt, totally annoying, or both. There are some likable characters introduced in alternating chapters, but it takes most of the book to figure out who these people are, why we are reading about them, and how they relate to Mako and Hannah. Lisa Unger's books are fast paced, the characters are well-written, and the plots are original. This book is no different, I just found the well-written characters too awful and the original plot too convoluted. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

I LOVE LISA UNGER!!!! 5 stars all the way! A twisty, psychological novel that was just brilliant. Can't wait for another one to gobble up!

This was very dark and twisted! It was pretty fast paced and I couldn’t predict what would happen next. I did think it was a little chaotic and hard to follow at some points but the end wrapped up pretty neatly.

This was......interesting to say the least.
I'm not trying to spoil the plot so I'll try to as vague as i can in this review

I enjoyed the atmosphere and the writing of this book. The characters were, well, not up to par I guess you could say.

I didn't like the skipping around with the timelines only because there were too many character names introduced and named and I did get confused here and there but I think I got the gist of the story and the backgrounds.

I wish I got more of a conclusion from the landowner guy because I feel like he just sorta disappeared from the story outta nowhere just poof, gone.

That's all I can really say now without spoilers but I'll be back closer to pub date with more coherent and detailed thoughts.

I enjoy Lisa Unger and this book was no exception. The story line was good, but it did seem like a few too many characters to follow and how the all related to each other. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!.

Hannah’s rich brother, Mako, has planned a weekend getaway for her birthday. He rented an isolated luxury cabin in the woods big enough for 6 friends and family that includes a personal chef and everything they could need for some nice rest and relaxation. When a deadly storm threatens to derail the fun, things start to turn weird. This place has a history that was never advertised!

Lisa Unger rocks! All of her books have been a hit for me so far, and this includes her latest, SECLUDED CABIN SLEEPS SIX. I really loved the premise of the “vacation gone wrong!” I would highly recommend this addictive thriller for everyone, especially Lisa Unger fans!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Park Row Books for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This review will be posted to my Instagram Blog (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the near future.

First thing - WOW.
This is only the second book I've read by the author but I will be reading more.

This book grabs you and holds on. You don't want to put it down. I just wanted to read and read. Now, I won't say the book didn't have a slow moment at the beginning but the end made up for that.

Another great thriller. Can't wait to share this book when it comes out with my friends and patrons.

I will read anything Lisa Unger writes! I loved this book...book 20 was un-put-downable. I literally read this book cover to cover. This is the second or third book I have read recently where DNA plays a part in the story. Unger does a great job weaving two separate story lines together for a suspenseful story, Cannot wait to recommend this book in November. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy.

I’ve been trying more and more to go into books as blindly as possible; only making assumptions from the title and the first line of the synopsis. I knew this was a thriller about a group of friends going to a cabin for a weekend & I couldn’t wait to dive in. I mean, who doesn’t love that trope, right?

Ok, so, time for some honesty. I feel like a lot of my anticipated reads (especially thrillers) have been falling flat for me. And I’m really not sure why. This one, for me, had so much promise, but I couldn’t 100% get into it. It started off a little confusing; introducing a lot of characters, switching POVs, and flipping narratives depending on the character. I couldn’t get a tight grasp on who was who & how exactly they were all connected. The connection tidbit did hit me later, but waaayyy later. The 2nd half of the book and ending were very exciting and had me flipping through quickly. But it took me a while to warm up to it. 3 ⭐️s

A huge thank you to Netgalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Lisa Unger for this e-arc. Check out Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six on its pub date 11/8!

For the most part, this was taut and suspenseful. I imagine that's why it was so off putting when the final few chapters were sappy to the point of silliness.

I did not see THAT coming! I began to slowly put things together, but I still have questions. First, where can I reserve this cabin! It was more than one twist I wasn't quite prepared for but I enjoyed the title all the same. My readers of Unger will love this one too!

This was my first time reading Lisa Unger, and I’m hooked! Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six was a great book. This was a page turner with a lot of twists and turns. I loved the descriptive writing and the plot development. I don’t usually enjoy a ‘locked room’ mystery, but this one was the excuse. I loved the author’s writing style, the family drama, and the twists. This was an exceptionally well written book. I highly recommend this thriller. Thank you NetGalley and Park Row for the ARC.

The locked room thrillers have been killing it this year! There is A LOT going on in this book, but at no point does it ever feel disjointed. Hannah's tech mogul brother found the listing, a secluded hideaway for six couples that boasts gorgeous views, a personal chef, and every amenity you could want . Almost immediately, however, a pervasive sense of dread sets in. The cabin has a dark past, the owner seems a little too eager to offer assistance. and a storm is rolling in, making contact with the outside world near impossible.

Once the couples get settled, Hannah begins to question her brother's motives for bringing them all here. Through a shocking dual timeline, some sins of the past come to light. Hannah doesn't know who she can trust--her brother is hiding something, her husband is acting guilty, and her best friend showed up with yet another new boyfriend, but who is dead set on ruining this trip and seeking vengeance?

I couldn't put this down until I knew how everything would be resolved. It's a long wait until November, so get your hands on an early read now!

A solidly written, fast moving thriller for fans of vacations gone wrong. Unger mixes together a few parts of a locked room mystery with a few parts of the deadly vacation trope and sprinkles in some deep family drama to create an utterly readable novel.
If there was any potentially negative thing to point out, it would be the lack of sympathetic characters. A lot of folks will struggle to find someone to root for and it may be a turn off. For me, I like to read about flawed, fully realized characters, even if I don’t necessarily like them. So I was able to overlook this pretty easily.

Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

This thriller kept me turning pages until the wee hours! Three couples, all with dark secrets, go away on a trip to a secluded Airbnb. Mystery and mayhem ensue, of course. definitely made me wary of Airbnbs! I thought the plot went a bit haywire toward the end, but I still really enjoyed reading it.

4 stars
Lisa Unger always comes through with a twisted tale! This book was very intense following 4 seemingly unconnected storylines. I loved reading how everything came together at the final climax.
