this is hands down the best parenting book I have ever read. I found Dr. Becky through my favorite podcast (We Can Do Hard Things) and have since consumed everything she has available. Social media, website, podcast, and this wonderful book. Bought a copy to highlight and annotate and keep on my shelf. Also bought it at work for the library.
I follow Dr. Becky Kennedy on instragram and when I found out she was writing a book, I had to read it. Does not disappoint! So much good information in one place! I recommend this book to all my mom friends

Thoughts: First, if you aren't following Dr. Becky on social media and you are a parent, run now and follow her. I love her tips! I was so excited to see she had written a book. The premise of this book is that we are all good inside. Parents are good inside and kids are good inside. I loved this book!
The second half of the book discusses different parenting challenges and ideas on what to do. I received an e-book, but this is definitely a book I would love to have a hard copy of. It would be really helpful to flip back to these ideas!
If you are a parent, I would recommend reading this book!
I've mainly given up on reading parenting books because they often make bad, like I've already failed as a parent. This book was a wonderful exception. It's written by Dr. Becky Kennedy, a clinical psychologist, and I've referred her so much that my husband kindly jokes that I'm like the mom in the cartoon Rugrats who was always talking about Dr. Lipshitz. Dr. Becky's insights and suggestions are simple practical but go against natural instinct in stressful moments, which is why this book is so incredible and so needed. She sums it up best at the end of the last chapter: "This book isn't so much a guidebook to parenting as it is a guidebook to feeling good inside, in any area of your life. After all, reclaiming our internal goodness is the key to change within ourselves and, after that, the key to intergenerational change with our kids. Once we feel good inside, we start to see the good inside our kids."
As any parent can attest, as your child grows, you grow with them. This is a fantastic book that teaches you how to deal with your triggers as your child learns to form their own opinions and limits. It is a book perfect for you to use as you grow with your child and gives constructive frameworks on how to become the parent you'd like to be.
