Another amazing sampler. I absolutely love seeing these and what they have for future releases. This gives you just the right amount of content to decide if you really want to support the author and content provided!

Very interesting how they categorize these short Stories about these different novels. And I like how they had each part of the book was that all these things were related together Someone you could request the full novel after you read it The short version of it. I also like how they summarized it and then after you read it they gave a little story about the author and why she wrote this book.
This is a book I look forward to reading. I like it as I will get to read excerpts from authors I know. I also enjoy finding new authors to read. I must confess I sometime have a rather long list of books to read. The book includes: fiction, debut fiction (new authors), and commercial fiction (bestsellers). Nonfiction includes: essays, criticism and more; biography and memoir; politics and current events; social issues; history and crime; and business, science & technology. My favorites that I read first are the fictions, history & crime, biography & memoir. I do like to check out the other nonfiction sections to see if any of the titles “catch my eye,”. Those I read first but I do try to read the whole nonfiction as I have had the experience of finding a book to read even though the title didn’t appeal to me. It’s a great book to find old friends who have written new books and new author with their writings. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know what is newly published.
I look forward to these packed full of great recommendation reads every 6 months. I grow my reading list with every new edition. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Love hearing about all the new authors and titles, hate growing my TBR list by leaps and bounds. They never disappoint. Another great one. Keep up the good work!
I appreciated this as good intro into some authors and subjects that may be interesting across genres.
From the very high proportion of books either about or by folks of minority heritage and or lifestyles, it is extremely obvious that so-called "diversity" played a huge role in the selections included in the collection. Characters and storytellers from many backgrounds can make for interesting and varied books, but not when it feels forced and out of the normal proportion. Plus, there were some selections that were just downright racist against "majority" groups.
On a completely different note, I found one book out of about 40 that I looked at that I'd like to explore further, so I suppose it wasn't a total loss! :)
If you'd like to see the books included (most anyway), you may find them here:

These selections were more varied in quality than I’m used to. The quality was more consistent upon reaching the YA section.
I so enjoy getting a preview of the wonderful books coming out soon. Always a treat. Gives me a head start on my next few ARC requests. Thanks.
I really should learn to avoid the Buzz Book series, because it only means my TBR will keep growing, but I just love reading the excerpts and learning of upcoming titles.
Here are just a few of note from this edition:
The Storyteller's Death - Ann Davila Cardinal
A Place to Land - Laura Denton
Daisy Darker - Alice Feeney
Now is Not the Time to Panic - Kevin Wilson
The Lost Girls of Willowbrook - Ellen Marie Wiseman
The Fortunes of Jaded Women - Carolyn Huyah
BAd Fruit - Ella King
The House in the Pines - Ana Reyes
Always useful for getting the rundown on whats coming up next season. I'll always pick up and scan Buzz Books!

I really enjoy these preview books. They give me great snippets of stories and often hook me on books that I otherwise wouldn't have requested
There are a ton of interesting samples included in the Fall/Winter 2022 edition of Buzz Books, especially the fiction, which accounts for most of the books that I read. By now a good number of these previews have been published, but some are still in the offing, and even though many have been published, it’s still a great opportunity to sample these titles.
Among the books I sampled and enjoyed are:
- Nubia: The Awakening by Omar Epps and Clarence A. Haynes (aimed at the YA market but I’m looking forward to reading the entire book and I am well past the YA age group) - published November 8
- The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton (the opening had me shuddering, with memories of violent hurricanes) - publishing December 6
- The Lost Girls of Willowbrook by Ellen Marie Wiseman - published August 30
- Now is Not The Time to Panic by Kevin Wilson - published November 8
- Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney -published August 30
- In The Time of Our History by Susanne Pari - publishing January 3
- Age of Vice by Deepti Kapoor - publishing January 3
- When We Had Wings by Ariel Lawhon, Kristina McMorris, and Susan Meissner - published October 18
- Winterland by Rae Meadows - publishing November 29
- Someday, Maybe by Onyi Nwabineli (debut novel) - published November 1
- City Under One Roof by Iris Yamashita (debut novel) - publishing January 10
- The Old Place by Bobby Finger - published September 20
- The Fortunes of Jaded Women by Carolyn Huynh - published September 6
- Strangers To Ourselves: Unsettled Minds and the Stories That Make Us by Rachel Aviv (non-fiction) - published September 13
- Wolf Hustle by Cin Fabré: A Black Woman on Wall Street (non-fiction, memoir) - published September 20
Note: I received my copy via NetGalley, but this ebook is available to everyone, free of charge, on Amazon and Barnes & Noble's web sites.
This is always such a helpful preview of upcoming books, and this issue is no exception. I'm very excited about new books by many of my favorite writers, and I didn't even know that A.S. Byatt had a new collection until I saw it listed here.
A list of the best to come? Sign me up! My heart raced as I scanned the list. So excited to catch up on these amazing reads.
